Can't quite read the p/n on the fan. YS Tech, 2.12A @ 12V looks ominous.

Lol dogie, love your work on this forum ... only you would ask that question!

@ Spondoolies, what noise db level will the SP20 run at? How 'home friendly' is it on the noise front?

302  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: September 05, 2014, 10:21:03 PM
OK ... I bought SP30s, got the refund emails ... asked them to consolidate, which they did (Thanks Sponds!), bought a SP31 at a great price.

Has any miner manufacturer done that before?

I'm happy, so I'm guessing they are too.

IF is true, but the cost?

I fear both won't ROI the way things are going.

SP31 failed? Grin Tongue Cheesy

Nope. Just ordered one for ~2k$!

haha yes roadstress, just some courteous counter-trolling. Wink

I'll counter that ... just ordered a SP31 as well  Grin

305  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: September 05, 2014, 08:38:47 PM
Quoted in part:
Spondoolies-Tech is releasing a new miner named the SP20-Jackson that will start shipping in October.

Specifications as of press time:
Hash Rate: 1.7 th/s +/- 5%, Over Clockable to 1.8 th/s, 8 ASIC Chips
Power Consumption: 1100 watts at the wall with a Gold rated, 90% efficiency PSU suggested
Power connections: 4x PCIe
Smaller Form Factor 1/3 size of the SP30, 60dB or less estimated

Now this is interesting, and the FIRST time Spondoolies (to my knowledge) have not kept us up to speed on the forum, we hear news from another source. Thanks nhminer.

Get the price right, and you'll have a best seller - eating into Bitmains market (unless they have a killer S4 around the corner). If you don't have one to hand, the PSU will cost you a few, but many S1/S3 owners have 1200W/1500W units powering multiple Antminers right now. (Not sure a Corsair AX1200i would be up for the job on this?).

Reading the article, I'm guessing/hoping no lengthy pre-orders here, or if so, delivery within a short window of time.

I host my SP10s and SP30s at DCs, but also boost the hash rate by hosting a certain amount of KW personally. If the price and spec is right, I'll be upgrading my smaller miners ... just as winter begins ... toasty  Cool

they started to become greedier and greedier, so no more coupons for us ! Grin

Let's be clear here, Bitmain had a secret agenda, which has now been revealed ... hashnest ... YOU (the buying public/private miner) are not now on their main agenda ....

Shame, I had faith like others ... and bought a good many miners from them over the months.

Sorry, many will be ...

Err ... I thought this was the Spondoolies thread ... posts are going a bit AWOL ...  Shocked

Back to business, really happy with my SP30s, hashing on average (at toom.im) above 4.5Ths and had a very good day today with my pool.

Also had confirmation of coupon/voucher codes for the GB compensation, thanks Sponds, all looks in order.

DevonMiner's machines arrived the day before yesterday and are hashing at 4455 and 4558 GH/s.

It was yesterday actually, and I'm happy and have seen some good hashing results given that these machines need 24hrs to settle down.

jtoomim and the team responded very quickly, even popped down to their local Fedex to collect my miners after a failed delivery - can't ask for more than that, I really appreciated the service!

If you are recieving a unit in the UK be prepared, i just got hit for Ģ400 duty Sad
That was also one reason for me to host it at ST. I wonder what happens when it will ship in 3 months. It's real value then will be much lower then... maybe even lower then the duty?

True. Something you have to build into your ROI model. Most are (I believe) hosting for a minimum of 6 months (I am) at various locations throughout the world (Washington and Iceland seem the most popular) and NO duty has been paid so far, but bring it back into the UK (EU) and import duty is due ... So, the big question is, what value should the miner be valued at when it gets shipped back to you, probably near zero given difficulty, but maybe a value customs will believe?

311  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: H/w Hosting Directory & Reputation on: August 27, 2014, 09:34:32 PM
plus a one-time installation fee of $100 per miner.

DAMN! That's gonna cost! How many miners per 100 kW?

SP30 for instance runs at 3KW ... so you are charging $3300 to hook them up  Huh

how exactly they determine the order, i wonder?
I have order 11XX, but did not receive any email. One day extra in shipping could mean 3 extra days delayed because of Sat, Sunday and labor day Monday.

As I understand it, it isn't the order number, but the payment order that they ship by.

Hope they get to Washington by Friday!
Same here, just received confirmation from Sponds that my GB machines have shipped along with tracking info  Grin

This is good news ... Let the GB machines roll ... and let the hashing begin!

My SP30s are going to be hosted by Toomim.

(I was quite surprised at how many people didn't take this GB all way and bailed out after paying their reservation fee and not then paying in full).

To those that did, I'm sure we'll all enjoy the SP30.

And hats off to Spondoolies for honoring the agreed price given the lower final sales amount.

I have a groupbuy sp30 myself and I havenīt bothered asking, as I know the unit will ship when it is produced and ready to go.

I've taken the same view, ordered a couple through the GB ... I trust Sponds on their delivery schedule ...(My previous orders from them were on time) but I have to say ... every now and then ... my cerebral cortex says ... I would like to know  Grin

THIS!  "If they refuse - we should all be concerned as to the reasons why."

Great post. Well said  Smiley

Having now read numerous posts and boned up on information, this is NOT GOOD NEWS. Bitmain need to get their act together and have respect for and abide by the rules ... ckolivas and others have a) Given SO much to the community b) Have rules relating to their software use. Bitmain use this software to power their devices. I am, like others in different threads have said ... now suspicious of Bitmain. Their contact with the forum is only ever to inform of new products, new pricing or (and this is rare) communication with someone who has a RMA situation.

Seriously people, stop and think what MAY be going on without your knowledge ... Bitmain are refusing access to what should be open source software, which has a license and a code of conduct to adhere to. You don't FREE RIDE and keep quiet.

Just a thought: What is YOUR MINER REALLY DOING? And why do Bitmain now consider themselves to be above the very community of loyal customers that have made them (and continue to) make them an absolute fortune.

For the records: I'm not trolling here ... (I have owned/own and mined/mine with S1s, S2s and S3s).

I wired to their CZ bank for SP10s with no problem, you can trust these guys they are the real deal.

Yep +1 here as well, wired orders to them before ... Sponds are building a very reputable company ... simply by putting in the hard work and treating people as people, unlike many other 'Bitcoin miner' vendors out there.
