1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I successfully build my first rig on: September 04, 2022, 06:28:17 AM
Direct mining motherboards with no risers are the best, they are very close to how you will plug a Asic miner and never look back, I only do updates on hive OS with riserless motherboard, no reboots or downtime.
2  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm worried about the safety of my tokens and coins on: May 01, 2022, 07:25:47 AM
Go with Ledger Nano X, it's the best that I can think of right now, also do know that there are closed sources among hardware wallets too, are you even aware?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is this the right hashrate on: April 19, 2022, 08:17:10 AM
How come im getting 20MH off two 1060 6gb versions that inset up for my little brother? I'm using Nicehash and this is what im getting, power draw is 60watt, is this what im suppose to get.
Its exactly what you should get out of a GTX1060, any OC attempt will cost you more ( high power consumption) and its not worth it, I won't build a mining rig using GTX1060, their power consumption let them down in today's standards.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest in new projects? on: March 09, 2022, 02:58:03 PM
The project looks promising but how the team will proceed with this project remains a mystery so instead of placing a big bet on this project I would say you should play safe, invest very small amount of money and see how the team handle the project projects this days are cash grabbers.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hashrate loss on 3070 ti fixed on: March 09, 2022, 02:52:33 PM
I also have a gigabyte 3070ti that lose hashrate when temp is up to 59C but a little table fan pointed at the backplate do the job very well, the real culprit is the mem temp, extra cooling is needed if you own 3070ti and other Gddr6x GPUs out there.
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: About bear season on: March 09, 2022, 02:33:11 PM
Things started going well for me when I stopped FOMO addiction in me, now I have few set of rules when buying and selling crypto like..

1. Always create your crypto portfolio in bear market with the exact amount you are ready to throw away for longer time till market start turning green again.

2. Never hesitate to take profits when your coins are look good in your wallet, take profit and wait for stronger dips.

HODL isn't that easy but it's possible if you use that money you aren't going to use on the long run, also HODL is easier if you have other source of incomes.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My second bigger mining farm project is coming on: March 05, 2022, 09:24:35 AM
You should be fine since you plan to build a farm, what's a mining farm without proper coolings? You don't have to be told that those 3090s need extra coolings and gaps when building them up just find a friend that's into this longer then you have, in this case two heads are better than one.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: A strange error on: March 04, 2022, 09:51:57 AM
There is a conflict going on among the graphic cards, is your motherboard a SLI/Crossfire one? That can be the culprit here the best thing you can do is make sure the riser from the same two GPUs stays in the two x16 slots and the Vega stays in one x1 slot, if it's same then reinstall hiveOS.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dual mining will save the day on: March 04, 2022, 09:42:48 AM
Relax people ETH PoS will not happen, postponement is the only way forward for Ethereum and also Ravencoin can not be mine with another coin in dual mining mode because ravencoin on its own puts lot of stress on GPUs and takes lot of power too.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay away from crypto influencers on: March 04, 2022, 09:21:07 AM
Sigh! I'm surprised that few comments on here are still taking influencers side after all the damages those influencers have done on our new crypto investors, I have someone who called crypto a scam till this day because of a influencer on YouTube, he lost all his money and the funny part is the token is a scam project.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Non-custodial Wallet App security for long term on: March 03, 2022, 02:17:04 PM
I've been in the crypto space since 2016 and I've held some coins since that time in trust wallet, coinomi, and a few others yet none got hacked, the thing with security lies in your hand, private keys and recovery seeds are meant to be kept offline if you can do this you won't have any problem.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be prepared on: March 03, 2022, 02:03:22 PM
Sorry to say but this is a painful truth, crypto space is now a place where scammers feed with ease, the more we getting closer to true adoption the more scammers are increasing in numbers day by day because more newbies are rushing in, I just hope that these newbies can actually do some research themselves because this space is far from been safe for any newbie.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Building my first mining rig became easier with bitcointalk. on: March 03, 2022, 01:47:46 PM
@F91G this question is for you, is disabling graphic cards backlight add any meaning to watt consumption I mean those lights can even take up to 10watt combine maybe I'm wrong but I've never disabled my GPU backlight since u bought them.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I need help with my setup on: March 02, 2022, 02:00:46 PM
Do you mind sharing the hashrate you getting out of those graphic cards I'm suspecting you've OC the hell out of the graphic cards or one of the graphic cards, before proceeding to another possible reasons please return to default OC settings and run your mining rig for 24hours, drop feedback later.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Linux Vs windows OS security on: March 02, 2022, 01:55:37 PM
It doesn't matter where your wallet is installed malware affects Linux and Windows OS combine but windows OS is more vulnerable, I will choose windows OS and use my head as my antivirus over malware because antivirus can't safe your ass when it comes to real Trojans and malwares, thread carefully and you will be fine.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scammers aren't playing around, get serious with your money on: March 02, 2022, 01:34:27 PM
Scammers are becoming more smarter everyday, they are now capable of spending more money on good looking website to confuse some newbies, I lost 600$ to a new metaverse project this way last week, before I know what's going on the team block comments on telegram and now their website is offline, the thing is I can't sell the token on pancakeswap after buying, be extremely careful fams.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: DON'T QUIT on: March 01, 2022, 02:55:18 PM
Sometimes it is better to quit

I think the idea of quiters never win and winners never quit has led some persons to early grave. There is no harm in quiting, it is better you quit than trying the wrong way. When you don't know how things work, quit. Quiting does not mean you cannot rejoin, just quit temporarily and acquire some required skills and you can key in again.

He who fights and runs, lives to fight another day and the same is the hero. So, it is good you learn how to do it than doing it wrongly all your life.

Do you actually meant it when you said "Worstest"? Grin
Quit is quit, taking things slow and using another strategy is always welcome but this isn't quitting it's just like taking a break, when you hear people say don't quit it means learning from your mistakes and adjusting yourself.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What do you think about flux coin? on: March 01, 2022, 02:33:09 PM
I'd mine and keep flux if it's a smart contract project like Ethereum but this cloudy thing isn't encouraging, this is a risky choice because the use case isn't that very important, the only advantage I see is strong partnership and web 3.0 .
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: can't buy ETH with apple pay on metamask on: March 01, 2022, 02:28:04 PM
Why metamask? There are few other alternatives like coinomi wallet, trust wallet or even binance exchange, you can use P2P payment on binance if you don't want anyone to know that you are buying, some people are also using coinbase platform to buy coins using debit cards.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Now it's meta here and there on: February 28, 2022, 08:20:15 AM
This is why I stick with ETH, polkadot ecosystem, avalanche, NEO and few serious projects in the space, 90% of new tokens and coins are just catching cruise with people's money using words (promises) as their ultimate weapon, I've been here since 2017 I've seen enough, new tokens and coins aren't something I want to keep, I will only invest for short term gain.
