1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 1 BCH reward to help me recover my 3.5 BCH on: January 10, 2018, 11:45:11 PM
can you extract the private key from that BTC address? The same one the BCC is on.
Or do you only have access to the seed?

I still have access to the wallet and from what I remember the private keys with multibit HD are encrypted by multibit and I'm not sure if I can extract it... Let's say I'm digging online and I find a way to exctract the public and private keys from this address, what would step 2 be?

1. Download electron cash from electroncash.org
2. Select "Standard Wallet" and "I already have a seed"
3. Enter your seed when asked
4. Click "Options" and check the Bip38 box
5. Put in the derivation path (for multibit HD I think it's either m/0'/0 or m/0'/0'.

I already did that and that's how I got only my 1mBTC to show up and nothing else

******SOLVED********

m/0'/0 will only give you the receiving addresses of the wallet
I tried again with https://iancoleman.io/bip39/ and in derivation path I put m/0'/1 AND IT GAVE ME THE ADDRESS I WAS LOOKING FOR!!!! Smiley
m/0'/1 gave me the change addresses and m/0'/0 is the receiving addresses. Nobody really mentions it online.

Thanks for your time guys I couldn't be happier now, it was months and months of thinking I'd never be able to get my bch

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [SOLVED] Claiming BCH from MultibitHD on: January 10, 2018, 10:32:48 PM

Hi, I'm having trouble claiming my BCH. A long time ago my laptop screen broke, I used Multibit at the time. Around july, I tried to backup my wallet because I wanted to spend some bitcoins, downloaded the same version of multibit, replaced all the files inside Library/application support/ form my old laptop (I have a mac) and the coins were there, downloaded MultibitHD and moved the coins there. I did not have my seed. so I used this tool to get my seed from MBHD after emptying the wallet : https://github.com/gurnec/decrypt_bitcoinj_seed

This is what I'm trying to recover https://blockdozer.com/insight/address/1xdQN89zEkp2cx8zjLMzjnktDNJnfefkW

Transaction history :
Basically this is the transaction from where I moved my coins from Multibit to MultibitHD https://blockchain.info/address/1Jxb4yF67aMLT5RkRhdpmKipNT9wTG9wrc

Here is the transaction of when I moved the coins from MultibitHD to another wallet
https://blockchain.info/address/1A6vLNynSumVA1hB5iN8i43VNoj3TQ9tn7
In the inputs from this address there is 1mBTC coming from 1LmMyaTYoVKjkcX4xaba2KX6UcZTtdfnEb

Somehow, when used my seed to open a BCH wallet, there is only 3 transactions : 1mBTC in, 4.49 in and 4.49 out and I am left with only 1mBTC from 1LmMyaTYoVKjkcX4xaba2KX6UcZTtdfnEb as my balance.

I tried using https://iancoleman.io/bip39/ and generated over 1000 addresses and I still can't find the address where the 4.49BTC went (which I believe is this transaction is the outputs on this transaction https://blockchain.info/address/1Jxb4yF67aMLT5RkRhdpmKipNT9wTG9wrc)

For visual understanding, here is a screenshot of my transaction histories
https://imgur.com/a/4jufS

The only BCH wallet that worked was electron cash, I had to play with the m'/0' thingy to get it to work.

If anybody could help, that would be great! I have a trezor if that could help and my friend told me to try doing it with it but it didn't work (or we might have done it wrong)

5  Economy / Goods / [WTS] CHEVY IMPALA SS '95 on: January 09, 2018, 08:54:07 PM
I'm trying to sell my friend's lowrider Chevy Impala SS, the LT1 engine on it has less than 15 000km (about 7k miles)
***Supercharger is optional***

Here is more info https://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars/ouest-de-lile-qc/chevrolet-impala-ss-95/1300226355?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true
(canadian craigslist)

Asking price :
0.5BTC
option 1 : Shipping included, without the supercharger
option 2 : Shipping not included but comes with the supercharger
He will fly to you to sign all the ownership papers to make it a smooth transaction (he gets heavy discounts on airplane tickets)

If anybody is interested, I will link you guys up to discuss the details  (whatsapp or by email)

It's a very beautiful car, it used to be his uncle's but he passed away and unfortunately, this car is worth a lot more in the US than in Canada. This car was an original SS (for the collectors looking for the wx3 option code) and it's very easy to turn back into a fully stock SS, the only mods were the brakes, airbag suspension and the supercharger that he might sell separately.
6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [WTB] Buying bitcoin online using a credit card on: August 20, 2015, 04:05:42 AM

There's no easier way than these shady apps? Like is there a website somewhere where it's doable?
Worst case I'll sell the prepaid card for btc :p

I got a prepaid credit card for my birthday and I'd like to buy bitcoin with it... Is it possible?
8  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 25BTC Casascius on: July 28, 2015, 02:12:44 AM
Interesting responses here.  A 25btc coin for a few BTC premium is a steal.  It's not going to be long before you can ask what you want for one since they will be so rare.  Look how many fell during the last bubble!

Will people actually drop a huge premium on a coin? I dont think so - maybe in 50 years or so...
All the other times I tried to sell it I was asking 28.5btc and no one wanted to pay a 3.5btc premium
9  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 25BTC Casascius on: July 28, 2015, 01:41:49 AM

I don't have a camera or a phone right now for pics but I can show it to you on skype and we can discuss the details there. Serious buyers only please

Hi I'm looking to sell my 25btc casascius, I posted it here a few times but I never wanted to settle down for a low offer. Now is your chance to get one!! Im very serious about letting it go now and I'll start the bidding at 26btc + escrow + well do 50/50 on the shipping fees. I'm in a bad financial situation right now and I need to sell some of my bitcoins.

14  Economy / Goods / Re: WTS Rolex Perpetual DateJust (2010 model) on: February 04, 2015, 07:23:21 AM
Yep... That's one old Rolex, not that there's anything wrong with that. But the pics you posted show a watch in clear distress.. The Oyster band is showing signs of ware and tbh.. Its got an ugly face!

I'll pass but good luck with the sale.

If the price was right would you buy it? Let's say 4.25btc

I really need btc and the local watch shop offered me 1200$ CAD for it

(I'm hoping someone in the us buys it for btc because btc to cad is 300$ right now while its around 240 for USD)

If i sell the watch to him and then buy btc, I'm gonna end up with around 1100 or less because of the stupid fees btc sellers take

Not really man. I like watches and I love rolies but yours is in bad shape. The offer you got for $1200 is a fair one and if I were you I'd take it. Someone sent me a pm yesterday regarding your watch for sale and asked in my opinion what it was worth.

My reply was "Without any papers or proof that the watch is even legit I'd stay away personally. The watch itself in it's condition assuming its real is worth about $1500- $2500
The band has stretch, just to fix that you'll need to purchase a new band ($500-$900). The watch is old, You're supposed to service a Rolex every 5 years to make sure the seals are good and don't dry out. Servicing the watch alone will cost at least $500. Then you need to take into account the fact that the seller said the crown is busted and it wont set the time or date properly. This could be a $20 pin or a $1000 movement. Your guess is as good as mine."

So its worth $1500-$2500 on the top end if you find a naive buyer.. like I said.. Take the $1200 and run!! At $1200 there's enough on the bone for your local watch shop to fix it up and flip it for 3-4K.

Good luck man.

The one posted on the website on my first post is a secondhand in slight better shape than mine, I still feel like the 1200 is a rip off

I'll dig out the certificate and try ebay, the jewellers I've been to know how to spot fakes and I know mines 100% rolex Smiley

This forum was still worth a try, maybe when the btc price hits 100k people on here might possibly consider a rolex :p but thanks guys, always gonna love this community

do you have a picture of this so claimed rolex you have? if so, with a btc id pic would be great. I have a friend who buys watches all the time, so i may flip it to him.

I posted an imgur link earlier if you read my comments

WTS Rolex Perpetual DateJust (2010 model)
I think i have the older generation of the model and if i can dig out the certificate I can tell you the exact model.
http://www.bernardwatch.com/Rolex/Datejust/RLX6326

you should find that certificate if you want this taken seriously..nothing you have said adds up

The 16234 "sapphire quick-set" is a discontinued model. It was replaced with the Rolex 116234 in 2006. The 16234 first hit the market in 1987.

its a 2010 model but its the old model of something released in 87 and discontinued in 06?

I thought it was a 2010 model because thats when I got it. It has a slight tiny difference from the pics, I can tell because Ive worn mine for years. I'll send you guys the certificate, it's still it my parents house and in 2010 i was still living with them. In the end, uninterested buyers are whining about technicalities I have said (no I'm not a watch guy and I don't know the whole history of rolex)
18  Economy / Collectibles / Re: WTS 25BTC Casascius on: February 03, 2015, 01:00:25 AM
If you peel it my starting offer for the redeemed coin is .25 + shipping.

Unredeemed ones go for 28 but if I can't sell fast and redeem it, I'll PM you
19  Economy / Goods / Re: WTS Rolex Perpetual DateJust (2010 model) on: February 03, 2015, 12:55:03 AM
I took 2 pics and they're here : http://imgur.com/0MS4urH,lHSZdJi#0

It's not the exact same model as I linked but they look almost identical, I think i have the older generation of the model and if i can dig out the certificate I can tell you the exact model.

Looking to sell ASAP so please PM me if you're serious about this
20  Economy / Collectibles / Re: WTS 25BTC Casascius on: February 03, 2015, 12:27:22 AM
I need to sell my 25btc casascius, I just need the btc and I really don't feel like opening up that beauty.
It just needs to go fast, super express shipping is preferred if you want to escrow, I dont mind escrow as long as i can have access to the funds ASAP. PM me for pictures or wtv you want, we can Skype if you want to

Bidding starts at 27.5btc (I bought it for 28btc back then + shipping)
The coin is 2011 edition

You should redeem the bitcoin yourself if you need the BTC quickly and then just sell the redeemed coin.  That is for your protection against shipping out to the buyer with escrow and buyer said never receive your coin.  my 2 cents.

I don't want to redeem it because unredeemed ones are pretty rare. And escrow + tracking is pretty much a fail proof plan
