1  Other / Meta / Re: How to get merit points ? on: September 12, 2018, 01:54:04 AM
It's simple but need time. Writing constructive, creative, high-quality posts, then you will get merits sooner or later. The most important things is be helpful in the forum to help others solve their problems, or at least give them hints, links for more details, etc. Furthermore, merits will be given for high quality posts, but it's also a game of probability. Therefore, you should not pay too much attention on merits, just keep being helpful, you will get merits in the future for sure. Don't worry about merit points.

Steps:

1. Pick a topic.

Picking a topic to post on to may be the hardest part in the guide but any topic of your choice will do! I usually pick topics that are fresh(post that have few views and replies). Why? Because it would be an advantage if you answered the topic first, there would be no restraints and you can freely say what you want to say. Replying to the thread would be like a plain canvas waiting for unlimited possibilities. Picking an old topic is not quite bad either, especially if the topic is really interesting, but replies would be limited since most of the ideas are already laid off, including what you may be thinking and if this is the case, better not reply anymore and just pick another topic since this would just cause spamming of threads.

In addition, if you picked a fresh topic, people who are viewing the thread will see your reply on top plus it won't be burried with tons of incoming replies. Thus, giving your post a safe and sweet spot for any credit-giver.

2. Know the topic.

Question: Do you know the topic?
If yes: Good! Proceed to step 3.
If no: Research on the topic or go back to step 1.

Researching about the topic doesn't just mean reading an article or two, it can also be(but not required) watching videos about the topic or viewing some infographic about it. Anything goes as long as you understand and learn something new. If you think you're knowledgable enough to answer then proceed to step 3.

3. Answer the topic.

After researching, with your own words, try to answer the topic. Remember that answers may be short or long, it need not to be technical nor scientific. It just need to be clear, concise, and most of all sensible for everyone to understand. And don't even think about plagiarizing an article saying that you've made a good post, because people read, and if people noticed that you just copy/pasted an article then be ready for the consequences. Are you really trying to risk your account for some merits? Merits can be earned anytime but activities, reputation, and trusts takes time.

Now that you have answered the topic, be confident on what you have wrote and try not to think much about receiving merits. Continue on doing quality posts and im sure, little by little, people would notice and reward you for that. That would be all, thank you and godspeed!

This is what I usually consider when posting and replying to threads, three easy and simple things to consider when posting. This may be common-sense but I hope this helps.

Steps:

3  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are you in favor of same sex marriage? on: September 10, 2018, 08:39:42 AM
Yes, of course, because it's 2018 and this shouldn't be an "issue" we're talking about anymore.

That said, I don't care if someone doesn't support it. That's their personal choice, and I wouldn't presume to judge them for it (just like I expect to not be judged for supporting it).

What I do take issue with is those that do judge others for supporting gay marriage, or getting married to someone of the same sex. Those that try and push their agenda or beliefs on the rest of humanity are the problem.

These people seem to justify this behavior in two ways:

1. It makes them uncomfortable. This probably stems from their own insecurities. Their desire to push this discomfort onto others is sad. Keep it to yourself, stop being selfish, and grow up.

2. They use religion as an excuse to justify their behavior. I don't care if you're religious, but keep it to yourself. I'm not religious, or maybe I have a different interpretation of religion than you do, so why should I have to change my life or views for your sake? This smug attitude, the arrogance of it, makes me almost just as angry.
4  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: best coin for long term investing on: September 09, 2018, 03:57:39 PM
I think the coins which are great for long term are the coins which are really popular and have alot of applications in the real world. I think RIPPLE and CIVIC are two coins in which you should surely invest as these coins have tremendous amount of potential to grow in the near future. RIPPLE is a coins based upon the idea of global value transfer and CIVIC is a coin based upon the idea of identity verification with help of Blockchain technology. You can really earn good amounts of profits if you will invest in these coins.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Reasons why one should invest in bitcoin now? on: September 08, 2018, 11:00:59 PM
The answer is simple and very practical, We all want an easy profit, a profit that we can earn in just a short amount of time. There's so many advantages of investing into bitcoin and holding it (specially for a student like me.)

1. I can earn a lot by just holding my bitcoin as much as possible.
2. Once i earned profit i can invest it again to other coins (ICO's).
3. If you look into the bitcoins price graph you can see how the bitcoins price goes so fast in other words easy profits.
4. High market demand.

There's so many advantages when you do invest into bitcoin, but there's also some disadvantages about investing in bitcoin specially when you hold your coins for too long since the more you hold your coin the riskier it will be. You will not know what will happen to the market in the next few days, weeks or month so before starting investing you should know the risk you're going to face.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which Coins are a great LONG-TERM investment ???? on: September 08, 2018, 10:43:21 PM
Bitcoin still the best coin for a long-term investing. and with Bitcoin, we can make a big profit especially if the price can increase significantly. we can use Bitcoin for more than two years as our investing and in that time, the Bitcoin price can increase higher. but Bitcoin is also a high-risk investment because we don't know that Bitcoin can stay in the higher price or not and the price can change in anytime. but for a long-term investment, the price will give us a big profit.
7  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the best way to make money with bitcoin in 2017? on: September 08, 2018, 11:18:05 AM
Go find another ways that can fit to your personality and of course skills, if you're just focusing on bitcoin then try alt coins because right now alt coins can give you more profit than bitcoin if you manage to play the market very well. Make yourself busy exploring more things about crypto market, if you have some capital to start with then go buy alt coins but before you do that research first on what coins are profitable right now and when is the right time to buy and sell them in the market. Good luck to you and I hope luck comes to you.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is best wallet for long term bitcoin holding? on: September 07, 2018, 10:20:36 PM
Offline wallets are something where the secret key is not shared with anyone (only if such wallet is generated in a safe environment and trusted source). The cheapest way to an offline wallet is to finding an old computer and generating a paper wallet through that machine (and that machine should never establish a connection to internet or devices such as a printer that connects to the internet). There are some other ways too but this is the one which I trust the most for the paper wallet.
9  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading or mining? on: September 07, 2018, 10:01:20 PM
It depends on many things!
For TRADING (buying!) you have to be good at it. It is not a game to just buy and be sure you make profit. You need to know when to buy, and when to sell and what. The risk is high but the profit can also be very high if your timing is good enough. And a decent amount of profit requires a decent amount of investment.

For MINING is not easy either. It is not like you can click a button and earn money from what you mine.
first thing you will notice about mining that will eat through your profit is the electricity cost. If you don't have a cheap electricity then forget about mining.
There are other issues too. such as the initial investment. you have to buy some good equipment. whether it is ASIC miners, or 1 or couple of good GPUs it will cost you a large amount of money.
Then it is the problem with cooling and the sound which is the smallest issues.
But the other big issue is the fluctuations in price. the highly volatile nature of altcoins and the fact that they are pump and dumps can give you a huge profit or lead to a big loss.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mining vs Buying Altcoins, which option is better? on: September 07, 2018, 09:51:29 PM
Trading , since mining is also profitable but we need to keep in mind very well with the perfect descion whether we should go with which particular coin mining and also we need to find out that whether your electricity costs is very high or low then your mined coins from.your miners and also you need to keep in your mind that the climate where you are living is better or not that remain in favour of the cryptocurrency mining hardware .
Here my recommendation for you is that don't always think that trading will not Result into profit because , trading is the principle way of making earnings in cryptourrency market , so better to do work in trading also with mining .
Both of them are risky but if you will keep patience then surely with time you will make profit .

12  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What do you think, will BTC again jump in December? on: September 07, 2018, 12:15:41 AM
I'm keeping my initial prediction that the bitcoin price will exceed $35,000 before 2019! There is a lot of whales accumulating longs at the current price levels and soon the rocket will launch and we'll not stop until higher heights are reached and the bulls will need some refreshments, but there is ONE CLEAR THING that keeps me motivated: Cryptocurrency is here to improve our world and is the only way forward to a better future.
13  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Is Coinbase a safe wallet ? on: September 06, 2018, 02:20:41 PM
Using online wallet has a big possibility to lost our fund, we do not hold their system they can easily shutdown their data base and we do not access our account anymore, but if there is local bitcoin wallet in your country and you are holding your private key i think that is much better to used to hold your bitcoin. Also blockchain is one of the best wallet for me i do not experience any trouble using their services but i think also coinbase is one of trusted bitcoin wallet even i do not using it but the feedback by other users was a proof that this wallet is very legit.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: myetherwallet is safe or not? on: September 05, 2018, 01:27:49 AM
Myetherwallet is safe unless you have given your private key or you have been phished. Always be careful when you enter your credentials because it might not be the correct site. When you receive e-mails from sites, always check if it is the true site because there are many hackers who would send e-mails saying you need to change password because someone is trying to access your account. If you have slack, do not ever open the e-mails saying you need to update your myetherwallet because it is just a phishing site. If possible, bookmark the site you are using so that you don't need to search it in google. Most likely the first one that would appear when you search is an advertisement and a phishing site.
15  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: What's the best cryptocurrency wallet that you can trust? on: September 05, 2018, 12:47:25 AM
Jaxx is a multiplatform multicurrency wallet. The private keys are stored on your device. It has a beautiful UI, is really sleek and easy to use, and has shapeshift built in. What's great about Jaxx is that it supports every major platform. Desktop clients available for Mac, Windows and Linux. Mobile clients available for iOS and android, and hardware wallet support coming soon. Jaxx is completely open source, so you can check exactly what the application is doing. The jaxx team also is actively adding new coins and one of their missions is to "unite" cryptocurrency and offer a platform that is safe, easy to use and has wide support.
16  Other / Archival / Re: How to earn altcoin every days? on: September 05, 2018, 12:27:17 AM
If you are looking for a way of earning which will give you a highest profit within shorter time then trading is best option for you. If you are looking for an easiest way but with low profit then bounty is the option for you and airdrop is also good but it give too much lower amount which cannot help you in your living. ICO investment is also better and best point in ICO investment is that if everything is legit in ICO and they complete their project then the profit from their coin is confirmed.
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: Perfect Time to Buy! on: September 04, 2018, 12:07:18 PM
This time is a pretty time to grab the opportunity to buy bitcoin which is considered as already affordable price of bitcoin so far because if it gets rise again I swear that this could never be afford by ordinary people. But as of now let's grab opportunity to buy bitcoin and let's see if the market will soar again and so the bitcoin too.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Patience is the key on: September 04, 2018, 10:09:51 AM
Patience is the key but not only that is enough to get successful in crypto investment we need to be smart at our decision making according to the situation and just have to rotate our funds to increase our reap. But being a long term holders is effortless all we need is capital to buy crypto and sit back for years to make profits still anything can be possible so we have to invest only the extra money which is not lend from someone or which is needed for some other important thing in our daily life.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Government bans Bitcoins? on: September 04, 2018, 09:41:42 AM
If here in the Philippines they ban the usage of bitcoin, I would most probably still use utilize it by using a different wallet outside in the country (we have a wallet provider here in the Philippines). Though this will limit my spending capacity and options, I would not want to waste the opportunity of earning bitcoins that potentially may increase its price furthermore in the future.

My friend interviewed the main lawyer of BSP (Central Bank) about bitcoin and the country's view on it. The lawyer said that bitcoin is treated here not as a currency, but rather as property. Therefore, it is not subject to legal tender which opens a variety of options in terms of payment.
20  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Patience is the most important thing on: September 04, 2018, 09:14:08 AM
Having a long patience is very helpful to us for reaching our goals and success in life.  I know that there are certain things that we wanted that so hard to reach or to have so we need much more determination and much more patience so we can able to get what we want.  Anyone of us deserves to have a successful and better life in the future so  it is depends on us how or what we need to do just to have it so it is better that we are going to be much patient in everything's that we do.
