I don't know, either this is the longest shakeout and preparation for an epic pump - or LTC really is dying like apparently every other alt out there right now. Tough times to be in crypto for sure.

If you look at the markets the past days, then UNO is like a calm island in a see of storms.
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HMY] HarmonyCoin|New Wallets|Live On Bittrex|X13|100% POS on: August 13, 2014, 09:03:11 PM
Here is the new poll, and the final poll. Whatever you guys choose is what will happen.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=736185.new#new
LOL I missed both polls, those were really long running. Not. :/

I suppose it doesn't matter anymore, I agree this coin is damaged goods now. Only a week or two ago things were acrually looking up, but after this mudfight? I really don't get why you had to waltz into this thread with this sudden lock and drama and blow everything up CA. I respect that you are trying to do right by early investors now. But what were you thinking that night, were you drunk?

Shit, >1 BTC down the drain and most of it after July 1st. Just one question. Who is the guy still willing to buy almost 1 BTC worth of Harmony even after all of this? A hopeless optimist?
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update Now to 0.9.5 wallet on: August 12, 2014, 12:41:08 PM
Well folks we did it. We just passed the 190k coins mark. Hooorah!

To celebrate I updated the homepage. Here's a changelist:
* Added new section: Team (if any member wants something changed, message me!)
* Fixed nethash stat (yay!)
* removed network graph and infoblock (the API problems persist, I can get the correct *current* nethash from a different API, but not a correct history right now. Will create a server-side workaround for this after my vacation - if there is demand)

Enjoy!

Finally got round to the previz that I said I'd post days and days ago. Having some trouble working out the mold with my manufacturer.

Is that ZBrush? Haven't used that in ages, such a fine tool...
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HMY] HarmonyCoin|New Wallets|Live On Bittrex|X13|100% POS on: August 12, 2014, 09:10:30 AM
Woah I go away for a couple of days and now this. Haven't got burned this badly on a coin in a while, boy were my instincts wrong on this one.  Shocked

CA, you are flip-flopping all over the place. First you lock this thread and say you will take a break (knowing this would crash the price, you're not that naive), then you come back and say you will support this coin by honoring your promised bounties. You explicitely asked if Sidi would continue with the coin and then, just after he says he would, you all of a sudden pull this stupid refund idea out of your hat. An idea which up to this point nobody had asked for. How about asking the community FIRST before deciding to spend the remaining ICO money in this destructive way? And by that I mean really asking here and actually waiting for a while and then measuring response.

Such a refund just reeks of the final act of a huge scam. Bittrex records are incomplete by now, even you yourself could not provide compelling proof of your own investments into the coin, so how to you expect others to do better? And even IF someone still had some proof he bought into the ICO, how can you be sure he hasn't long since dumped his coins and you're now in fact paying him twice? How can any of us be sure you aren't just sending coins to your own dummy accounts or something similar? This is just such a bad, bad idea.

This refund is like putting a death warrant on this coin. I would MUCH prefer you put the money you now intend to refund into a trusted fund. There are several possibilities how to do this, either a trusted board member, or an escrow service. Hell, maybe even ask Bittrex. We can - as a community - decide under which condition how much BTC should be payed upon completion of each taslk and that way at least ALL have a chance of rebuilding this coin and recovering some losses.

And the best part about it, you wouldn't have to bother yourself anymore with any of this. You said you need a break and are suffering health problems? Then just put Harmony's faith into someone else's hand and stop ruining this coin for everyone else.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update Now to 0.9.5 wallet on: August 08, 2014, 10:51:59 AM

The network is only 7 th/s, i sold 6 antminers in april and i considered my self a small time miner, that was 1.2 th/s worth. The network is abysmal considering it is sha. No where near the 300+ th/s that the uno.uno website proudly proclaims.
Yeah that's my fault, sorry for that. I'm not entirely sure why the numbers are wrong, as I always pull the latest data in realtime from the explorer API per JSONP request. For some reason the numbers are different (wrong), than what I get when I call the "regular" API without JSONP (unfortunatelly I can't just load that from the browser though). I think I already have a few options to fix this, I just haven't had the time to actually implement it yet. Again, sorry! I will make time for it the coming week!

Good stuff, but this is my favourite so far. +1

I hate to say it, but the Cryptsy situation does not look good. So many people are now having problems withdrawing their coins (not just UNO), often they seem to be stuck for days. Twitter and these forums are getting more and more of these reports. Add to that their absolutely catastrophic handling of the Viacoin situation (weeks on the wrong fork despite constant attempts by the dev team to contact them) and it looks like they're running blind right now. I hope I am wrong, but it doesn't feel right...

Exciting stuff, thanks for the good work socoban! Karma could benefit greatly from an easy to use API service for websites and apps. Maybe that's even something ptman and I could use for the Karma game, we're kinda stuck implementing the backend/payout system. Will need to read up on this API, thanks for the links and info.

So you throw away relationships and a reputation you've been building for months, harm a community you've been a part of and helped grow - all because of an internet comment from a random stranger?! That's so ... I don't have words for it actually!

[omitted]

I'm simply stating that you not tell members of our community to go kill themselves. It goes against what we stand for, obviously.

If you or someone else feels that it is the right thing to say to another member of the community (and not apologize and/or edit it to prove a point), then you or they are simply not a member of the Karma community and their posts are not welcome. That's bad Karma.

I'd personally rather focus on adding value to Karma not behaving like we're in 5th grade, so I'll leave it at that.
You are making a big thing out of something that is just bad behaviour on the internet. Neither Socoban or me are arguing.

You should not tell people what to do... And since Socoban is not apologetic I won't be either. Why don't you tell him to apologize since he started the whole thing.

How is the rich-list block explorer coming? Can we set a date or something? Last date I heard about was July 15th (or was that June?)... I really need to be out, like now. What if we say 24 hours from now? Is that enough time to get 0.25BTC together for an alternative block explorer?

I hope you know your condescending nature and unwillingness to address the core-issue that someone was being abuse to me and i just replied back in the same tone is the reason we need to move very fast on switching to other block explorer... In fact fuck it, let's say 6 hours instead of 24... That's midnight gmt.

I am shutting down the block-explorer because of you Kosmost. I've had it with you. 6 hours, go go go.

(edit: the only ressource available on the block explorer is the API, so merchants, pools, etc who rely on that can still get info from the blockchain)
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update Now to 0.9.5 wallet on: August 04, 2014, 02:46:08 PM

So I'm trying to figure out what to do with my $2.5K USD deposit at Cryptsy.  I really don't want to buy BTC there. The premium is just too much.

So I'm trying to figure out how to withdraw my USD from Cryptsy, put it into Coinbase, then transfer the BTC to Cryptsy then buy UNO.

Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.

-- Jelks

Jelks so you are saying Cryptsy is a Hotel California (or worse mtgox)?  You're $usd can checkin but it can never check out?

normally someone should be arbing that. That premium is suspicious.

The amount of information that Cryptsy requires to become "verified" is ridiculous. Coinbase wanted a bank account link and ID questions. Cryptsy wants a state-issued picture ID scan, a photo scan of a utility bill, ID questions, and A PICTURE OF YOU HOLDING YOUR STATE ISSUED ID. Not saying this is bad, but good grief, its very "centralized" for decentralized currency. Likely its done at state or federal direction (right? no private company would need this much info on users of these obscure digital bits, right?) We do ever so love Cryptsy, but that's pretty intrusive.
At least you won't need to be nude on the picture ... yet.

Is ICO still open? want to buy some...
Even better, you can get them below IPO-price on Bittrex now. You can get 1% of total coin supply for only ~0.34 BTC. Crazy cheap if you ask me.
Correction: Now it costs >0.5BTC to get 1% of coin supply. Cheap coins running out soon?
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HMY] HarmonyCoin|New Wallets|Live On Bittrex|X13|100% POS on: August 04, 2014, 12:59:29 PM
Good morning,

It is with great pleasure that i am announcing that i have now officially accepted the lead role in order to try and take HarmonyCoin to new heights. I am sorry for the delay, but i have had to prepare myself for this and analyse and discuss every single detail. We will be making major implementations and changes to HarmonyCoin, and although the team will be dedicated and ambitious it takes all of us as one united community to reach the maximum potential. Here is what we are looking to achieve in the next 10 days:

1) Tor Anonymity. This without any doubt is a priority and it seems that everyone in the community believes so too. It will be implemented next Monday (in a week).

2) Tor Nodes. CryptoAdvisor will post in the coming three days about tor nodes which are needed for testing tor anonymity and for it to work. He is responsible for this and he told me he will need the community to participate. By friday, tor nodes should be working.

3) Multipool. Triplef is working hard to bring it back up and he is close to finishing it, by next wednesday the multipool should be working with a whole lot of new features including automatic payouts. He will be posting soon in this thread about the new developments of the multipool and all the extra information.

4) We need a new website, and we are ready to listen to offers about it. We need a high quality website, something very polished so send us a private message if you want to take on the job. The bounty at the moment is 0.25 btc for anybody interested, but please talk to us before so we agree on the details. If you think you deserve more than just 0.25 btc send us a message to the HarmonyCoin BCT account; we will listen to offers.

5) Logo Contest. We are also looking to organise a logo contest. More details will be posted soon.

6) Irc wallet problem. The irc problem with the new wallet will be solved in the coming days.

7) Team. We have brought in two new experienced members to the team to accelerate the development of the coin and DailyModo has left us.

This is the planning for the next 10 days, and i can assure you that we will do the maximum in order to achieve all of this on time -if not before. As you have probably realised, this all will be achieved in 10 days or less, after that a new set of goals will be decided and we will again work hard to realise them. Everything the community has mentioned has and will be taken into consideration, and our team will analyse the priorities and how to achieve them.

New features for later weeks we will try to implement will include -amongst others- HarmonyPay, improvements to multipool, wallet with exchange inbuilt, wallet that can hold btc and hmy, android wallet that can stake and other ideas that will be new to the altcoin community and some that the altcoin community have long hoped to achieve but that no one has yet achieved (we hope to be the first and we will announce all of these when the right time comes along). We are also here to work together and to listen to different proposals, so if you have any new ideas or anything you want to see us implement in HarmonyCoin, please do not forget to inform us.

Apart from this, we have already set our marketing approach and communication one and the results will be observed quickly. We are willing to make harmony the best, or the minimum is one of the best with a long-term perspective but at the same time with quick and efficient results. Together we should be able to achieve this!

(Please not that from now on i will be using the HarmonyCoin BCT account instead of my personal account. I also am going to be the person posting in twitter as i have access to it now.)

Sincerely,
Sid

It is a fair review, even if I had scored higher (wouldn't we all Wink). They make some good points, but I think they are being a bit narrow minded in their innovation category. Seems like they are focusing only on technological innovations, which I will grant them are pretty limited for Karma until now (though there's some interesting stuff coming up).

But the real innovation in Karma lies in the Karmashares LLC and the IPOCOs, which have the potential to become a much more important innovation than any gimmicky anonymous/video/chat/message/coinmixing wallet integration can ever hope to be. Those are features that are mostly created to appeal to traders (in hope to encourage a whale to P'N'D the coin) and maybe hardcore enthusiasts. Only a few coins really focus on usability, new target audiences and future mass adoption, Karma is one of those. We'll see which kind of innovation really counts in the long run...

Detailed/thorough article about Karma Ryan Nguyen tweeted:
http://www.coinssource.com/crypto-coins/karmacoin/

The total score is lower than I would have expected although the site has a very tough rating system.

My thoughts on how to improve the categories the article reviews are below:

Involvement:
Just by posting to this thread you are being involved! Hopefully the Karma community will continue to grow which will increase involvement. Initiatives that spread the word about Karma will greatly help with these. There are currently several initiatives under way on the Karmashares forums which will help with this, one of which I have discussed again below.

Market Liquidity
The biggest thing dragging Karma down in total score is Market Liquidity.

Increasing usage/adoption in all forms will help with this, there are too many ways to do this to list, many of which are being worked on.

However,  a large contributing factor to this could be the granularity issue on the Bitcoin market which I believe could be greatly helped by implementing price per 1,000 Karma on Bitcoin markets. I will keep plugging away at this because I believe it is the most important thing for Karma's future, the sooner it is implemented the better.

Innovation
I think our innovation score should go up after we introduce the side chain but I think it is unlikely Karma will ever focus on innovation, nor does it need to.

Coins Source’s Outlook
I agree with the assessment regarding selling Lill.com as this would be huge, even if it were for any seven figure sum.

I think having a dedicated tipping app for Karma is the second most important thing for Karma's future, the sooner it is implemented the better. Please provide your thoughts in this thread:
http://karmashares.com/forums/index.php/topic,535.0/topicseen.html

Chargin.

Thanks for the easy guide V500!

For ultimate safety and long-term cold storage I can also reccomend the oldschool "boot-ofline-from-linux-live-cd-then-generate-paper-wallet" scenario. Much easier than it sounds actually...

altcoingood relax. I know you felt offended by socoban's posts. But telling someone to go kill himself is just not cool. Like never. You don't win arguments by lowering yourself to such standards. This is not about keeping this thread nice and clean for "investors", its about maintaining a certain standard in communicating with each other. And then accusing kosmost of only worrying about price? kosmost of all people?! Dude I don't know to begin, that's just wrong on so many levels!

Just cool off and take a step back. socoban was rude, maybe. But he didn't attack YOU, he attacked the explorer and called the software prehistoric. An appropriate reply would have been something like "Operating a block explorer is no walk in the park, why don't you show us you can do it better before mouthing off?" and be done with it.

OMG, this soft is prehistorical:(
You are taking up precious space and air. Please kill yourself.

Why does it need 16GB ram?  Bitcoin insight API + bitcoind client requires only 2GB ram as minimum + 80 GB HDD (40GB blockchain + 40 gb DB for insight api).
HAHAHAA good fucking luck getting anything semi-interactive out of that setup... You want to sort through a 40GB LevelDB database using 2GB ram... LOL. You crack me up, maybe you should stick around a little longer. We need some comedic relief here.

Please refer to the Karma and Karmashares Code of Ethics and Conduct at http://karmashares.com/forums/index.php?topic=391.msg1887#msg1887 if you have not already.

You would do well to edit your post. It's bad karma.

Although you are not a member of the team, others in the community look up to you that way for the work you have done for Karma. It is very much appreciated but does not entitle us to be disrespectful to others by telling them to go kill themselves.

If I threw a fit every time someone commented that Lill was primitive I would have died weeks ago of a heart attack. The fact is that no one else can do it, and no one else has put together a block explorer for Karma. I'm sure most of us here want you alive Smiley

thanks for your understanding.
Oh I think I understand. You don't want drama because you are terrified that if potential investors see any kind of "drama" in the bitcointalk thread, prices (and possibly the sky) will fall. That is simply not true. Investors care about...........wait for it................... PROFIT.

Since our infrastructure is in a working state and our source code is actively developed and we forked I only see good things ahead for karma, and I am sure investors will too.

Bitcointalk-thread is only to check if developers are active and are developing, not their personalities or anyone else's personality for that matter(!!!) (I don't even consider myself a karma-dev (hiro is the new dev, kcg was the old dev)).

Also I just want to underline that I am not throwing a fit, this guy was a jerk. I finally responded to him in his own language after he kept going.

I'll remind you that Linux is actively being developed has tons of investors that throw money after it and sometimes has very harsh language on its mailinglists.

I am just gonna quote the whole thing that led up to my outburst since you left it out, Kosmost. Out of the blue this guy posts this:
Karma blockain explorer is useless. Piece of shit. I can't search on it. I can only check total coins on address. I can't see transactions. Why is it that? How can I check all transactions on an address?
After that I offered him an lengthy explanation about various parts of the stack (webserver (apache/nginx)), db, vps, source-code and a link to the blockparser to which he replied:
OMG, this soft is prehistorical:(
This is all I have to say about this. He was abusive, I trolled back. No biggie.

Quote from: kosmost
You would do well to edit your post. It's bad karma.
Yeah well first of all I am not going to do that because I wrote it I should answer for it. Second of all you quoted the whole thing so it would be pointless Tongue

And please please please get the rich-list explorer up and running asap.
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update Now to 0.9.5 wallet on: August 04, 2014, 08:15:42 AM
How does one address have 56K UNO?  That can't be a good thing~!

I would be very surprised if that was not Cryptsy's cold storage address.
I said so my initial impression post after the wallet showed up, even though it seemed like a stupid idea at the time as it just seems retarded for an exchange to put all eggs into one basket. But that was BEFORE I saw their on-site-notice about changing wallet setup. So yeah - Cryptsy is more likely. Stupid move, no matter how secure they think their setup is.

Sigh - why do people store so much in an exchange? Did MtGox, CoinEx, Coinmarkets, Cryptorush, the Poloniex theft and the recent Mintpal hacks teach people nothing? Hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars worth of coins were stolen from exchanges just in the past few months. I mean serisouly, don't store your coins on an exchange, just don't!

it has rich list, large wallets and other features.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=571254.0

should we set up a donation addy and get this set up as well?

This explorer is popular. Why do we need to create donations funds all the time? KarmaShares LTC owns 9 billion KARM. What are those coins for? OK, dumping them is stupid, but if there is such an important service like cool blockchain explorer for 0.25 BTC/YEAR, those money should be used. That explorer is used by many users, it will bring more attention and more people to KARMA & KarmaShares anyway.

because you are complaining of services karma member willingly and free are giving you. he has said he is working on trying to fix the bug on his explorer. And since your impatient i offered to collect donation and open that outsource service.

and as far as selling coin to get things done. Please look around you will see that our investors coins are still untouched and all the possible fees that have been paid so far has come between 10-14 team members.

all the site, services all have been picked up by our own personal money. Services that have raised the value of the coin to what is now. Not to mention Kosmost's budget that has made three Ipocos be in Beta mode. Lill.com. you thing it work for free? all the software coding?

so, all i am saying is that if you want an alternate explorer right away. ask a few people to chip in 0.25 BTCs and set it up.

Sometimes its better to take things in your own hand and get a solution

: )

I was involved in getting Chainz service setup for Unobtanium's community. The dev is very responsive and constantly improving his service. When I had questions about their API he added new features for me basically overnight. So I can reccomend it.

Unobtanium also had other explorers, but there's always value in having a good backup, and features like the rich list, coin distribution and largest wallet are quite nice. Funding was also achieved with donations. No need for the LLC to pay for this IMO.

on 1st of august this year the price for uno will be: .0061

Looks like at least that part of my prediction might work out, we've crossed the .006 area on Mintpal today (0.0065 was last price). We'll find out tomorrow.

My estimated high was broken on May 16th and again almost reached on May 18th. Sadly my predicted low of .0043 was too optimistic. The average price would also be lower than my estimate. All things considered a decent enough prediction though I guess. Wink
