1  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Scrypt ASIC / SHA-256 combo miners Pics details on: January 22, 2014, 09:39:29 PM
GPU's are more profittable and cheaper. Fact. These aren't worth it unless your electric rate is something like 50 cents per kwh.

Please be advised, I have taken care of my situation and the negative rating on my Trust score has been removed.

How did you calculate the 1360$? At 65$ per chip it would total 65*5*10=3250$
Obviously they are charging the crap out of this chip because they are the only ones that have it.

no need to calculate.

They listed price as 8300 RMB that is = $1360.

Do you have eyes? It's $1360 for 3,600 hash. Much cheaper than GPU rigs.

Mistake !! 1 Unit = 65$. So, 10 units = 650$ for 600-700Kh/s max !!

1 unit has 6 chips in it.
10 units = 60 chips (3,600 hash)

Source ?

If you go to the link and read the specs, you see it says Gridseed GC3355 X 5. Which means each USB device contains 5 chips. Each chip does around ~60 KH/s. So one of the USB devices will do ~300KH/s. They are selling them in batches of 10. So for the $1360 you get 10 of them. Basically totalling ~3.0 MH/s

Here's what is says in chinese:

品牌:Gridseed 格瑞思捷

芯片:Gridseed GC3355 X 5

You can see it says there are 5 chips in the device.

Goodbye GPU mining.

Once again the 630mh/s and growing is not a botnet of infected PC's -- this is a mining farm in china. Read the thread back a few hundred pages for the whole discussion.

Yeah, I mean no one makes shit up on the internet, right???

 Roll Eyes

I'm pretty sure I read a while back that h2o confirmed this. I assume by seeing that it comes from a single ip address...

Single IP confirms nothing. Could be going through a VPN/proxy.

USEast server is down
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 06, 2014, 08:07:41 PM
H2O claims this pool is his full time job + 2 employees he has...but he rarely ever posts.

Now this guy with 500 MHash is leaving the pool because it is making less than straight mining Litecoin. He knows whats up!

I trust h2o, today is special,
Hight profit of hight risks.
h20 can't control the price of BTC LTC and altcoin.

I agree with you. But the pool is mining Litecoin and still making less than if you guys mined Litecoin yourself or in a different pool.

Seeing a 6% reject rate guys...what could be the reason I have no hw errors! Have left 100kb open for the mining pc itself and yet this. I don't know whats happening. I use eu server and cgminer 3.7.2 linux with a 7950. Could it be the intensity at 20?

A couple pages back H2O acknowledge the USA server has a bug that is causing lower hash rate, when I asked him when it will be fixed, he replied that he has no idea.

Still have getwork failure errors on US server. It has gone down since H2O put the fix in, but still exist.

I'm sick of this s***
I do not care who and where money get sent as long as the pool gives me good results. By that I mean better than direct LTC mining.
As someone said ... this is a private pool. If you want transparency .... make your own pool. If you want to know everything .... start mining 100 different s*** coins yourself.
tealover: And please leave this scam pool. We do not want you here. We would love to be blind and dumb and mine at middlecoin without you.

Actually it's a PUBLIC pool. There's no registration like private pools.

The US server now has the new code, which doesn't disconnect on coin switches. It's bugged to have 1% extra rejects, which show up as "duplicate shares".

This is great news. Is the ETA until bug fix still Sunday?

Does anyone know whether the above changes are the same as the 5-minute failover interval that is discussed at below links?  Just wondering if there are additional improvements that can still be made.
They're not the same. The keepalive changes only modify how long it takes before a dead connection is discovered.

You can find the failover interval value in the code section after the "Only switch pools if the failback pool has been" comment in cgminer.c.
It's 300 seconds by default, but I've lowered it to 60 seconds in my version.

Which file do I edit? Do you just open it with notepad? I'd rather modify it myself than download somebody else's update, no offense.
