21  Economy / Speculation / Re: Top? on: October 20, 2017, 08:20:23 PM
$15,000 because lucif said so.
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hope you didn't sell Bitcoin at $300, because we're over $500 now! on: October 19, 2017, 11:11:14 AM
Well Bitcoin Cash is back to $336 at this moment. I wish I had sold at $700. It is pretty much a piece of junk. The only think you can buy with them are Antminers.

Haha it was few years ago  Shocked Cheesy Cheesy

No, 25hashcoin is a rabid Bitcoin Cash supporter, referring to it as "Bitcoin".
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Possible End of Bitcoin on: October 18, 2017, 11:16:54 AM
SHA256 is already quantum resistant. ECDSA not so much. However, it is not to difficult to replace ECDSA with some other quantum-resistant public key cryptography technology.

Quantum technology is not a threat to mining. It is more a threat to revealing the private key from the public key (but not just from the address, which is a digest of the public key).
24  Other / Meta / Re: end of all signature campaigns on: October 18, 2017, 12:29:08 AM
Somebody already asked for this back in 2014:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=786662.0

but Theymos decided to keep allowing signature campaigns.

Pity.
25  Other / Meta / Re: Lost access saturday night. on: October 15, 2017, 12:03:57 PM
The problem is that i never :

- write a bitcoin address on the forum

If the only way to reset a password through the admin is with a signed message then perhaps the forum should capture a read-only addresses when a user first signs up. This address can never be changed.

Asking somebody produce a staked an address after they lost their account seems less than ideal.
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's freaking 2017 - Do you own 1 BTC? on: October 15, 2017, 11:45:19 AM
If you don't have 1 BTC in 2017, it's going to get harder for you to obtain one in 2018!  Grin
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mansion for sale in London. Price 17m euros, and payment accepted: Bitcoin on: October 15, 2017, 11:39:34 AM
This has happened elsewhere. It is not really surprising that it happened in the UK too. According to the article the seller is doing this specifically to promote Bitcoin. Good for him, but in reality I don't think there are any advantages to accepting GPB or Bitcoin as real estate transactions are complex so an extra step taken to convert the payment between one currency type to another is nothing.
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it risky to turn all my money to bitcoins? on: October 15, 2017, 11:34:06 AM
is it risky to turn all my money to bitcoins? anyhow this money sits in the bank and do nothing for!

Of course it is risky to convert all your money in the bank into bitcoins. Even if you 100% believed in Bitcoin you cannot predict it's price at any point in time. It may crash, even temporarily, at a time when you need cash. You should always keep some cash in your savings account for unforeseen emergencies.
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Ethereum on: October 01, 2017, 12:01:42 PM
If you compare the two main cryptocurrency, namely Bitcoin and Ethereum, which one has the most promising future?
In terms of evolution, Bitcoin reached a maximum of roughly 4800$, whereas Ethereum reached roughly 394$: in other words, it is a potential increase of 33 % for Ethereum, but only 24% for Bitcoin.

I think your logic is flawed, because for it to be valid requires the assumption that both coins have an equal probability of going back up to their respective ATH valuations within a specific timeframe. There is no way you can make this assumption as there are too many other variables to consider as well.
30  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this the top? on: September 10, 2017, 10:19:25 PM
At the very least it is a local top. However I don't think $5,000 will remain the top for too long. The awareness of Bitcoin is still growing.
31  Other / Meta / Re: Posts quality, WTF!? on: September 10, 2017, 08:42:51 PM
While im reading some information this is caught my attention so now i just want to ask some questions is there a required length and quality that we need to post?

Well, one thing I noticed is that the shit poster would reply to the first thread with a post that is not necessarily short or bad. However, the answer to the OP's question or point has already addressed many times before the shit poster's reply. So one measure of quality should be the uniqueness and originality of the reply. A response that is correct but is just a repetition of what somebody else has said is for the most part a shit post.
32  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who wants to see the price go down? on: September 10, 2017, 08:32:11 PM
I can't wait to see it at 3K level. I will load what I can buy. Btw, I own a dozen of it, so I'm loosing in the short term, but I know it will pass 6k by 2018.  Time to load again What's your entry price?

If it hits $3K will you load up or change your mind wait till it hits $2K?

Personally I own more than enough so I can't be bothered to move in and out as the price fluctuates.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: To Buy BCH or not to Buy BCH? on: August 29, 2017, 09:16:01 PM
The price looks interesting to me atm but I really think that as this coin has survived this long and is still trying its best to compete Bitcoins, neither am I saying this in its favor nor am I against it but it is definitely a chance that we should grab because a possible pump may take place for BCH in the future and we should be prepared to get out with the profits at correct time.

It's looking more like "dump" than "pump" at the moment.
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The 'real' Bitcoin on: August 29, 2017, 04:09:48 PM
all I do is stay on the side with highest price, where I can make bigger profits.
When Bitcoin Cash takes over from the fighting two SegWit prongs, you will make the MOST profit being on BCH as it surpasses BTC.

Well in the last day or so Bitcoin Cash has crashed from $600+ to $540 while BTC is making new highs.

When can we expect another BCH/BCC pump?
35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think are the biggest disadvantages of Bitcoin? on: August 25, 2017, 10:32:13 AM
The biggest disadvantage is that there is no incentive to run a full node. Most users end up leeching off of the network, and don't give a damn about decentralization as long as they can connect to a node.
36  Other / Meta / Re: 2FA to Active on Bitcointalk Forum (Requested to Admin) on: August 24, 2017, 09:02:16 PM
Just bumping this in hopes something gets done soon.

We've been asking for this since around 2011 or 2012 when financial transactions started happening based on forum userids. Back then, the response was that it would be incorporated into the new forum software.
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for Taxi on: August 24, 2017, 08:57:19 PM
Why stop with taxis and Uber. I think I want to pay my bus fare with bitcoins.
38  Other / Off-topic / Re: Have you been promoted this year? on: August 24, 2017, 08:39:28 PM
I was demoted this year. I was relieved of a lot of key responsibilities.

Yet my salary went up a bit. I think that's because I am the only one who knows how a particular crap legacy back-office trading system works. I frequently get woken up on Sunday nights because the system is screwed up after weekend maintenance and clients in Asia where it is already Monday morning can't book their trades.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 🔥 BITCOlN CASH JUST MINED FIRST EVER 8MB BLOCK!!!! 🔥 on: August 24, 2017, 08:21:23 PM
https://blockchair.com/bitcoin-cash/block/479469
Number of transactions of this block: 37,814

Now there is no doubt that BCH is the real Bitcoin!

5To blockchain incoming within a year ! Enjoy more centralization due to less nodes operating.
Are there Bitcoin cash nodes running? What I mean is, what is the point? Even if you run a node now the increase in the size of the blockchain is going to be so big that at some point the person running the node will have to invest more and more money to keep running the node or stop doing it, so what is the point of running a node of bitcoin cash when in a few months or years you are not going to be able to keep it running.

I will have a Bitcoin Cash node up and running ... once it syncs. I have been trying to sync since around August 10. It is around 20 weeks behind and it estimates around 3 more days to sync.

Once that happens I will keep it running long enough to move all my BCH to various exchanges. I'd be happy if I could get $700 a coin.
40  Economy / Speculation / Re: what will you do? on: August 24, 2017, 08:13:59 PM
hi, what will you do? If the bitcoin price is suddenly cheap

I will crash.

No, wait ... Bitcoin will crash! And I will buy more of it.
