No worries about the exit. FTC was always considered as the first (or at least one of the first) copy-paste clone of LTC. The one with the silliest name too... It's not a shame if it will evantaully vanish from earth..

I get also slightly higher pps. Before it was 6200pps when not processing other stuff. Now it's 6526pps..

Then I think your CPU is just not the beast we all think it should (at least for Primeocin mining)...

What kind of internet connection do you have? Maybe latency is very high...

Also post the contnts of ./primecoin/primecoin.conf please.


PS... you can watch closely what primecoin does while using:

if you want lesser updates than every 2 seconds than use e.g:

watch -n 5 'primecoind getmininginfo'

(every 5 seconds)

or even for a bit more info:

I just can't get my bitcoin client (v0.8.3.0-g40809ae-beta) to download the whole blockchain.

I tried everything

1. bitcoin-qt -reindex
2. only left wallet.dat in the user directory and -reindex
3. started with an empty user directory and -reindex
4. got bootstrap.dat and -reindex

I always waited for hours/days but at some point it always got stuck... best was 50 weeks

My machine shouldn't be the problem:AMD Phenom X1090 6x3.2 Ghz, 16GB RAM, SSDs.

What else could I try (besides of using an online wallet)?

Thanks for any hints...

Compiling for linux? e.g on Ubuntu 13.04 64bit it should work like this

1. update your apt sources

sudo apt-get update

2. install necessary packages

sudo apt-get install bzip2 git git-core subversion checkinstall build-essential libssl-dev libboost-all-dev libdb5.1-dev libdb5.1++-dev libgtk2.0-dev

3. get source files from sourceforge

wget http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/primecoin-hp/0.1.1-hp4/primecoin-0.1.1-hp4.tar.bz2

4. check downloades files for sha1sum: deb2673c5c8036ede4a2d1e944ce8b0e59e26c56

Code:
sha1sum 0.1.1-hp4/primecoin-0.1.1-hp4.tar.bz2

5. unzip

Code:
tar jxvf 0.1.1-hp4/primecoin-0.1.1-hp4.tar.bz2

6. enter source directory

cd primecoin-0.1.1-hp4/src

7. make

Code:
make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=-

8. after the make process you'll find the binary primecoind within the src folder. just start it with:

./primecoind --daemon

9. if you want the qt client change directory

cd ..

10. qmake

Code:
qmake bitcoin-qt.pro

11. make

make

after the make process you'll find primecoin-qt in the directory, launch with

Code:
./primecoin-qt

12. start mining with the command line client:

./primecoind setgenerate true

13. watch what primecoind is doing

watch -d -n 5 './primecoind getmininginfo && ./primecoind getdifficulty && ./primecoind listtransactions "*" 1 0'


Ah, somewhere in between you have to make a primecoin.conf file in ./primecoin. Do so...

Naja, wir wollten Dir eigentlich nur verklickern, dass die Domain wirklich nichts wert ist. Allenfalls 1 BTC falls jemand die fixe Idee hat, genau diese Domain zu wollen, aus mir nicht vorstellbaren Gründen....

Naja, man hätte die 350 Stück auch per Express verschippern können, anstatt sie 2-3 Tage lang auf der Post rumgammeln zu lassen. Das Zeug hat immerhin nen Wert von über 24k €. Aber ist ok, meine werden wohl eh nicht vor Menigs Urlaub versendet...


Falls die zweite Lieferung, also die 311, die auch noch vor Menigs Urlaub kommen sollten wegen zu hohen Gebühren nicht per Express von YXT an Menig geschickt werden (und deshalb erst nach seinem Urlaub ankommen) dann könnte der YXT hier ja eine BTC Adresse deponieren, damit wir ihm den Aufschlag für den Express zusammensammeln können...

What does the message "Longpoll from pool 0 requested work update" exactly mean? And what does it mean that there are more of these msg than the "accepted" msg? Everything ok or would it mine more efficient if less of the "work update" msg would be visible?
