1  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Will you use a Facebook coin? on: July 09, 2019, 04:40:50 PM
For the practical use I have found according Libra's White Paper, I rather keep using bitcoin... maybe only in the crazy scenario that my mother needs me to send money and specifically ask for a transfer trough facebook or something, which is very unlikely.

It is funny how in the WP states:

Quote
The world truly needs a reliable digital currency and infrastructure that together can deliver on the promise of “the internet of money.”

It's almost like Mark never heard about Bitcoin.
2  Local / Esquina Libre / Re: Nuevas publicaciones de Satoshi Nakamoto on: July 05, 2019, 10:43:57 AM

3  Other / Off-topic / Bitcoin and the sleeper generation (Generation X) on: July 04, 2019, 10:56:14 AM
It is not unknown that Milennials are the generation that is apdoting bitcoin, either as a way of investment or to hodl and wait for a future where bitcoin becomes the accepted currency. But what about the generation X.

I like to call them the sleeper generation, because being the last one that fall into the indoctrination of previous generations, hasn't done anything remarkable (good or bad) that makes any difference; this generation I am part of, doen't even has a real name.

I don't believe they have notice that they can lead the gratest difference in todays broken economy, since they are the ones still holding the leading positions in business and politics, making the decitions. With their day-to-day actions they keep the old institutions in power, because they are so use to them and already struggle to  deal with their ways; we could say, they (we) don't know better. And when something like bitcoin come along, and this same institutions tells them its wrong, they temp to believe them.

Maybe if at some point, generation X learn a bit of the origin of the Millenials disconfort, instead of just critizise it as they are told to do so; maybe they will open themselves to the alternative and accept bitcoin, and place their trust in the blockchain and not in some rich bankers; and then maybe, the change will happen at once.

4  Other / Off-topic / How come hate unites more than a major common goal? 😕 on: July 03, 2019, 04:14:00 PM
It is maybe nothing but human nature, I can't be sure at the moment, I don't have any psychological or anthropological background to make a statement, but I would like to share a small thought I had this morning.

I was checking in the news than the Brexit party (MEPs) turn backs on Ode to Joy at European parliament. Besides reckoning the immature attitude of these politicians, I did see the pattern politicians are following. It caught my attention that in history, hate has being use by poor leaders to unite people under their flag. To cite some examples:

  • Hitler used a racist thought to unite the Germanic tribes under an arian flag, and twisted that thought to promote and excuse a war we all know.
  • Trump used a xenophobic idea to unite the economical dissatisfied USA citizens, and used that to pass so many crazy laws and probably win next elections.
  • Now, in the UK, Nigel Farage is using a bad settled Brexit situation to induce fear that will probably end up in hate towards de European Union.

So my point is, that these leaders convince people to not achieve a common global goal, probably based on selfishness in order to satisfy their own agenda, and the only way to convince the people that such common goal is not the best option, is to create and promote hate.

5  Other / Off-topic / Re: Facebook just announced its Cryptocurrency Libra! is it Bitcoin? on: July 02, 2019, 12:34:10 AM
Hello there!

Well, no, it's not bitcoin. It's not even a real cryptocurrency, you could say is only digital currency. This is a not minable coin. It will be listed in exchanges, but since is announced as a stable coin, that means the value will supposedly always be the same. This currency practical use will be pretty much only to by ads from facebook/instagram and for the money transfer market (which I believe is what they are really after since is a multi-billion dollar industry).

Its amazing how it took the giant volcanic eruptions and the Yucatán Peninsula impact to cross the 20°. Also interesting that after a warm period at 20° follows a cool down period at 10°, with the exception of jurassic/cretaceous cool down, that only reach right below 15°, do you believe it was the super-continents split and the creation a two massive oceans what balanced the temperature?

Average global temperature in 2018 was close to 15°, the last five years has been the hottest on record, showing an exponential warming rate; I am afraid as you said, there is nothing to stop earth from keep getting warmer... maybe we will need another re-engineering by the Anunnaki  Grin

Interesting video (animated map) that shows the history of temperature changes around the world from 1850 to 2018: https://youtu.be/JObGveVUz7k

Protonmail is definitely the best option as of now, I mean it was created by people working at CERN, that automatically means big brains; also has a really good option for business, allows you to keep your business email address (you@yourcompany.com) and its not an expensive service.
8  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Where do you stand on abortion? Let's have a civil debate. on: June 29, 2019, 11:07:37 AM

Now, when do I support abortion?
1) Rape cases. 2) Cases where the mother's life is in danger. 3) Cases where the parents "literally" can't afford to have the baby. (although I believe adoption is a very good option).

I strongly support this three cases.

Now, I would just like to add up a comment. I am a man of science, hence I do not hold any moral derived from a religious stand; this is important since, even though, a fetus could be considered a living entity becasue is made out of living cells, is not an organism from start and cannot be considered a living being. It has not conscience yet neither. So, where to draw the line when it comes a "due date" to be able to preform or not the abortion? Well, debate is strong in the scientific community about this one; in my humble opinion, I believe that line should be set at the moment the fetus starts feeling pain, for which the following has to be considered:

  • The basic anatomical organization of the human nervous system is established by 6 weeks .[1]
  • The earliest neurons in the cortical brain (the part responsible for thinking, memory, and other higher functions) are established starting at 6 weeks .[2]
  • Nerve synapses for spinal reflex are in place by 10 weeks .[3]
  • Sensory receptors for pain (nociception) develop first around the mouth at 7 weeks , and are present throughout the skin and mucosal surfaces by 20 weeks .[4]
  • Connections between the spinal cord and the thalamus (which functions in pain perception in fetuses as well as in adults[5]) are relatively complete by 20 weeks .[6]

9  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Career path and detours on: June 27, 2019, 03:24:03 PM
I believe we should start reevaluating education. I mean, you can take a look at how many young people are struggling to pay their collage debts, it is stupid and crazy; it all started in the 90's, when just finishing a career meant getting a good job afterwards, then students instead of attending collage or universities to learn and increase their knowledge, they just wanted the title to get the good job. As of now, I believe now and in the future, certifications is what it will determinate career paths, and it will give the opportunity to actually follow one that is of one like.

Oh boy, I turn 39 this year and middle life crisis started to hit on me, too bad I do no t have the money to buy one of those expensive cars or a motorcycle... I feel bad than when you are my age things might be more difficult; that's why I keep believing in movements such as Bitcoin, we have to change our ways, and I think this is good starting point.

But yeah, adulthood is scam  Grin
11  Local / Mercado y Economía / Re: Nuevas regulaciones on: June 26, 2019, 09:47:07 AM
<…>

If you like to get a job as blockchain developer, not only focus in cryptocurrencies, I recommend you to learn golang, since business blockchains are usually based in Hyperledger projects. It would be also helpful to get a few certifications, there is a good one in edx from The Linux Foundation, you can learn a lot about blockchain in it.

13  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is the universe finite or infinite? on: June 10, 2019, 05:13:22 AM
There is a couple of theories we could talk about that propose the existence of a multiverse.

In the String Theory, there are 11 dimensions: 1 time dimension plus 10 spacial dimensions the idea is that tall these spaces are different extemal points in a large multi-dimensional space. Each verse is like a bubble in an ocean made out of dark energy,

The many-worlds interpretation in Quantum Mechanics states that new verses are created all the time, where each possibility that can exist does exist; let's put it this way, in Schrodinger's cat experiment, when you open the box, one universe is created where the cat is alive and another where the cat is dead.

I personally don't find the many-worlds theory sound, but I incline to believe in the existence of a multiverse as string theory states.

Saludos!
15  Other / Off-topic / Re: what do you think about electric cars? on: June 08, 2019, 07:57:35 AM
I think if you can afford an electric car and you still buy a gasoline one, you are an idiot.

I've read one of the main reasons some don't like electric cars is because they are not as fast as gasoline, like really, every day when you go to work you speed up on the highway like a complete jerk?... do you really need the speed? not really, for instance, in 2016 according to Transport for London, London cars are driving at an average of just 16.5 miles per hour, falling to 7.4 miles per hour in the city core.

Petrol based engines contaminate in two different ways, pollution and heat.

Also, changing at some point to electric cars, the greedy oil companies power will be reduced, and as far as I remember, as bitcoiners, we suppose to be of rebel heart.
16  Local / Altcoins (criptomonedas alternativas) / Re: Facebook lanzará GlobalCoin en 2020 on: June 07, 2019, 05:55:53 PM

17  Local / Altcoins (criptomonedas alternativas) / Re: El Petro aun una alternativa ? on: June 07, 2019, 05:41:58 PM

19  Local / Primeros pasos y ayuda / Re: Hola, estoy comenzando y tengo muchas dudas, alguien me puede ayudar? on: June 07, 2019, 04:36:51 PM

Espero haber ayudado, saludos.
