1  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many ATH are we going to see from today? on: Today at 05:48:07 PM
I am a bit inclined to see series of ATH breaking event this coming weeks to months until Bitcoin has finaly reach the ATH of its cycle.  I can't guess how many times Bitcoin will break its ATH and I am sure nobody knows it too, but one thing is certain, Bitcoin is currently at a hype now and the celebration of Bitcoin Pizza Day adds more hype to the market.  We have seen Bitcoin reach around $111k plus and I somehow believe that $115k is just around the corner.

Quote

How many ATH are we going to see from today?

We'll probably see enough new All Time Highs until June or July before another one of those bigger corrections or "mini-crashes", that will for the market to consolidate. That will also be another opportunity for accumulation before another surge to another Bitcoin price level. Cool

The other question, besides "How many?", is HOW HIGH will Bitcoin surge if we truly see enough new All Time Highs until June or July.

  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well if there is a Bitcoin price rally, there is sure to have a correction, or consilidation because Bitcoin market always give time for retracement every time there is a good market price rally.   The question would be how low will Bitcoin crash before it finally record its cycle all-time high?
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling in Pop Culture on: Today at 04:48:16 PM
But are there gamblers who really been influence by gambling movies to go and try gambling for themselves here? Or watching a movies that relates to poker and says I want to be that guy?

I don't, movies, most of them are unreal, and they add something to make it more cinematic, so I don't believe in everything I see in movies,

Unless it is labeled a true-to-life story, most of the movies are fiction, created by the imagination of a writer.  Even a true-to-life story has some exageration on it, so I really don't understand why some people believe fictional movies like it really happens in real life.

Quote
I guess some people are influenced by anything that their favorite actors are doing, this is risky because you will be deceive by what you see on movies that the actors and directors can be manipulated.

It was all a manipulation, it is a movie anyway, and they follow a script created by the writer and indeed it is misguiding people making them think that if someone does this and that he will easily win in gambling.  Worst some people even do the bad thing stuff like crimes shown in the movie just to make them feel cool.

Quote
If we are going to learn or be influenced to gamble, it should be in a way that will teach and enlighten us what gambling really is and the reality of gambling, which a movie or an actor cannot bring.

I highly agree that we should take lessons from gambling movies that enable to help us positively while engaging in gambling.  And sometimes even if the movie is fictional they have some message or good learning wants to convey to the audience.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does football Statistic/ History work? on: Today at 04:23:24 PM
So this left me to ask the question does statistics really work in football or it just a coincidence that it happens

Statistics really work in football especially when the person who is holding the statistics of the players is a genius coach.  With statistics of players, a coach can see the strengths and weaknesses of a player, the tendencies of action, and their specialty.  If the coach well knows the players' statistics he can maximize the potential of these players and can create unlimited strategies to counter the opponent line up.

When it comes to sports betting, knowing the statistics of a team will somehow give us hints on how the team will perform against its opponent.  It can give us important information about whether the team will have difficulty facing the opponent or they are comfortable in defeating them.  This way, it can give us hints on which team will likely win the match by simply looking at their past match-ups.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as 5th largest asset in the world on: Today at 03:55:45 PM
You can make use of this site to be checking it: https://companiesmarketcap.com/assets-by-market-cap/

In the next 4 years, I think bitcoin will be next to gold. It may still fall but later they will have no option than to know which one will be second. Bitcoin will later take the second position without no competition from those stocks.

It needs a lot more to take over gold, it was stated that gold market cap is around 17 trillion dollars to 22 trillion dollars while Bitcoin is only around 2.2 trillion dollars[2]. We need Bitcoin to reach more than 1m dollars to become the next gold and I do not think that it can be reached in the next 4 years.

Let Bitcoin surpass other who are just above it in ranking.  Little by little Bitcoin will surpass those who are above next to it.  Bitcoin has still lots of room to grow while those that are above it have almost a saturated market.

7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mario Barrios vs Manny Pacquiao WBC Welterweight Title - July 19 on: May 20, 2025, 06:44:20 PM
Quote
Its gonna be an interesting match though. Pacman is quite old but I know he can still dance in the ring however this might give his opponent a figting chance. If Pacman speed and power still retain on him he can dethrone Barrios.

That is if Manny retains all his arsenals and we know the effect of aging.  I have seen the video of the leaked training of Manny, his shadow boxing shows that his speed and quickness do not change, but we know that it is different if the opponent is defending and attacking.  Don't forget the stamina too, it is very needed to execute his strategy for the duration of the fight.

I did check and it come out from mostly local PH news covering this. And they are reliable so I guess this is already a go for the former Senator from the Philippines. And then there is this from Floyd's uncle Jeff Mayweather,

Quote
He's done nothing actually to be fighting for a world title other than his name or what he's done in the past. I mean his name is legendary but you still have guys that are fighting right now to get that number 1 spot. And you have some guy that hasn't fought in so many years that just jumps up and takes your spot and may win a world title.

https://www.si.com/fannation/boxing/floyd-mayweather-uncle-bashes-manny-pacquiao-title-shot-against-mario-barrios

So I guess by this time, the Mayweather's are still very envy on what Manny is getting from boxing organizations as it seems that he is still well recognized and respected as he was given a chance to fight for a world title.

I don't think that statement from Jeff Maywether is necessary, Floyd Mayweather Jr, can also have a championship match if he wants to, he also doesn't need to line up to fight the champion.  They both have marked their legalcy (FLoyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao) in the boxing world, so I believe they both will have the same special treatment when it comes to matching priority.

Also I'm excited to see him going back to the ring for another time again since after his retirement it seems that
Boxing became less appealing to me.

It is good to see another championship match for Pacquiao, true, it is quite boring to watch boxing after Manny retires, I think there is still no Filipino boxer that can deliver excitement and performance as Manny did.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you retire after $BTC reaches this amount? on: May 20, 2025, 06:00:28 PM
1 BTC = $1M it will be enough for retirement in my country and it's enough time to work and enjoy the results - why say this because to reach $1M it takes a long time maybe the next 10 years or more so for me it's realistic to quit the job at least you have enough to have at least 1 BTC in the portfolio.

Same here, $1M is equivalent to 243 years of work in my country so having such an amount is more than enough for retirement.  and  I agree with one of the replies, before we talk about BTC going to $1M and retirment stuff, we should first accumulat BTC.  All of these conversation will be nothing if we don't have any BTC in our stash.

But while retirement can still make money from investments then no problem will continue that rather than continue to enjoy the results one day must run out.
At least in old age you already have enough savings in bitcoin so that it is enough to support you and your wife in old age.

With the amount of $1M  and my lifestyle, I do not think I will run out of money even if I don't work or make a profit of that $1M.  Daily commodities are quite cheap here in my country compared to the US and European countries.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: House edge on: May 20, 2025, 05:36:24 PM
That's why we see some gamblers today buying fake gambling scripts, which they believe will give them an edge in the game they will play on an online casino.
Well, those who let themselves be fooled by these Things are somewhat stupid and stupidity Sometimes has no limits, just starting from the house Advantage is enough for them to realize that it is Impossible to beat the casino,

In terms of long-run gambling yes it is very hard to beat the casino, but there are instances when a player is able to win and sometimes the casino goes bankrupt due to massive wins of players.  It is indeed hard to beat the casino but not impossible.  It all depends on how muc bankroll a player has against the bankroll of a casino or the timing when a player stop gambling.  If a gambler won and never came back to that casino, then that gambler beat the casino not to the point it made it bankrupt of course.

however I think there are all kinds of Markets where there is real and false information , and people apparently like to inform themselves with false Information , just against what is Normal , it is like something unnatural.

These scammers prey on naive and newbie gamblers.  Those who do not know about the gambling mechanics, especially the luck-base game.  These scammers market a scam script, even presenting a rigged video on how it works convincing these newbies that the gambling script works only to find out that they are scammed after buying that gambling script.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Awareness on: May 20, 2025, 04:15:16 PM
Are people aware that there is a correlation between money in circulation and the price Bitcoin fetches on the free market?
I feel this is one of those things that are supposed to be common sense but people do not really realize it until they actually think about it. Like if centralized banks issue more money there will be more money for people to spend which means more possible money to be put in investments like crypto. And the opposite can be true as well.

Nope people won't get any money from the new money printout of the central bank.  It is not automatically distributed to the hand of the masses but rather it goes to the fund of the government.  So it would be better to say that when bank print out money, the government has much more to spend.  Since people need to work for it in order to gain money.

Quote
I would not hope to wake up without bitcoin haha. That would be as devastating as if I lost my fiat. Though with how much crypto has been engraved into the economy, if bitcoin for some reason disappeared one day it will also have a massive effect on the economy.

I don't think that if Bitcoin disappear there is a massive effect on the economy.  First, the government does not depend on Bitcoin, government still depends on their fiat currency.  I believe those who get massively affected are the investors and Bitcoin holders.  Besides Bitcoin is relatively small compare to other global market like Bitcoin marketcap is only $2T while gold is around $22T... (see quote below).

According to Miles Deutscher on Twitter, Bitcoin's current market cap stands at $1.8 trillion compared to gold at $22 trillion, equities at $125 trillion, bonds at $320 trillion, and real estate at $380 trillion. Given this disparity and rising global instability, Deutscher notes that the macroeconomic environment is increasingly favorable for Bitcoin to gain a larger share of global wealth. For traders, this highlights Bitcoin's significant growth potential relative to traditional assets, suggesting continued capital inflows and increased long-term trading opportunities as investors seek alternatives amidst global uncertainty (source: @milesdeutscher, Twitter, April 25, 2025).
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JPMorgan CEO tolerates bitcoin on: May 20, 2025, 03:26:06 PM
JP Morgan CEO eventually realized that his bank was missing the boat by not utilizing Bitcoin sales. So, he acknowledged that his bank needed to adopt Bitcoin sales through ETFs.

Jamie dimon is not for bitcoin is just in for business, since he have seen the massive growth of bitcoin and the massive adoption of bitcoin, he now decide to tap the glory of bitcoin  by allowing his clients to buying bitcoin from his bank, so that his business will grow well goodluck to him, but my own opinion I we suggest that everyone should buy bitcoin directly from exchange and store their bitcoin by themselves instead of buying bitcoin from unbelievers banks like the person of Jamie dimon who have called bitcoin a scam before.

They are just in for profit, they don't care about their client.  At least they are honest on not to custody the Bitcoin purchase from their bank, and yeah instead of giving the people profit, it is better to transact directly to an exchange and keep it ourselves.

Funny how Jamie Dimon despises Bitcoin and yet he is allowing his bank to process Bitcoin purchases.  It is all business for him even if it is against his standard as long as he can get profit he will allow it.

13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When U choose to gamble, do you already accept that losing is part of the deal? on: May 19, 2025, 02:24:44 PM
I know this is a pretty general topic, but I want to know, do you have that mindset already? That it’s okay to lose as long as you’re having fun?

The moment I deposit an amount of money to may bankroll, I already consider them losses.  This way I don't have any worries about losing them.  It also gives more joy when the expected losing session turns a huge winning session.

Or are you the kind of gambler who believes you’ll eventually get so good you’ll beat the odds and actually make a profit? Not like most of us, right?  Cheesy

No, I know there is a chance of winning but for me, it is better to expect the worse than assume of getting the best.  If we think that we will get a good result in our gambling session and we did not, it will only disappoint us, irritate us or annoy us.  It will have a negative impact to us emotionally which is not good unlike accepting that the session will probably be another losing one.  I gamble for fun anyway, any winnings is just a bonus, that is what I always thought when I engage in gambling.

15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever think of how you started gambling? on: May 19, 2025, 01:27:26 PM
Mine, I got involved in gambling when I was in elementary, playing a card game called Lucky 9.  It was a popular game in the neighborhood together with Chinese Poker.  I am having a hard time learning Chinese Poker because mostly it was played by adults so I stick with Lucky 9.

I can't remember I ever had a huge win in gambling during those times.  The best result I got was an even result where I retained my bankroll funds. Most of the time I lost.

You're right that people who are gifted in gambling are rare to find, probably why I haven't come across one before.

Same here, I thought I have seen one but I lookling back that person also loses more than she was winning.  It is that she won more frequent than I do.  Grin

Quote
Personally, I do not believe in having that special gambling gift from birth
.

The world is mysterious and deep, there are lots of mysteries that man yet discovered of if they did, they deny it.  Although unbelievable, I think that there are certain things that is far beyond our understanding.  So I am neutral whether there is someone who is born with  4 club cover on their mouth (being lucky).

Quote
I don't even believe in divinity or any superpowers where gambling is concerned. If all these gifts were really true, many casinos would have been shut down because these special guys would definitely have an edge over the casinos.

This is a con.  There is no such thing as a gambling divination.

16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An important day about Bitcoin that I think we are not celebrating on: May 19, 2025, 12:46:19 PM

Yes he used 10,000 Bitcoin to buy pizza and I doubt at that time if he actually saw any future in holding Bitcoin, but we can not completely know because after that there was still enough time for him to get back on track if he actually wanted to do so.

The most important on that time is to make a milestone of purchasing tangible things with Bitcoin.  His action pave way for Bitcoin adoption worldwide.  About Laszlo Hanyecz view on Bitcoin, all we got is speculation since he never publicly express his view on Bitcoin, he even did not disclose his Bitcoin holdings.  It is arguable whether Laszlo did not see any future in holding Bitcoin.  It can only be answered by Laszlo Hanyecz himself.

Although it wasn't rampant for a pizza house to collect Bitcoin but in this case that was the situation. Deep down I will feel that it would be justification is that 10,000 Bitcoin was held by who received it.

The person who received the payment is Jeremy Sturdivant and no the 10k BTC payment were not held instead was spent since Jeremy Sturdivant saw the opportunity to participate in the growing Bitcoin experiment.[1]

17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is a never ending storm on: May 19, 2025, 02:15:46 AM
Having the discipline to let go of your losses is not easy especially if you are an addicted gambler. A lot of gamblers lack self-control that's why they keep throwing their money away because they can't help themselves... chasing your losses is one of the most stupid mistake  any gambler can ever make...it feels like chasing something that doesn't exist or should I say it feels like chasing your shadow.

Not only chasing losses but also chasing wins.  I think chasing a win is also one of the most stupid mistake of any gambler.  Not because a gambler heard someone won a huge amount, he wanted to duplicate the winning thus he bet aggressively hoping to also win a huge amount.

Btw, an addicted gambler already lost its control since he already can't control the urge to gamble.  I think an addicted person needs a serious medical attention in order to recover the control.  If a gambler is already addicted,  control is almost non-existent so it is not a matter whether gambling is hard to control or not since there is already no control at all.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Illusion of Competition in Different Casino Brands with one Parent Company on: May 18, 2025, 05:54:39 PM
It is a strategy of a company to have a more successful venture in gambling industry.  According to this article[1] gambling companies open different brands of gambling casinos because of the following reasons:

Reaching Different Player Segments - to cater to the different interests gambler.
Localized and Regulatory Adaption - to be compliant to the rules and regulation of the country's target aundience.
Testing and Innovation - testing new ideas in a newly established casino brand is way safer than testing it on the existing one.
Risk Diversification - aim is to distribute the risk and to have a more stable and safer operation.

I also quoted another reasons why gambling company are establishing multiple brands:

Gambling operators often run multiple brands for a variety of reasons:

Market Segmentation: Different brands can target different segments of the market. For example, one brand might cater to high-stakes gamblers, while another might focus on casual players.
Brand Diversification: Having multiple brands allows a company to diversify its risk. If one brand faces issues or loses popularity, the other brands can continue to generate revenue.
Derisking: If one of your many brands gets a bad reputation, your other brands remain competitive and protected.
Competitive Advantage: Multiple brands can help a company occupy more "shelf space" in the market, making it harder for competitors to gain market share.
Customer Retention: If customers become dissatisfied with one brand, they might switch to another brand within the same company rather than going to a competitor.
Regulatory Reasons: In some jurisdictions, a company might be limited in the number of licenses it can hold under a single brand.

19  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Possible or Feasible ba ang solar electricity sa Bitcoin mining? on: May 18, 2025, 05:11:25 PM

20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin help a poor country or nation on: May 18, 2025, 04:04:37 PM
I think Bitcoin can help a poor country or nation by protecting it's asset from hyper inflation and economic collapse and that if the country invests on it just like what El Salvador, Bhutan and some US states did. Bitcoin being a decentralized asset to a specific country will ensure it's people that the said asset is safe and secure.
It is not as easy as you make it seem. Even if the country were to invest in Bitcoin, it would take years for that investment to mature before the country starts seeing the benefits. Don’t forget, the country is poor, so whatever amount they invest will have a significant economic impact on the country in the meantime.

A country does not need to invest money in Bitcoin in order for Bitcoin to help its country especially when the funding of the country is not sufficient enough for its local/nationa projects.  All the government need is to stimulate blockchain investors and company to invest in their country establishing crypto-related infrastructure.  To do that the government must tailor their regulation in favor of cryptocurrency.  They should create Bitcoin friendly law and welcome the adoption of Blockchain technology.  The result of this move is way faster than spending government stash to invest in Bitcoin because once all is polished and deals were made, the development of Crypto industry on the country will start to initiate thus giving job opportunities and investment opportunities for people.  As I stated on my previous reply, government then will enjoy taxes both from the company and the people who happen to get jobs from these collaboration.

Individuals can invest in Bitcoin to help themselves, but as a country, they need to diversify their economy, create multiple streams of revenue, create employment opportunities, and adjust their economic policies to accommodate both local and foreign investors. There is a lot of work to be done to eradicate poverty in these poor countries. Bitcoin alone cannot do it.

Yes, there are a lot of things to be done, and Bitcoin can't help if the government refuses to accept its adoption.  In fact, the government needs to do all the effort and use Bitcoin as a tool to improve the way of living of its constituents.
