Yep, that's how this forum works, as long as I've seen, a problem needs to become really huge in order to changes to be made, but I'm afraid that, when the changes come, it is usually too late.


Thanks for sharing this, I haven't read it and, yep, totally agree. In my case I've spent months reading before even making the very first publication here, I just was curious, but, suddenly, one become "worried" about the forum and the need of engaging comes. Well, a little off-topic, but that's my own experience.

I agree with that, and that's why I did formulate the idea in the shape of a question. I just think that Meta needs a dedicated mod, Loice V, Vod or Jet Cash I think will be able to do a great job.
Now, about the sub-board, well, it has been proposed sometimes, but I kind of agree with the idea of not making the things messier. Maybe, as Silent 26 proposed (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4610463.0), a child-board to account issues (all account issues) could be useful, but, again, maybe just some good mods will do the job of, for instance, locking the ban-appeal threads once they are answered enough.


I guess that the common mindset about the issue is to leave the time pass and see what happens, which I agree. But, being honest, is kind of shocking to leave the forum for a week and come back just to see meta invaded by those nonsense-threads.
I've seen some Boards disappearing, as the Bitcoin Discussion, and that's sad, but I also think that the trend in here is to sit and wait to problems to get so big that they are impossible to fix. I guess this is not going to be the Meta situation -I hope-, but, anyway, maybe this is time to continue reporting every single stupid-thread appearing in there for the mods to be both watchful and actives.
Neither I am a fan of restrictions as a measure of control, and we all can see how the restrictions also create boring situations (we just need to see the Ivory Tower desert state), but maybe there is actually a lack of balance in between "freedom" and "abuse".

Well, we all know the recent events regarding the merit for becoming a JR. Member, blabla.

But the most concerning part is all those New-Newbies coming to meta with the only goal of writing whatever they find in their minds with the absurd hope of earning the necessary merit which will provide them with the key to continue with their spamming-activities. Yes, it can be seen as a temporary thing, but when the merit system was implemented, I don't think the people thought that the merit topic will be trending every single day, for months and months (yes, I'm kind of "new" here, but I've been reading the forum from the last December).

Now, there is another kind of invasion, regarding merit -again  - on the Meta board. Every single day dozens of new low-quality threads are opened, either about the new system or about whatever nonsense the spammers consider to be "brilliant" and merit deserving. So, what do you think?:
- Do you think this is a temporary thing and, sooner or later, this nightmare will stop?
- Or, on the contrary, do we need to implement some measures in order to protect one of the very last decent boards we used to have?
   - If that's the case, what measures could be implemented? A rank-restriction to meta (members and above, for instance)?
- Or maybe, do you think this is time to report any single new shitty thread made on the meta so this invasion can be stopped?

I've been away more or less a week, and this is sad to come back here and see the Meta Board in such a bad shape.

Honestamente a mí me parece muy poco, y, de hecho, ya hay muchos que lo consiguieron casi ipso-facto, pues se les fue entregado por los mismos manager de sus bounties y así.
Además, sólo está provocando que la Meta Board se convierta en un sinfín de intentos patéticos por obtener el mérito o una amalgama de quejas y chilloteos, pataleos de todo tipo sobre lo injusto que es que te obliguen a trabajar un poco en tu calidad para ganar algo de dinero acá.

No sé, honestamente me parece un poco decepcionante, de momento, el resultado de esto.

Esperemos que no surja (aunque ya existe) un buen mercado negro de méritos. Honestamente era una situación insostenible que necesitaba algo para contenerla, pero un mérito para poder ganar dinero con el foro me parece poco, creo que sería mejor que hubieran implantado mínimo 5, pues en las propias bounties empezarán a intercambiar méritos.

De todos modos era muy necesario hacer algo, y creo que miles de cuentas han sido afectadas, por lo que estoy observando en la sección Meta y la cantidad de quejas, sugerencias y nuevas "guías" que surgen al respecto. Honestamente, tener un mérito como Newbie no es para nada difícil si tienes un mínimo interés en el foro, por lo que debería funcionar y "limpiar" este espacio de personas que vienen con la única intención de ganarse unos pocos centavillos.

Ahora bien, ¿ustedes creen que muchos abandonarán el foro? O que, por lo contrario, ¿se quedarán viendo cómo hacerle para ganar su mérito y seguir spammeando?

Supongo que en un tiempo podremos ver los datos referentes a este nuevo cambio y cómo afecta a los usuarios y al foro.

Also, sometimes they plagiarize an article or whatever made in their native language and then use Google translator to post the article in English. That' s why sometimes it is difficult to determinate the source, and why I always use some steps:
1.- Check the post history, and, in case you find it suspicious, then
2.- Check the user native language by looking into his/her post history, and then select the text you suspect to be plagiarized and translate it into his/her native language using Google.
3.- Select one or two phrases once translated and make a quick search on Google.

Of course, it does. However the spammers in here, I still believe that there are some people with a legit interest in the forum and, being honest, when you first come here it can be difficult to understand all the rules, you need some experience to accomplish that task.
Sometimes I've seen a pretty good poster breaking a rule, but, you know, if you see his/her post history and it is pretty decent, why not inform the person about the rules instead of sacrificing a potential good member? Even when it is, honestly, a rare case, there are few trying their best and committing mistakes.

So yes, it seems like a common practice, where the scammers just pick another's members profile to join a campaign. I think the best solution is for bounty managers to establish some kind of authentication-protocol in which you need to join the campaign towards the forum instead of another platform. Giving the option of joining a campaign by google doesn't seem logical to me, for you are actually unable to check the authenticity of the campaign joiners.

Órale pues la neta yo sí lo entiendo a la perfección. Creo que esas chelas (cervezas) ayudaron a la perspectiva, no obstante no estoy de acuerdo. Si entendí bien, hablas de que tratar de imponer orden en el caos es un intento fútil, pues el desorder tiene su propio manejo: tal vez como un río que busca cauce y por el cual no podemos hacer mucho.
No obstante, yo sí creo que es más que necesario establecer unas normas más rigurosas, y que ese cauce puede ser cambiado. Por ejemplo, esta semana vimos cómo la sección española fue acusada de tener méritos fáciles, de abusos y de otras mamadas que ni vienen al caso. Pero también vimos como salieron al tiro la mayoría de ustedes a defender la situación que nos ocupa, a hablar de manera clara y certera de la realidad de esta sección. Ahora bien, estamos en un foro regido por el caos, sí, pero a través del estudio se podrían hacer leyes nuevas que nos salven del caos a niveles apocalípticos o lo que es lo mismo, de la desaparición del foro.
Yo llevo acá ya algunos meses y he visto evolucionar las discusiones. Aunque ahora no parece haber demasiados resultados, la propia implementación del sistema de méritos fue, sin duda, un gran avance. Antes cualquiera que escribiera dos líneas podía convertirse en legendary.

Bueno, y volviendo al tema principal del hilo, me gustaría señalar que a lo mejor es momento de hacer un análisis de cuántos spammers legendarios tenemos. Parece una mamada, pero no se trata de una persecución, sino que, ahora que soy newbie, me doy cuenta del clasismo que impera en el foro y de lo necesario que sería empezar a hablar de que los rangos no tienen que ver con la calidad del individuo sino que, en muchos casos, tenemos el resquicio de lo anterior siento latente en cada rincón. Muchos users fueron legendarios hace tiempo a través de spamear el foro y, por ende, pueden continuar con esas actividades con una mano en la cintura y un rango muy alto. Al mismo tiempo, veo que muchas veces las respuestas de un newbie no son leídas por otros por el simple hecho de una palabra que indica un rango bajo su perfil. Esto me ha resultado la neta más que curioso, y me he puesto a ver que las personas más meritadas no tienen por qué ser las más indicadas, sino que a veces no se lee un post porque el que lo hizo tiene "Newbie" bajo su nombre.

Esto es sólo un apunte que considero de interés ahora que soy newbie y que creo que puede simplificar muchas de las respuestas que planteamos en este hilo: por ejemplo, cómo los méritos están siendo distribuidos entre las mismas personas prácticamente. Sencillamente es por que he visto, me consta, que respuestas de newbies ni siquiera son leídas en un hilo. ¿Lo han hecho? ¿Les ha pasado pasar por alto una respuesta porque fue un newbie el que la dio?

Generalmente, cuando citamos un artículo de otra fuente, el más "usado" es el siguiente procedimiento:
1. Ponemos un título relacionado, por supuesto.
2. Una pequeña introducción en la que puedes resumir brevemente el artículo que vas a linkear.
3. Tu opinión al respecto, o por qué te pareció interesante y consideraste compartirlo.
4. Por último, la fuente de donde sacaste el artículo.

Decirte que actualmente en el foro el plagio es el primer motivo de users baneados que existe, por lo que te incito a que elabores los cambios propuestos por DdmrDdmr y yo cuanto antes, pues estás poniendo en riesgo tu cuenta.

Anonimato, por supuesto. Últimamente los meros grandes han estado pidiendo por KYC y mucha información personal, en algunos casos incluso más que un banco. Por ello, diría que poder conservar el anonimato es crucial.
Además, pediría una amplia gama de monedas, otra de las cosas difíciles de encontrar en cualquier exchange.
Y que se pueda pasar el dinero a cash tampoco estaría mal!!
