2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Testnet under Attack on: September 27, 2018, 03:41:38 PM
0.1BTC were made out of thin air on Bitcoin Testnet on September 26. The attacker showed that it’s possible to exploit the inflation vulnerability bug. Reddit users called miners to help in defending the network.

Apparently, an attacker is mining the invalid-rules chain, the one built before they fixed the latest bug. They have exploited the Bitcoin Core’s bug CVE-2018-17144 to generate 0.1BTC on Testnet. See the exploit transaction and read more: https://coinedtimes.com/bitcoin-testnet-under-attack/

Well, here is one analysis of Gemini dollar. I would say it's centralized, private coin and completely opposite of what we are fighting for

Bitcoiners 2009: central banks are evil, be your own sovereign bank, something something coming collapse of filthy statist bucks
Bitcoiners 2018: we just got regulatory approval for multiple USD-backed StableCoins and are also pushing for several Bitcoin ETFs to be approved.

Craig is not the owner of 1933 wallet, all the addresses which he claimed were either Mt.Gox addresses, or didn't even exist on the dates which he back-forged in the agreements. He even claimed the address where the stolen funds from the earlier Mt.Gox hack went was his. He is a well-known nut case, just picking random large addresses and claiming they are his. 1933 is most probably from SR.

Btw, I managed to find a link between 1LDN (Ross) and 1DKY (600k btc) wallets, by randomly picking and following one outgoing transaction from 1LDN. There are 50 intermediate addresses between these two wallets. Funds passed through Instawallet before being deposited to 1DKY. Someone who knows how to look for links non-manually, could try to find other and shorter links between these two wallets.
