1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PND]Pandacoin | 20 DAYS LEFT | August 30th - Rethinking Digital Currencies | on: August 10, 2014, 11:42:21 PM
Some one is trying to get those guys with the big sell walls to shift them upwards. They don't want to sell at that price, they want to keep the price low and then buy under their own wall.  If they feel that their wall is going to get eaten they'll move it up.  I was a big part of moving the price up to 137 or so last night.  New little walls have pushed it down to 132 this afternoon.  The guy with the 113 LTC wall doesn't scare easy though.  I took some nibbles, another guy took a 20LTC bite but he's holding strong.  I could have taken some bigger bites but I need to see more than vague promises of great things to come before I put down ~$800.00 to eat the wall entirely.  I am actually using the wall to grab up the sells under it.  If everyone here took out 1 or 2 LTC from the big wall we could break through.  It would be clear sailing up to 148 and another big one at 155.  I'm hoping Panda has great things in store.  I'm going to keep on accumulating for now and grab chunks from the big wall when I can.  Another few bites and that guy will pull it or shift it.  Concrete news from the devs would smash it also.  When you look at other coins it is pretty much a wasteland of scams or pump & dump trash.  Vootcoin is supposed to be releasing an anon Exchange and other stuff but it isn't happening; they've missed three deadlines already.  I'll give them another couple of days and then shift more funds over to Panda.

Anyone want to go wall smashing tonight? I'll be on 7:00PM California time.  If something organizes I have LTC ready to join the effort.

What's with all the strange little orders on Mintpal?  Buys of around 80 PND at 136 and sells at 122 for about 70 PND.  Seems like whoever's doing it would lose money.

Edit:

And now how did this happen?

2014-08-10 19:36:36   BUY   0.00000133   75.08270677   0.00009986
2014-08-10 19:35:21   SELL   0.00000122   7.56777587   0.00000923
2014-08-10 19:35:21   SELL   0.00000134   74.52238806   0.00009986
2014-08-10 19:35:01   BUY   0.00000135   73.97037037   0.00009985

I can meet up, I got a good chunk of ltc I can throw, I just need to see it move a wall or two first

Yea, talk about pumps and dumps, I was at my laptop on mintpal when it was at 200 and I didn't sell because I was being dumb.

/sigh

Whatever, I bought in with excess anyway.

so I'm still confused about how pandacoin's POS works.

I'm used to mintcoin, where every 20 days - regardless if the client is open or not - You'll receive minted coins.

Yet, PND seems to be that you have to keep the client open, all the time.

I'm confused, why is PND different?

Makes sense, I'll just keep waiting lol

I'm excited to get my first stake! Won't be much (as it's 2.5% annually) but with our gradual growth it'll pay off!

sooo nothing has been minting, as in, my wallet has been open since the 21st and just a few orphaned blocks the first day and that's it.

Unlocked, says it's staking but nada. How long do I need to wait?
If you mouse over the staking symbol, it will tell you "Expected time to reward is [...]" in the tooltip.

Or, navigate to Help > Debug Window > Console.  And enter:
getstakinginfo
Which should output:
Code:
{
"enabled" : true,
"staking" : true,
"errors" : "",
[...]
"expectedtime" : <expected time to stake a block, in seconds>
}

Now it says 1 day, but on the 21st it said 2 days. That was 4 days ago?

It's a fallacy that you need most of the coins in a PoS coin to attack it; it all depends on the difficulty. You can do an attack even if you have less than 1% of the coins. It's all on the difficulty.

Doesn't a multipool have a TON of PND? I thought I saw that earlier in this thread that someone/a pool was buying fuck tons of PND

this explains why the market hasn't had any sales for the last 5 hours lol

with mint coin if it an orphaned block it'll just keep re-minting until you get it. So in reality, your only getting 1 of those values.

How often will mint's come in? Mint coin is every 20 days right? What about PND?

my client says it is not staking?

how long does it take for it to stake and how many days between minting?
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Pandacoin (PND) - 1 day til POS [Multipool | NO PREMINE | NO IPO | Scrypt | KGW] on: May 20, 2014, 06:24:01 PM
my client is stuck on the PoW blockchain import. It keeps freezing and becoming unresponsive. I'm on Windows 8.1 64bit. Any tips?

For most people it took 20~30min to get through this, a few it took a bit longer, wait it out and dont try to click the wallet window while it works
Yes took me 20 minutes and I have a pretty new computer so I would not be surprised that it would take more than double that on an older one. Just leave it open and go do something else for a while. If you're still doing stuff on your computer it will just take more time

ah kk thanks, wasn't too sure as the thread said ~10

I'll leave it for an hour or so and I'll report back if it's not done syncing.

In other news, you guys think this is someone like woolong pumping or a hype whale?

Ninja edit - Speak of the devil, it finished. How long does it need to stay open for stake to take?

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BETA][EXCHANGE][REALTIME] CoinEX realtime exchange on: May 20, 2014, 02:22:20 PM
I lost over 700,000 Dogecoin to this Coinex scam. At this point I'm not expecting any updates or news. Once I saw how immature the owner of Coinex was, I considered all my coins gone.

Anyways, I thought I would try a Dogecoin Fund for people who can prove that they lost Dogecoin through Coinex.

The details are listed on my website here:
http://dogefund.zapto.org:22550

AND here:
http://dogefund.zapto.org:22550/static/list.html

To be honest, were going to need a lot more miners. So, I'm not sure it will work yet.

100% of Dogecoins that are mined or donated will be redistributed to people who lost their Dogecoin because of Coinex.

Note: This is for Dogecoin only and does not include other coins.

If you want to donate directly:
D9XHimVA26JDeHjEYVCXLTnrhvcVTAQSmi

This is a great idea, once I get moved into my new place I'll point my miner here.

I'm also going to share this on reddit/r/dogecoin to help spread awareness. Sending my email/screencap now.

Yes.
This is necessary, because you still secure the network, validating transactions. So it is different from mining because you don't share enormous amounts of hashpower, but by keeping the wallet on, you still contribute to the background crytpwork.

Ah ok, wish I knew this. I've been missing out on thousands of Mintcoins then by not having it open. Damn....
Bear in mind that your coins will not stake at an fixed rate for every block minted (every minute).

You put some of your coins in staking-blocks, you decide the amounts. Every block (every minute), similarly to the mining process where one miner is awarded with a block, every staking-block you put at staking will have a *probability* of generating a reward. This probability rises with the amount of coins you put to stake and with their age (how much time they stake without a reward).
But if yous take over a long time, like a year, you will get the 2,5% stake.

so with PND if I have 10,000,000 at the start of the year I'll have 10,250,000 by this time next year?

Doesn't seem like much tbh lol maybe I'm just greedy

Wish I wouldn't have bought back into mint. It's future doesn't seem so bright the trend has been nothing but downward for the past few months. A few months back a few people were screaming I'm not selling my mint till it hits 100 sat 1 person inparticular that I can remember lol good luck with that it seems all that's going on in the exchanges is a bunch of dumping. I hate to talk negative especially because this is one of the coins of I've loved since I stumbled across it. I'd just like an explanation as to why people believe mint will have a good future because as I said right now it isn't looking so good.
How do you come to the conclusion that its future doesn't look bright? By the price on the exchanges?
Look at what is being done for mintcoin instead: 50+ merchants, allot of exchanges, android wallet on the way, legally registered foundation and so on..

It has been said many times before: MintCoins is NOT for short time profit. The value will be built organically and not from pump/dump..

Im just waiting for the price to drop enough to hit the ltc market to buy in a substantial quantity

so I have a POS mining question

I bought mintcoin awhile ago and then I loaded my wallet and unlocked it and such and for some reason when I opened it a few weeks ago my income never went up.

So if I want to POS mine my coins, do I need to keep the wallet open at all times? ie- if I want to POS pandacoin I need to leave my computer on, with the wallet open for the next 2 years sorta dealeo?

Thanks.

You will need to have it open long enough to satisfy the minimum stake age.

Odd, my mintcoin was open for a week or so and I still haven't received my POS

I'm redownloading it now to doublecheck.
