This will be very difficult to happen. To beat the bitcoin, that altcoin is really good and surpasses all other altcoins. But now only ETH can compete with Bitcoin.

Does Airchain have the option to directly use credit card services? I can imagine it would be less trouble if you did not have to buy it on an exchange before you wanted to spend it at a store.

I think Ethereum has huge potential if it can scale & add in a working data layer etc soon.

However, if the Safe network is completed ahead of Ethereum's sharding & hosting platform etc, it could take the lead (it will have sharding equivalents, full data hosting / dns, and be easy to use from day 1 - though that may be another year or two away).

There are a number of platforms that could overtake Ethereum in theory, but Ethereum has huge resources, great community, and great devs, so has a great chance to stay ahead and hopefully overtake Bitcoin in market cap.

Ethereum will also need to become a lot more user friendly to gain common users - wei? gwei? how many zeroes? Gas price? Gas limit? Not ready for normal people yet, but I hope it does adapt & develop including in its user friendliness.

Right now the perceived big 3 are:

I think if bitcoin crashes everything will obviously fall. Including eth. It will stay at that point for about a week until it settles. Even if that settlement point is at 0. Then you would see a rapid rise in eth and since eth would be the main trading pair the altcoins would follow. Everything would survive in the end. But honestly the only way btc crashes like that is if a unfixable bug is found in the code. But if it crashes there would be that turning point to Ethereum.

Something with future - ETH, ICON, WAN, VEN, NANO, ADA, IOTA.

It's a good idea to risk a little also with some utility tokens, like PRL for an example. If it succeeds, hodlers will be well off. If not, there's still a practical use for the stash.

None of your altcoins are yet comparable to bitcoin in terms of length of chain, PoW infrastructure, real world stress tests(working at ~2500 Tx/Block and not being defrauded/ hacked), security and decentralization You think all alt coins can do the same because they all CLAIM that. None of them have gotten even close to that scale to prove anything. Only ETH has and everyone knowa the kind of sexurity problems it has faced. You still wanna bet against bitcoin. Most welcome!

The prices falls abnormally, but at the core, bitcoin is about technology. Lightening Network makes bitcoin transaction speed insane and fees almost irrelevent. Segwit Wallets are increasingly accepted by exchanges. The Bitcoin transaction backlogs and fees has decreased. We have a lot to be excited about. This is about The Internet of Money. Stay strong community, we shall persevere.
