301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New rig advice on: September 25, 2019, 09:06:55 AM
So... you're not really giving up on mining with $0.15 per kWh? With all the maintenance costs and this price of electricity, I'd recommend you to get your solar energy system completed before increasing the number of your rigs (that solar setup should be your priority IMO). I gave up on mining due to having the power valued at $0.12 per kWh (it didn't really look like being worth it even at that price), and it's interesting to see someone else trying to build up a mini mining farm with an electricity cost more than mine; I sort of appreciate that!

About the wallets, it totally depends upon what YOU are going to plan with your mining revenue. Do you plan on trading them? Or just HODLing them?

There is good stories and there is bad stories. My personal experience has been quite good, started mining eth in 2016 with 13c € a kw/h , paid power from my poket. And managed to make good few Zeross with only 6 mining rigs. Its not a luck, i belive harder you work luckier you get...ha ha ha

Thanks for your help / advice guys... always better to hear other peoples views.

I am hopefully planning add 2 x AMD rigs to compliment our existing 580 rig...

and then start adding Nvidia rigs aswell to make a mini farm.

I have not looked into the 1660ti so I will do some research into these... but its looking likely I will have 1070 and 1660ti rigs going forward.

Do you guys mine to coinbase wallets and extract onto a Ledger Nano or sell/trade weekly/monthly?

Thanks

Another Card you should look into is latest AMD RX5700/XT , Very efficient mining ETH about 60mh/s at 100watt.
Best To use ofcourse is some ledger wallet, but if you want to wash them trough exchange. Use some exchange where you can deal without KYC Cheesy
Think Binance has 2k daily limit without KYC

At that power price, mining will be quite tough now.
But the most suitable cards which will be at profit mining eth at that electric price , would be 1660TI . They are very energy efficient. But also quite pricey. They are quite efficient also on algorithms for grin, raven beam etc...
Current profibilaty 6xgpu 1660ti mining rig at your electric price.

Checkout i did some benchmark testing :

305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: +50% hash rate - Immersion cooling mining farm on: September 23, 2019, 09:24:34 AM
Nope, I think the idea is a bit different. Of course you can achieve this hashrate without immersion cooling. But you won't be able to keep it stable without good cooling system as ASICS would be overheated. That's why I think that their solution is good.

Not true, im running 18th/s for 6 month now and no issue. Of course climate here is around 20c all the time.

What firmware do you use to reach this results and what is the temprature on chips?

I use hiveos with asicboost https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcS-kFhi1aM&t=
Power usage at 18.3th/s is 1850watt . Chip temperatures are 70-80c

Is it yours youtube channel?

yes

Hello, guys

Take a look on this exclusive mining farm by Beeminer. This immersion cooling installation for mining level ups your hash rate in 1.5 times.

Here is the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7eza5FpIH0&t=4s

There are some more advantages: no pollution on ASICS, no noize, stable temprature.

Waste of money, i can reach same hash-rates without immersion cooling. If he is saying its 1.5 faster , it doesn't mean this is achieved from cooling its achieved by software.
In cool enough environment (under 20c) you can cool them down with much cheaper solutions like containers etc...

but there are countries where the climate is hot and you need this solution probably. do you have your hashrate stable on the level like this?

Well yes only if outside temperature is over 30c. Im not saying you cannot use it, the video is total joke. Its been said there this hashrate is been achieved because of immersion cooling, bs.

311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Staking ATOM Tokens on COSMOS block-chain on: September 17, 2019, 12:42:23 PM
There are several reasons for price increase of ATOM token. First of all, they have announced the staking model, which is less valuable in media sphere. But the big price increase is happening because of Binance. They have added ATOM to margin trading 10 hours ago.

Yes as always speculation Smiley But project seems very interesting.
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Staking ATOM Tokens on COSMOS block-chain on: September 17, 2019, 09:36:07 AM
I want to follow atomic staking, but the price is very expensive and continues to rise, and the problem is I do not know how to set a wallet to be able to staking,
is there a wallet that we don't need to make special settings but we can staking easily.

Do you use ledger nano wallet ?
It's actually quite easy, checkout the video i have posted it might help.
What i was using was ledger wallet and then opened web wallet https://lunie.io where i started staking in 5 mins. Good thing i like about ATOM staking that it isnt like Stratis where you need you pc running all the time. You just delegate your coins to Validator and take the same profit if validator doesnt have fees.
313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Staking ATOM Tokens on COSMOS block-chain on: September 17, 2019, 09:32:48 AM

Just my opinion , as there is less and less supply in market. Because more and more Atom Tokens are locked up for staking. It will be extremely volatile.
Also usually new comes after price rise Cheesy
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best hardware for monero rig ? (RandomX) on: September 16, 2019, 03:28:57 PM
Think the best setup is need to get motherboard which supports multiple gpu 6+
That way you wont waste your money, just building a CPU rig.
I would go for Biostar TB350 and Ryzen9 3900x
Add some Nvidia 1660 ti or AMD RX570. Do CPU and GPU mining at the same time. Use CPU to mine Monero and with GPUs for example mine Ethereum.
315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Staking ATOM Tokens on COSMOS block-chain on: September 16, 2019, 08:51:39 AM
any news ?

You mean why the price keeps going up?
316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best hardware for monero rig ? (RandomX) on: September 14, 2019, 08:35:39 AM
As for motherboard i would go with the msi B450 Tomahawk or the msi B450-a pro but all msi b450 boards have the bios button.
Easy to flash the motherboards without cpus.

what type of ram for 55?

i have bought a 190€ board , because was the cheapest. and now price of 3900x is 780€.

price in europe skyrocketing every day

Is there any dual CPU boards for Ryzen 9 3900x?
317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How can we figure out the Quality mining rig on: September 11, 2019, 12:27:38 PM
To build our own mining rig, we require best mining GPUs, best mining CPU, best mining mother boards and best mining SSDs which help us to get started but to effectively and efficiently mine cryptos how can we find the outstanding quality rigs. Do I also need to implement any other switches?
very true.. without the right component rigs begin to crash or have many problems .. i dont know how people do to mine with celeron . i tried it and the rig is very slow and crashes on many algos. i was thinking the same thing. we need the right stuff to mine. processor ryzen or i7 . many gb of ram . good risers . good mobo . good psu .

If you are for mining profits, it doesn't make sense to use expensive hardware for mining. Most expensive should be only your gpus which are actually used for mining. Other parts like CPU and RAM are not as important as 4gb cheapest ram and cheapest celeron cpu is enough to build 12gpu system on linux mining software. Which will be rock stable.
You want your parts cheap as possible , so you get back your investment as fast as possible.

Gpu is what you have to make up your mind, do you want price per hash or price per watt, also which coins you will be mining as different coins different gpus are more efficient, for example some with nvidia some with amd.
All other components is very easy take a case like this, price is crazy cheap to start.

Installation also easy.

319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: First GPU Mining Rig on: September 09, 2019, 09:05:37 AM

the power consumption is really very high
all rx580 cards can be undervolt to get 30 mhs for 75 to 80w per card
try reducing core and core voltage
it will reduce the power a lot
less power consumption lower temps

The RX580 won't get 80Watts @ 30MH/s. The absolute best would maybe be about 120 Watts. When you measure power consumption you need to actually use a watt meter and not the figure that you see in GPU-z. That figure refers to the GPU wattage consumption and doesn't include the consumption used by the memory controller and other parts of the GPU.

I think the best figure I ever got was like 120 Watts @ 27.5 MH/s and this was with the highest ASIC quality GPU i had. Going any lower wasn't possible because it got freezing issues.

So if you got a 6 GPU rig then what you should expect is about ~750 Watts about 120Watts per GPU and 30 Watts or so for the memory, CPU, motherboard, etc.

Yes RX580 is more power hungry then RX570, my best performance rig for 6xRX580 is 710w at 188mh. Lot depends also from card, memory and BIOS modification, like the sapphire Nitros and MSI gaming uses the least power.

Hi,

I have now made the switch over to HIVEOS as it is a free option and fairly easy to use.

I am setup mining ETH for now just to make sure settings are correct and fund are being recieved at the wallet address.

My question is this?

I am miining using RX 580 8GB Strix ROG - and I am pulling 155.5mhs for 890W (according to HIVEOS) - does this seam right or should I be getting more?

Thanks

Anthony

How many gpus you have 6x ? If so hashrate should be over 185mh/s . Do you have screenshot of your OC settings?

Hi,

I have been looking around and this is what has been suggested and the most I can personally get...

Let me know your thoughts.

https://ibb.co/1ZGPtk3

Thanks

Yes still seems quite low , just a sample http://prntscr.com/p2l7f8 , these are the RX580 4gb. Is your cards modified? RX580 8gb memory clock max is 2250mhz so you can try push a bit more. Also at overclock setting where is mem tweak tool insert value 30. If still face issue you can pm me and i could help you when will have free time.
