1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stories about lost Bitcoin on: July 04, 2023, 08:27:32 AM
This is just the way it goes. Lots of people fall victim to losing their Bitcoin, it's a learning experience.

I, for one, was the idiot who wrote a private key on a torn piece of envelope paper and left it on his nightstand, completely forgetting about it. 4 days later, I came to find out that my wife had mistaken it for trash and thrown it away. Upon realizing this, I instantly ran outside to the dumpster only to see it was empty. Pffft, no way I'm going to dig up a landfill, so I let it be. An experience in 2019 I learned from early on that brought me where I am today, The creator of the First Seed phrase notebook, The Shieldfolio stonebook.

Lol, so glad she threw that private key away.

If I remember my 24 words, I'd definitely have a backup, just in case.

Well, IMO, a simpler way to organize and manage multiple seed phrases is using the Stonebook, by www.Shieldfolio.com

It's New, a durable paper notebook that's water-resistant, to store mnemonic phrases & private keys.

Yes, well I did post this last year when I was grinding the Stonebook out of creation. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4453897.320
Was wanting to get feedback on the Shieldcrypt method, haha, I fixed the method a bit since then.

I post on reddit weekly just to get the product in front of people looking for a simpler way to store their seed phrases. Regarding the titanium plate cover, it will help with outside protection but unfortunately not in a fire.
I'm currently working on a Multi-layer fireproof bag at the moment, that can withstand the heat comparable to metal plates. I have a prototype finished that will be testing soon. Just to let you know Ive tried other bags but found out theyre not safe in a direct fire situation. It's crazy how these bags get sold on amazon, with people thinking their safe, but in reality they're not. Here is a video on a test I made.  https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R3J9XEC8SZ3ZGH?ref=va_cr_lb

What is an advertisement in ANN topic? I'm not too active on bitcointalk.

Hey guys, it’s great to see the first Stonebook thread on bitcointalk.
It’s an interesting notebook, definitely the first of its kind in the crypto space.

I remember sometime last year, I lost my Private key because of poor key management practices. I found out my Girl threw them to the trash 🤦‍♂️. I can’t blame her, it was written on a torn paper and looked like alphanumeric jibberish to any ordinary person. So after this, I decided to purchase a notebook. I was constantly writing and using this thing daily. I noticed pages were getting flimsy and tearing, water and coffee stains forced me to tear out a couple pages, I wasn’t comftorable keeping all my seed phrases in this thing, and I had plenty.

So, because I’ve experienced all these problems, I figured others might have as well. That’s why I founded Shieldfolio and created the Stonebook, so other crypto users don’t lose their digital fortune similar to myself.
It was the best 6 months of isolation creating this, I really tested myself,  I had to make sure this wasn’t an ordinary notebook, it had to be crafted the best for any Hodler.

I can answer some of these thread questions.

👻 Ghost Pen
- For legal specs I have to place the prop 65 warning label because I’m in California. Some permanent markers like sharpie have the same warning labels. Just don’t write on your self or sniff the marker and you should be okay.
- similar time a sharpie, the ink bleeds through the next page, so I suggest you write on every other page when using the ghost pen.

⚠️ Chemical acceptions
- so far I’ve tested that it’s resistant to oil, coffee, house paint(if not dried), and bleach. I have yet to test more. But if for any reason the ink comes off, you can always flip the page and glide a black crayon to reveal the writing. When you write in this book your also indenting similar to carving, on the stone paper. Great secondary backup option 👍🏼.

The Stonebook is not fireproof, so I recommend you place it in a fireproof safe if your looking for a long term storage option.

Im actually redoing the formula, noticed that bitcoin private keys are case sensitive.

true but would you rather have somebody find your paper wallet private keys in plain sight or give a challenge to the perp to securely prevent lost bitcoins. Of course I recommend you have another back up in a different location to prevent the central point of failure.

Im planning on implementing this in my notebook that is launching this year. A notebook to store private keys. Shieldfolio.com

The goal is to help users store private keys privately in case somebody stumbles upon these private keys.

Hey guys, Glad to see the forum is still going. I haven't been on here since Oct 2018, good to see new names. I'll post some better pictures of the 1/25 Red Brooklyn back cryptocurrency card once I receive it. Really didn't think I was going to win this, but luckily I did. Good to see these cards are still fetching hefty prices which is great that there  maintaining value. This is a pic I got so far from the seller so far, only the front.

My advice is to stockpile as much Cryptocurrency cards as you possibly can, especially the rarer ones. It’s only before time that the word gets out about these first collectible cards. The bidders I see on my cards are generally coming from this forum. That should tell you how undervalued and underforseen these cards are when it comes to the mass crypto adopters. Once these YouTube vloggers and crypto news media outlets get the word out, it will be pure mayhem on eBay, guarantee it. You thought these prices are rediculous, wait till you see the base Cryptocurrency cards selling for $50-$100 each.

Just like the crypto market, the bull run will be coming with these cards.

wheels, Bitcoin will keep gaining value as the Halving block reward drops every 4 years following the push towards mass adoption. He has until 2020 on that prediction, so lets see how it pans out.

Wow, I can see these crypto cards getting more valuable once bitcoin and cryptocurrencies become more mainstream. Nobody expected for bitcoin to hit almost $20K just like nobody expected this vault card to hit almost $2.5k.
by the way I snagged that Red 5/5 mini crypto card. Its a beautiful card, just had to get. was not aware there was a red version, was surprised when I saw it.
by the way love the thread page hybrid, thank's for posting the pics.
