561  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The meme that started it all - "Magic internet money Join Us!" on: September 27, 2020, 05:49:14 PM
Original version is still far more sympathetic. It's even more artistic as it takes more freedoms with the style and the best part is, it doesn't take itself too seriously, it's the best kind of meme; something you can take sarcastically, playfully while still being powerful.

The latter/newer one is just too cringe for my taste. Yeah, creator obviously has put more effort to it but it's not bringing anything new or worthy that could be used as a meme marketing.
562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KUCOIN Hacked on: September 26, 2020, 04:33:18 PM
Funny how crypto markets didn't took any hit even though it was a huge sum of money. Paradigm has shifted or something and people are not afraid that of hackers crash the charts by dumping the money, or people have just collectively decided that this is a bottom now.
563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Dash undervalued? on: September 24, 2020, 07:35:55 PM
<---cut--->
Do you think Dash is undervalued? If not, why? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smiley

From what i've noticed, fundamentals don't mean crap at this round of altcoin bull run. For example people are aping in on food-meme tokens and money involved those is just insane. Yeah, Dash is highly undervalued imho, and so are may other older coins with good fundamentals. Shit tokens on the other hand seem to be on fire, and i am hoping that most of them come crashing down and money from those moves back to coins with real fundamentals.
564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The IRS offers reward to anyone able to break Monero and the LN on: September 24, 2020, 07:12:00 PM
Reward is $625,000? Wouldn't you make lot's of more money if you shorted monero with all the possible leverage right before giving the info? I mean it wouldn't be ethical but one could argue that breaking monero and giving the info to IRS is not ethical either. Or would that be considered insider trading?
565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain and Bitcoin adoption globally. What is the cause of the slow pace. on: September 24, 2020, 03:14:28 PM
I see a lot of adoption happening, but that's just some sort of adoption. Right now the big players who want to adopt any sort of blockchain solution must be worried about scaling issues, and they need to find a right platform that offers all the things that big institutions want in order to join in.

It depends what they are using the blockchain for, but if it's even needed, for the big players blockchain probably needs to have a build in kyc if they are dealing with tokenized securities for example. That blockchain would need to have privacy instead of transparency, instant settlement finality and all happening in permissionless blockchain because without that it's really pointless to even have a blockchain.

While at the same time token issuers need to be able to cancel transactions because it's a legal an pr nightmare to try to pin the blame to an user that has been hacked or made an error because lack of skills to use the tech.

And i don't even go to the game theory on providing enough incentives for it being secure versus it being cheap enough to use, that's way over my comprehension.

That kind of service doesn't even exist yet to my knowledge. So, we shall keep waiting for that adoption.
566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BEWARE OF FAKE GIVEAWAYS IN DISGUISE AS UNISWAP on: September 23, 2020, 06:51:19 PM
The scammers in the crypto community will not cease to take cheap advantage of newbies using successfully conducted projects to scam them.
A team of scammers are at it again using the name of UNISWAP to conduct a fake giveaway to steal from the unsuspecting newbies. The giveaway is announced through a medium post claimed to be UNISWAP's with other scam team members commenting to give testimonies about what they've earned from the giveaway to attract people to be their victims. A check on Uniswap Twitter and telegram channel doesn't contain anything about the giveaway. Don't fall for it. It's a scam.

Could you elaborate how does this scam work exactly? Because you didn't mention that they would ask for money. Are they using fake websites to link your metamask and drain your wallet or what? I am just asking because some people like to call scam on everything. Like when they get tokens that have no value it's instant "Scam!"
567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Margin Trading on Centralized ? on: September 22, 2020, 10:42:35 PM
The trend of decentralized crypto margin trading platforms is coming?

I didn't even think about that, but i guess that could be technically possible now when we have DeFi. But i would see that all kinds of market manipulation could happen without any oversight. I am not saying that it doesn't happen already but at least they are trying to regulate cex.

569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm scared of ethereum gas fee on: September 20, 2020, 08:14:53 PM
...
Won't all these be solved when ETH2 is launched?
...

Yeah, when ever that is going to happen. It has been promised to launch for a very long time now and i am really doubtful that they keep on the current schedule, even though they are way better to estimate when it's finished then me, i somehow think they are too optimistic, because they have been too optimistic before and it's a huge project with a lot of moving parts. And everything needs to work without any bugs to exploit or it will be worthless launch.
570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Deposit UNI = $50 Bucks on: September 20, 2020, 07:02:23 PM
I just got an e-mail from Huobi about this cool offer and wanted to share it

You deposit 400 UNI and get $50 in free credits for trading - just did it and will be getting the credits next week.

Free is good imo.

Here is the deposit if you want to join in  https://www.huobi.com/en-us/finance-beta/deposit/uni/

No need to thank me - enjoy the free trading

Ok, huobi wants sell wall liquidity for those i guess, but how much does it costs to move those unis in there right now? Fees were terrible while ago, but i guess they aren't over 50 bucks.
571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm scared of ethereum gas fee on: September 20, 2020, 06:54:58 PM
The fact that the fees are getting higher could just prevent the price going over the top. I mean i understand speculative investment but when you can't afford to move eth or any token in it, what is it worth actually and why would people buy that before the 2.0 is locked and ready.
572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The bounty scam will gradually go away on: September 19, 2020, 03:01:10 PM

Lol, when it's going away you think? There wouldn't be bounty advertising if that wasn't being effective and cheap way to advertise. Just because some people dislike ads, it doesn't kill the whole advertising game. There is a way though, you can literally filter your own feed and stop following obvious paid shill accounts in twitter or facebook or in youtube.
573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: UNISWAP (UNI) is driving me CRAZY!! on: September 18, 2020, 10:17:34 PM
It's driving me crazy too as i totally missed this train. I avoided uniswap even though i had an opportunity to trade there at the beginning with one token i got. I decided to sell that on etherdelta. More the price rises, more i get frustrated. I avoid looking at the chart now and i guess i should be happy for people getting tons of money, but i just hope it will crash and burn.
574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Uniswap on: September 18, 2020, 05:43:35 AM
...
IF eth 2.0 get of the ground and fees can be dealt with Uniswap or something siliar could take a large chunk of the traditional stock market becuase the trades are trasperant, and liquidity can be had.

No other tradional market is transperant.

I actually see this could be the reason it won't get to adopted to stocks. Traditional investors don't want everyone to see on what you have invested with timestamps. In fact quite opposite. Without providing zero knowledge for transactions with kyc implemented on the exchange because of regulators, this won't work.
575  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kraken is launching a crypto bank! on: September 17, 2020, 07:50:32 PM
Wait, does this mean if i lived there, i could use this as my main bank account and i could get my salary paid in there and pay my bill from there as well? I wouldn't need to debank, i could just choose crypto native bank.
576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Points, Miles, Cash-back... Should we create similar systems in bitcoin? on: September 16, 2020, 05:21:16 AM

Pay with bitcoin and save 2% as the standard (over credit cards) would go a long way if we want bitcoin to spread.

What do you mean by "We" creating this? Isn't this just up to merchants if they want to support bitcoin and give discounts if paid with it? If some merchants want to support bitcoin they will try to lure in bitcoiners by discounts. But even if they prefer getting bitcoin, they will most likely buy it from the market with the profits they made with fiat money.

Also, i am already getting my cash-back in bitcoin with my Wirex card.
577  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India looking to Re-ban Bitcoin on: September 16, 2020, 03:49:49 AM
It's a big country and it will always have all kind of of proposals. Most of them are not going to pass. These kind of bills are from old people that aren't very tech-savvy, and these old people will lose in the end. Big headlines just makes me think that someone wants markets to panic on every bill they propose.
578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: The newest#DEFI project to look out on: September 15, 2020, 10:12:50 AM
Not in a million years i would put a penny in this. And why are people supporting anon devs now? For bitcoin and monero i understand the need of anonymity, but when some crappy defi is asking money from people, i am starting to think that anyone funding these deserves to lose their money.

580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: European Crypto Exchange Hacked For 5 million dollars 😱😰😢😢 on: September 12, 2020, 10:33:40 AM
This is extremely difficult for the Eterbase team. It's already gone, it will only be back if the hacker will decide to give it back, lol (extremely impossible).
Using such a mixer for this hack is kinda impossible, it's really huge amount of Bitcoin, I also don't know what the hacker will do. The address for sure used in the hack is already flagged in some exchanges or other services.

They moved some to Binance and exchanges are working together these days to combat hackers. And since they moved the cryptos to exchanges, Etherbase might actually might get those funds back
