Betfury has started to increase there KYC checks, will this lead to a lower rating?
KYC does lead to lower ratings. I'm posting a chart soon of KYC criteria for each book.

That's a good idea, it will be added although it may take a little time. Ralle was the first to post in this thread about the closing of BetBTC.
That's good to hear. Newbies or those who haven't know this yet can check if KYC is needed to be able to bet or not or only implemented when withdrawing a huge sum of money. I think this thread is a good pair with this thread made by Pmalek but it is about withdrawal fee, minimum withdrawal amount and cryptocurrency accepted which some of the site listed in this one is also listed on the other one. More like a
Wow, there's some great information there. I'd also like to add that some very intrusive questions have been asked of some of the books to help with ratings such as the amount of employees. Most books are very easy to deal with.

628  Economy / Gambling / Re: #1 RATINGS of BITCOIN SPORTSBOOKS : poster book discussion on: August 24, 2021, 08:20:25 PM
Good to see this thread being updated like mentioning the betbtc.co bwing closed and more. I have used this thread for checking out which sportsbooks are trusted to bet but I do know some trusted yet I still use this thread to share it with my friends when they want to know which sportsbook to bet safely. Anyway, are you planning on adding additional information in that list if they implement KYC or not?. I think it is a good choice to do that as some may not like or not fan of KYC just a suggestion though we can check it on the site itself if they ask for kyc or not and when they will ask for kyc.

That's a good idea, it will be added although it may take a little time. To give an idea of what will be done is the book will be asked what triggers KYC. I'll read this forum and some of the others looking at KYC problems. Then I may go back to the book and ask about some of the problems. As far as BetBTC, Ralle was the first to post in this thread about the closing of BetBTC.
629  Economy / Gambling / Re: #1 RATINGS of BITCOIN SPORTSBOOKS : poster book discussion on: August 24, 2021, 07:42:40 PM
dezeol - I don't see the ratings as being weird as you state when they coincide with ratings at this forum and others.
So, you want to get your own selection of results that proves that you are right and want to showcase that to everyone to try and see if you can get away with it? Sure go ahead, it is literally your own topic and you can put nitrogen to a+ while putting sportsbet.io to F, nobody will care if you do and people will keep on gambling and chatting at sportsbet.io 100 times more than nitrogen, but you will have fun getting the post ready at least. If you really want to look at real results, here are some;

https://cryptomaniaks.com/latest-cryptocurrency-news/best-crypto-sports-betting-sites
you gave this one, literally 8.9 for sportsbet.io, nitrogen is not even checked, you saw this and thought this was good for nitrogen? lol.

https://smartbettingguide.com/crypto-sports-betting/
Stake 9.6 while sportsbet.io is 9.06, no nitrogen.

I can find more, but do I really need to? I mean it is obvious that these days people do not even share nitrogen's ratings in most places, the most recent ones. If you keep googling "best sportsbook" then you are going to have hard time, most of them are old ratings, go check individual, and you will see how better it is.

It is not even about sportsbet.io being good or not, I don't care about that, let them be F all I care, who cares, it is just that I can't take any list where Nitrogen is the top one, while nobody is playing there anymore, sure is it safe?

Yeah, why not, but the fact that nobody is caring about it should play a role, no website with zero messages on their topic for days could ever be a+ in my book, if people do not talk about it, how could it ever be the "best"? In some stuff like security or KYC or support, they could be the best, but overall? Not a chance. But hey man, it is your place, list whatever you want, however you want.
Sportsbet did not answer my question on what would trigger a KYC request. Sportsbet is not going to get a good rating if they refuse to work with the thread. "C" is generous since the purpose of this thread is to help and inform players.

BCT rating guides have Nitrogen higher than Sportsbet. Using google, reviews have Nitrogen higher than Sportsbet. The 8.9 rating, I didn't see it as good for Nitrogen, was put up since it was on the first page of Google. I was trying to be fair to Sportsbet and not cherry pick. Players should look at multiple rating sites, not just this thread. It's always good to get more than one opinion.

630  Economy / Gambling / Re: #1 RATINGS of BITCOIN SPORTSBOOKS : poster book discussion on: August 23, 2021, 07:08:09 AM
Reminder to withdraw all funds from BetBTC. Also, do not multi-account at any sportsbook. This seems to be a major source of problems and KYC requests from a sportsbook. If there are two accounts from the same household, IP or computer, I'd recommend that you contact the book before playing making them aware of the situation. The above is not the only way that books determine a person multi-accounting. They've become very sophisticated in their abilities to track a person with multiple accounts being used to circumvent limits or abuse bonuses. The three ways mentioned previously are the easiest ways to get caught, but there are others. It's not worth the risk.
631  Economy / Gambling / Re: #1 RATINGS of BITCOIN SPORTSBOOKS : poster book discussion on: August 22, 2021, 10:05:09 PM
I sent a PM to Sportsbet asking what would trigger Sportsbet to ask for KYC. Paraphrasing, asking if it were multi-accounting, certain withdrawal amount or other. No reply was given.

In the review, it's posted that Sportsbet is very popular with the BCT community. Ratings can't be given out based on popularity. With sportsbooks, advertising plays a huge role in popularity. Some sites develop a huge community and interact with each other. Neither necessarily make it a quality book.

Using the criteria for the rating's guide, Sportsbet can't be rated higher than C. They have a high KYC rate compared to other sportsbook, their margins are high and they are one of the few books that doesn't reply to all questions.

Criteria used to rate a book.

~snip~
Interesting that you sidestepped all over the fact that the things you listed under A are not what people like, and the things you list under C are what people like. Popularity may or may not be a reason for people to gamble there, but when a "community voting of sportsbooks" (which this was supposed to be, but we all know it is just yours now) then majority clearly says that nitrogen sucks, big time, sure it is secure but it just so sucks and bad that even with security right there we just do not like to play there anymore.

On the other hand sportsbet.io "have a high KYC rate" is really not true, I have been there for 3 years and I have never received something like that, do not know if it is about big amount withdrawal for once or multiple smaller but I have done them all.

So, you can try to convince yourself a reason to "can't give more than C" but believe me, this doesn't hurt sportsbet.io, it hurts the fact that people stopped caring about your fake ratings that did not show the truth in everyone's minds and the weirder ratings you keep on giving, the further you push people off. Sorry.

Criteria used to rate a book.

1. Security - getting paid is by far most important.

2. Working with the forum. This is a player's thread and books are held responsible for their actions. Questions are asked of books concerning number of employees, time in business, experience, poster problems, etc. If a book is going to ignore a player's thread, they will be severely downgraded. Most books are very easy to work with.

Sportsbet has not answered the question concerning KYC. Do not multi-account with Nitrogen and Betcoin.

I just did a google search "sportsbook ratings Nitrogensports". It does help to reinforce Nitrogen as being a top book. Many sites are looked at to make sure there isn't a glaring error.
633  Economy / Gambling / Re: #1 RATINGS of BITCOIN SPORTSBOOKS : poster book discussion on: August 22, 2021, 06:46:44 AM
Peeps literally hated sportsbet.io for years, it is at least decent that he finally listed them. I mean we all KNOW that they are not C in this list, I am not saying they are not C in history of books, I have seen better and I would understand that, but checking the list, this isn't it, in a world where nitrogen is A+ (lol) I can assure you that I can start a website tomorrow and get C here, or that is how it should be.

Peeps cares about the "security" part way more than anything else, he doesn't probably care about anything else, he surely doesn't look at the entertainment value at all, because to be fair nitrogen has ZERO entertainment value, playbetr at least has some, but nitrogen is a dinosaur of a website that nobody cares anymore, look at the topic for nitrogen and look at the topic of playbetr or sportsbet.io or stake and see the difference.

So, it was always clear that this list was never really "the best sportsbooks" it was "the most secure sportsbooks" because if it was best, nitrogen would be a C- at the very best, it has been for about 3 years now, betcoin.ag could get C or C+, and places like Stake and Sportsbet.io would get A and A- and A+ , because those are the places where everyone plays, peeps literally telling us that "places you are playing mainly are not the places you should be playing mainly" with the list Cheesy.

I sent a PM to Sportsbet asking what would trigger Sportsbet to ask for KYC. Paraphrasing, asking if it were multi-accounting, certain withdrawal amount or other. No reply was given.

The following cannot be quantified as to importance since being highly detrimental in one category may supersede other criteria used.

3. Poster review - poster review is much more important at bitcointalk than other forums, but other forums are also read. A high review from a new book will weigh less than the review of a book that's been in existence 2+ years.

4. Anonymous - one of the reasons that bitcoin books are used is to stay anonymous. There may be times where it is necessary to question players but it should be a minimum.

5. Margins - If players are going to have a chance to beat a book the margins have to be tight enough to give us that chance. If the margins are larger than -110 (1.91) that's a big blow to a book's rating.

6. Payout speed - If the average is longer than one hour, a book will be downgraded. One hour is sufficient due to possible grading errors. A large book is dealing with a significant amount of money along with a huge player base.

7. Markets - The more betting options, the better.

8. Traffic  - time in business along with amount of players that a book has gives us a large sample size.

9. Currencies used - It's easier on the player if we are allowed to deposit and withdraw from alts.

Miscellaneous - Books accepting fiat currencies are omitted from the guide. Other forums are read to make sure the ratings here aren't significantly out of line with the average of other books.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There was an exception made for Sportsbet. Because of multiple poster requests and the fact that Sportsbet can keep balances in BTC, a rating was put up.

Sportsbet.io rating and review.

Opened: 2016
License: Curacao 1668/JAZ sub-license.
Currencies: Crypto and Fiat.
Banned countries: USA, UK, Australia, Estonia, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Afghanistan, Korea, Iran, Iraq, Myanmar, Trinidad and Tobago, Yemen.

Sportsbet is a big book with sponsorships of major soccer clubs. There are many betting options both pregame and live. Sportsbet is very popular here at bitcointalk.

The betting margins at Sportsbet are high. You won't find the best line on either side. There have been many complaints against Sportsbet but that comes with the territory of any good sized sportsbook. Most of the time that comes from disgruntled players but there may have been times where Sportsbet was incorrect. Many complaints have been posted where it was a he said, she said situation. A sportsbook needs to have solid proof of any infractions claimed. There are times when Sportsbet has provided no proof which makes it difficult to determine right or wrong. Sportsbet has confiscated both deposits and winnings. At other times they have just confiscated deposits. KYC has been asked for before these confiscations. Playing from a banned country will lead to a confiscation.

There are some other worrisome things concerning Sportsbet. It's a normal practice to require a one time rollover on deposits but Sportsbet has a rule of a 5x rollover if they suspect money laundering. If an account is inactive for 3 months, Sportsbet will send out a letter informing the player. One month after the letter, Sportsbet can charge a fee of 15% per month fee for administrative costs. In one section it states that Sportsbet may confiscate the balance after 180 days of inactivity. In another section it states one year. I don't know if the rules above have been invoked.

For the purposes of ratings, "A" and "B" books are recommended. There normally isn't any problems playing at a "C" book. "D" and "F" books should be avoided at all costs.

Sportsbet opens with a rating of "C".
It's a very interesting review, thank you for writing it but unfortunately you didn't put the links toward your other reviews in the topic. I'm looking for the review on Stake. Where can I find it please?

Do you have any knowledge of in what situations sportsbet ask for KYC. Is there purely a withdrawal threshold where they ask for KYC, and if so, what is that?
Yes, there is a withdrawal threshold for KYC here's the part that was mentioned in their terms and condition.

Also don't use RBF(replace by fee) on your deposits as it will trigger a "freeze" on your account, you'll be forced to contact the support and the security team to fix this issue.

Quote
9.2.  Sportsbet.io reserve the right to carry out additional KYC verification procedures for any withdrawals exceeding the equivalent of 1 Bitcoin or €2000 as regulated by our gaming license. Account Holders who wish to recover funds held in a closed, locked or excluded account are advised to contact our Customer Support.

Thanks for the post Ralle. I didn't know that RBF would trigger KYC or freeze at any book. If you know of others, please post.
