Watch the next 2 minutes after the linked time. 1:02:45 is where it's at. Have we found our man?

How about sexcam for bitcoins? I'm sure tons of people would leave their computer on mining for some private chat credits!  Grin

7-Zip uses iterated SHA-256 as its key derivation function. This is weak against hardware brute force attacks. If your password really is 18 randomish characters, you should be fine. If it's one English word with a few digits before or after it, you are theoretically vulnerable to that kind of attack.

Are you sure? The version I have (Ver 9.20) says AES-256. And yes, 18 random chars.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is a passworded WINRAR file an effective encryption method? on: June 29, 2011, 11:56:40 AM
7-Zip has 256 bit AES. I'm using that with an 18 char password and storing my wallet completely and permanently offline, so I'm sleeping pretty well at night Wink

Now I just have to fill it with a few BTC haha!
7  Economy / Economics / Re: When US debt ceiling is lifted . . . on: June 29, 2011, 11:14:56 AM
So US citizen paying more taxes to pay the interest ?

The US government prints more dollars to pay for the interest, the value of the dollar goes down and the US citizens pays more for everything they buy. That's how it works.  Until one day the dollar is so weak that it crashes and becomes worthless because no one will want it any more. The only reason the dollar is not much worse off right now is that the Euro is on shaky ground too.
8  Bitcoin / Press / Re: Bitcoin press hits, notable sources on: June 28, 2011, 10:42:53 PM

Shills just cannot wrap their tiny brains around decentralised concept and again calling beenz flooz cards.

They don't even realize that there is a whole world beyond the US and that even if bitcoin turned out to be illegal in the US, it would only affect a small proportion of bitcoin's userbase anyway.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Non-Poll: How would you Explain Bitcoin to a 7 year old Child? on: June 28, 2011, 03:22:02 PM
Dad: It's a kind of money the computer makes when you're not playing video games.

Son: Is that why Mom's always telling you to get off Call of Duty?
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Retail Over the Counter Trading illegal in the free USA from 15 July 2011 on: June 28, 2011, 02:16:37 PM
Is Hyperinflation imminent like in Weimar Germany?  http://www.shadowstats.com/

So, here's the plan: get a Dollar mortgage, pay off my current Euro mortgage, and wait for the US economy to give me a free house. How does that sound?
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone tried to retrieve my mtgox password on: June 27, 2011, 08:51:53 PM
No way! They hacked Mt Gox again and changed the domain name!

No.  Anyone can send you an email and set the reply-to address to be anything they want.

Whooshitywhoo!  Wink

14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So, how many of you were hoping the price would fall off a cliff? on: June 27, 2011, 11:40:17 AM
a) Waiting this long was wise (even though they probably didn't do it intentionally ;-) )

The words you are looking for are "bloody lucky".  Wink

Did anyone else have to submit a pic of their genitals to get their account back?  Or did I get goxed?

You got lucky. They are asking me for a rectal probe scan.

What Adam said.

And BTW, in soviet reddit, posts downvote you.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt. Gox to open trading in competition with churches around the world... on: June 26, 2011, 09:40:23 AM
For some reason, I thought they were opening Sunday afternoon -- you know, when I get HOME from church.

No, it's actually 10:00 AM (CDT), right as Mass is beginning.

I know I'm not the only Bitcoin user who goes to church. I sincerely hope not!

Now trading is always going on while I'm gone to church, shopping, etc. and that's nothing new.
But a re-start of trading on Mt. Gox, which has been down for A WEEK, might provide unique opportunities that I might miss.

Why did they have to pick such a time? I still think they should have been ready by 12 hours after their original plan (namely, RIGHT NOW)

They aren't even going to be open a couple hours before 10:00, so I could get in a few orders before I leave. No, I have to just miss out.

Oh well. Maybe it will prevent me from selling at $18, and I'll get home and get to sell at $25 or something Smiley

Matthew

God is testing you.

HAR HAR HAR!!!
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Finally some great news! on: June 25, 2011, 02:56:40 PM

20  Other / Off-topic / Re: fuck you mtgox on: June 24, 2011, 10:58:16 PM
Thanks to your incompetence and lack of pre-planning the majority of my online accounts at various websites including paypal and online banking have been compromised including my one unactive warcraft account. I got a call today that my identity might of been stolen as well. I swear to god if I ever see you fucks in real life you better run.

OP post photo id please. Otherwise we can't be sure it's you and not someone who has compromised your forum account.
