Everybody is talking about money, market cap and buying and selling.
Crypto 2.0 is about being MORE than a coin. Being a coin BUT more. So, a 2.0 coin will not be successful for being a coin alone.

That could happen yes, but is it not possible people will sell half stakes quarter stakes or even a tenth of a stake? 3000 initial stakeholders will lead to a much faster, quicker and wider distribution. And I still feel c will Win  |

People lie themselves with Nxt distribution,flaming it.But the only reason they do it is they got a cheap stake in NEM and dream about getting rich doing nothing.
Guess what, it wont happen.The problem is they are trying to destroy a productive project, with a lot of hard work behind, for a copy, that will never bring anything new.I read late about Nxt, but who cares about IPO.Nxt has a value now.If you see it cheap buy,if not dont touch it, but stop that kids campaign crying about distribution.
73 is bad and 2000 is ok??Why ?? Why not 50.000 or 500000000? NEM is unfair for the rest of the world who didnt read the thread.So if you really care about Nxt or Nem, just read and make yourself an idea of what each of these is working on, and decission will be very easy.And if you trust the project, just join and help in whatever you can.
In nem people is just talking about speculation and prizes,and walking over Nxt.In nxt no one talks about the price,as they know it doesnt matter this early, and they are not looking to pump.
you did not even read what I wrote properly. I said even NEM is too concentrated, dont get too defensive. Distribution did happen the way it did and its not a lie, maybe its spread a little bit wider now, but people still think its an issue. You can rage all you want but thats the popular opinion wether you like it or not. |

Its how I feel, its not objective. I cannot give you a logical answer. All I can say is that a lot of people feel this way and perception is very important.
NEM right now is projecting itself as the good guy and that is a very good image to have.

I have Nxt to thank for getting involved with NEM. There was a picture of three hot girls and a fat chick suppose to be a nxt clown  . I wanted to invest in NXT. What turned me off was the complicated way of installing the wallet ( 2 months ago) and the fact that all nxt was held by 70-73 people  it was too high a concentration of wealth. Imagine if NXT becomes the dominant cryptocurrency and a small investment of 1 btc could turnout to be a billion dollar  it just seems wrong. Ofcourse I would have gladly joined the original 73 had I the chance but thats irrelevant. Even NEM with 3000 is still too concentrated if NEM becomes dominant I feel. Some people say distribution is not that important to Joe average, but I disagree, I am Joe average and I just don't get a good vibe about nxt /quark because of this even-though its a great coin. |

I have not been to this thread for a few days are the proposed changes actually happening. Devs please makeup your mind. It seems we a5re changing direction everyday, constant tinkering will make everyone loss what little faith they have in pawn. will I see a return on my investment it seems very unlikely if you keep doing this. make a final decision and stick with it please. |

And even from the 500 I think half is getting refunded. . sadly people are now only talking about price and sockpokets . This thread was so much fun before. People coming up with so many logos and ideas and such. I wish we could all go back to that phase |

For the record, I like the community as it is. Since it has a uniquely wide breadth and depth even at this stage and I expect amazing things from the community when the time comes.
So I see there is no real issue with NEM community (and surely only imaginary fiasco). Thank you all for your supports.

here is my suggestion for the sockpuppets problem:
1) disqualify all the new accounts after January 21, 2014 and refund them if they did fund NEM project;and
2) give those shakes to the real and important members of BTT, such as Hero Members or Sr. Members if they are interested in NEM project.
so we can get strong support from the community.
I agree with this 100%. If NEM isn't going to honour the statements utopian made previously on multiple accounts we might as well eradicate all the socks and suffer the consequences of that rule change. As it stands, there has been a retrospective rule change, BUT we still have sockpuppets, so NEM distribution is flawed. Might as well have a retrospective rule change BUT end up with NO sockpuppets at the end of it. It would require utopianfuture doing a monumental back-flip in the pike position, but IMO banning all sockpuppets is easier to defend than the current policy of 5. The '5 socks' policy looks ridiculous, and there's obviously some people who avoided taint analysis who have a lot more than 5. UP could reboot a new BTT account to carry on his leadership of NEM, and the sockpuppet fiasco would be over. One account one stake, and no more socks. Ban all socks!!

That is nothing in regard of the excepted value. I don't like to say someone should sell his stake directly to me, but in case this persons don't want to have that stake, he or she can sell it to me! I would be REALLY glad to get some stakes for 4-5 BTC!
@ all: Post me after launch if you want to sell your stake! I'll give you about 4-5 btc per stake!! please remember me!!!!!!!!!!
This is business. As an investment opportunity NEM has potential, but it could fail, so the greatest risk/reward is now for those who can afford to invest. I am prepared to take the risk now, and I am fortunate enough to have the means. I will show my capacity to make this offer before anyone trades. NXT or bitcoin doesn't matter as I have both, but I do prefer NXT. I am serious. Please don't joke about buying NEM stakes if you don't have the means. As you already said "this is business". In my last two posts I already made clear that I'm willing to buy NEM for that price - I'm not joking when I do business! Then we are two buyers in the market for NEM stakes. |

imo setting an upper cap for the second stage strongly contradicts the following ideas: Fairness & Transparency [...] We want to spread and split EXO as much as possible among the community! [...] A widley spread initial handover (achieved by the 1.5 BTC / 50 LTC cap) prevents from someone (and from us) dumping large amounts of EXO once it hits an exchange! NXT vs eXocoin [...] We don't want to blame NXT. It has great innovation! What we are concerned of is that about 75 people are holding the vast majority of the whole crypto. That is what we want to change with eXocoin. The wider it spreads the better!moreover an upper cap of 250 btc means that an early bird investoer would still get the 1,81-fold for the same money as a second stage investor assmuming the cap will be reached, which i personally don't consider a fair distribution. i mean 81% more coins for the same investment only because someone has been an early bird, come on. however it is clear that an early bird investors should get more for his money than a second stage investor, something around 20% sounds reasonable and fair to me. but achieving that number by using an upper cap for the second stage would mean you will have to set it as 165,2 btc if you strictly consider the spreading plan of 23.5% for the early birds and 18.5% for the second ipo stage. this sounds like a bad idea, too, of course. imho the fairest way to guarantee a widely distribution is as follows: set a fixed number of what you want an early bird investor to get more for the same money, say 20% for example. organize the second stage of the ipo without a total upper cap, but sill using the upper cap of 1.5 btc per user for both stages, of course. run the second stage as long as possible and try to spread the word so that most people that are into cryptocurrencies have at least heard of it. finally calculate the coins each investor will receive as follows: (1.2 * early bird investment + second stage investment)/(1.2 * all early bird investments + all second stage investments) * 42000000 note that this way of distributing the coins guarantees that an early bird investorg gets exaclty the 1.2-fold for the same money no matter how much is raised in the second stage. Or simply do away with the stage 1/stage 2 system entirely. Even if people invest into stage 2, the coin still hasn't been released, they are not risking any more or less than stage 1 investors. Anyway, the solution provided by kingbtcvl does seem to solve that problem while keeping all respective parties happy. First stage investors get their little bonus while second stage investors don't get shafted. second round investment did not even begin, if they invest they are investing after all available information, if they feel shafted they are willingly getting shafted lol . its not comparable at all. |
