1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bitcoin SV gets delisted from Binance and Shapeshift! Kraken might follow. on: April 16, 2019, 01:53:06 PM
Recently we reported about the #WeAreAllHodlonaut movement in crypto Twitter.

It was caused by Craig Wright, Calvin Ayre (the BSV camp) and a Twitter figure who started the LNTrustChain movement with a nickname @hodlonaut.
The BSV camp was threatening hodlonaut of suing him but failed to reach out to him due to his anonymous internet personality. The whole crypto Twitter got up to their feet and showed support for Hodlonaut by changing their profile pictures and nicknames to his. But it all went down when Craig Wright's lawyers sent legal documents to Peter McCormack, who stepped in the battle and claimed that he is the person behind @Hodlonaut's Twitter profile. Later, CZ from Binance threatened the BCV camp of delisting their coin, if they will continue this “nonsense”. Now it has played out to reality and Binance among with other high profile exchanges are delisting Bitcoin SV.

To read more about this nonsense, visit our latest article: https://bestcoininvestments.com/bitcoin-sv-gets-delisted-from-binance-and-shapeshift-kraken-might-follow/

What is your opinion? Does this show centralization within crypto companies or the opposite?
2  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-04-15] Lukashenko has “left a place” for crypto-mining near the NPP on: April 15, 2019, 08:52:42 AM
Alexander Lukashenko, during a meeting at the High Technology Park with the IT sector representatives, announced that he had “left a place” for Bitcoin mining near the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant.

Lukashenko said:
"Wait - the nuclear power plant will be finished, and there will be a surplus of electricity... I left a place there. Let's build up farms, mine these bitcoins and sell them. Besides, people are talking, if you have Bitcoins, there is no problem selling them.”

BelNPP (Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant) is located in Astravyets in Grodno County. The first power unit will be set into operation in December 2019, second in 2020, during summer.

Additionally, the final rules of the cryptocurrency sector were defined during autumn 2018 at the Minsk High Technology Park (HTP). It is a special economic zone that its creators dream to see as the analog of the Silicon Valley of the USA.

3  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-03-30] Bithumb, leading Korean exchange, hacked again?! on: March 30, 2019, 10:28:51 AM
Just recently, on the morning of March 30, 2019, Bithumb saw yet another cyber attack. It appears that the exchange was hacked and unofficial information says that around 3 million EOS have been stolen.
https://twitter.com/BithumbOfficial/status/1111877947592310785
https://twitter.com/DoveyWan/status/1111839155380801536

Withdrawals and Deposits are temporary paused

The exchange started communicating to it's followers on Twitter, saying that they apologize to their users for delaying deposit and withdraw services. Also, they wanted to inform about the “circumstances” of the grounds and informed that users' funds are safe.
However, it appears that 3,1 million EOS might have been transferred out of their hot storage within 16 transactions, says the unofficial source.
Moreover, it looks like not only EOS tokens were stolen, the same unofficial source claims that more than 20 million XRP were stolen as well!

To find out the actual timeline on how things escalated in this particular case, read in our latest article: https://bestcoininvestments.com/bithumb-leading-korean-exchange-is-being-hacked/

How come Bithumb hasn't learned a thing from the previous hack? Do you think this is different than the previous one?
4  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-03-29] ZebPay Launches BTC Lightning Network Payments on: March 29, 2019, 09:10:44 PM
ZebPay, initially an Indian-based cryptocurrency exchange which was forced to shut-down their services in India, now has come out with an announcement that they now accept Bitcoin Lightning Network payments. Zebpay customers now will be able to use their Bitcoin to make instant transactions. Primarily this is meant for all the Bitcoin enthusiasts who want to spend their Bitcoin like regular cash.

Regulatory issues

Earlier we reported that during the September of 2018, Zebpay needed to shut down their Indian services because of regulatory issues. This was the outcome of the all-out Indian ban on cryptocurrencies by the Reserve Bank of India. But now the company has successfully found a new place to reside – Malta. Within Malta, they can continue operating with their services. However, the company took a heavy hit because of this particular issue and went from $5 million in trading volume to around $17,000 at the moment, judging by coinmarketcap.com. Additionally, they only have two active trading pairs – BTC/EUR and XRP/EUR.

To find out what services ZebPay Lightning Network will offer, read our latest article: https://bestcoininvestments.com/zebpay-launches-btc-lightning-network-payments/

Do you think ZebPay can get their share of the market back by launching Lightning Network payments?
5  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-03-29] Send Bitcoin Using WhatsApp? on: March 29, 2019, 11:06:57 AM
Recently Wuabit announced that soon WhatsApp users will be able to send Bitcoin via chatting. Wuabit is a cryptocurrency wallet and they have developed a new “software agent” which is powered by a specialized AI.

Wuabit claims that sending Bitcoin via WhatsApp will be as easy as chatting. All users will have to do is to type in a few command lines like “balance” and within the chat, it will show up your balance in the wallet in the form of a regular message. If you would want to send BTC to somebody, you would type in “Send 0.01 BTC to Kate”. Of course, that is if you actually have a contact named Kate in your application. Then a response message will pop up saying “Ready to send 0.01 BTC to Kate, ok?” to which you reply “Ok!” and the transaction is done!

Similar projects

LiteIM provides a similar service. Zulu Republic, a Swiss Based crypto company, is the company behind LiteIM. Both companies share plans on delivering this service to all social media platforms, instead of creating their own. LiteIM has no control over users private keys. The user has full control over his assets. Currently, they support Telegram and Facebook Messenger apps and have announced that WhatsApp will be coming soon. With LiteIM, initially, you could send only Litecoin. But now after a few months, they have integrated Bitcoin, Ethereum and Zulu Republic Token ZTX.
While LiteIM is already up and running, Wuabit claims that their services “are near completion” to present it for the public. That means that after a month or so, we will be able to try the new service out.

At the moment, the biggest problem with LiteIM is that the person receiving the payment needs to be already registered on LiteIM, will Wuabit change this?

We elaborate on the importance of this service and question wheather this will drive mass-adoption for bitcoin and crypto in general?

7  Other / Beginners & Help / 7 Ways How to Report a Scam Exchange on: March 15, 2019, 02:27:00 PM
In this article, we look over the 7 ways how to report a scam exchange.

So you have been scammed by a shady exchange. This is nothing new in the cryptocurrency field, and many of us have been there. Precedents like BiteBTC.com, Coinsmarkets.com, Bitconnect, Bitpetite and many more have “exit-scammed” and stole their users' funds. Although previous practice shows that there is not much you can do about this situation, we stress it's not all that black and white.

We contacted many lawyers and people who are connected with law and finance. They all say that you should better forget about your money/investment which you lost because there is literally nothing you can do. The main reason being that these companies have a hidden true beneficiary and they choose specific countries where to register. Mostly those are countries with high-risk jurisdictions which aren't cooperating with international organizations. In addition, it is relatively easy to become a licensed registered agent within these countries. The competition has grown fierce, costs have gone down, and it’s easy to start a reselling business and still offer attractive pricing while raking in a nice margin.

You can check the list of some of these countries and our advice on how to report scammy exchanges in the links provided in our recent article:
https://bestcoininvestments.com/7-ways-how-to-report-a-scam-exchange/

Best of luck, and always research the exchange you are willing to do business with! After all, it's your hard earned money!

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / OneCoin Leader Arrested in LA by the FBI! on: March 14, 2019, 01:21:59 PM
In early March, the FBI arrested the leader of One Coin Konstantin Ignatov. He is the younger brother of Ruja Ignatova who was the previous leader of One Coin. Konstantin was arrested on March 6, 2019, in Los Angeles. One coin is one of the most talked-about cryptocurrency pyramid schemes/scams in the world. They have an acclaimed user base of 3 million people. They have been investigated multiple times, charged by various governments, yet somehow they still remain in business. Another thing is their obsessive followers. They're almost like a cult and they do not believe anything that disbelievers say. It almost seems like they have been trained on how to view criticism about OneCoin. However, the OneCoin scheme has brought in more than $4 billion from its users worldwide.

OneCoin has had many legal issues over it's life-span. They don't have an actual blockchain and the price of their coin is managed internally.
Also, they do not sell cryptocurrency, but "educational" materials ranging from $100 to $220,000, and their community seems like a cult.
What's behind this? We dug a little deeper.

10  Economy / Service Discussion / Update on BiteBTC exchange scam! on: March 13, 2019, 08:57:11 AM
A User contacted us saying that BiteBTC stole 0,45 BTC from him by disabling his account.
BiteBTC writes that he had violated the terms and conditions, but the user claims that he hadn't violated anything!

Of course, we don't know the full back-story, but judging by the past communication of BiteBTC we wouldn't be surprised if their new strategy was accusing users of violating their terms and conditions.

12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Market Analysis, Tuesday, March 12, 2019 on: March 12, 2019, 12:10:18 PM
Today we look at the Bitcoin market analysis. Currently, Bitcoin is heading towards historical resistance level that caused some of the largest price drops during the current bear market. From the macro market perspective, there are two very likely scenarios and one not so much.

Bullish scenario – We break the resistance and head towards the previous accumulation zone (Highlighted blue box with green arrow). To break this resistance we need high buying volume which in the current market state is highly unlikely. However, there are factors that might act as a catalysator for bullish move initiation (See further text). If the accumulation zone is broken, afterward the bull market is most likely to be ignited. This is a really unlikely event.

Bearish scenario – Heading towards resistance will most likely trigger fast 1-2 candle drop to previous historical accumulation zone. We cannot know how the price will react to further levels. Because there is no historical data that supports any predictions in such market conditions regarding volume and exposure.

Accumulation scenario –  This scenario is the most unlikely one because the resistance line historically has proven to cause rapid movements. Going sideways through resistance like this on such a high timeframe is the most unlikely event. The only viable option would be a small breakout that leads to a retest of the resistance and results in accumulation.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Dash Core Group plans to let go 8% of their staff on: March 06, 2019, 02:42:27 PM
On March 7, 2019, Dash Core Group (DCG) plans to let go approximately 8% of their staff, says in their official announcement by the company's CEO Ryan Taylor. They are about to remove their Human Resources team, remove 2 people from the Strategy team and one person from the Business Development team.

As Ryan Taylor writes in his announcement, DCG faced tough decisions to maintain the company's financial stability. The main reason for this is the long-lasting “crypto-winter”, which affects the majority of crypto companies around the world. It looks like the last several months for DCG have been mostly about reducing their budget. Also, the company is in a “hiring freeze” mode for about 6 months now.

Read more about which functions of the company are affected and what operational changes are there going to be: https://bestcoininvestments.com/dash-core-group-letoff/

What do you think? 8% can be considered as a small amount, however, are they going to function like before? Or maybe even better?  Huh
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: STO vs. ICO - What is the difference? on: March 06, 2019, 11:12:01 AM
Who told you that if something is regulated, then there is guaranteed profit?

Who told you that we guarantee a profit on STO investments? Roll Eyes

We're just comparing these two offering types. It's for you to decide - whether you want to invest or not.
Anyway - thank you for your opinion! Smiley
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / STO vs ICO! What is the main difference? on: March 06, 2019, 10:38:30 AM
At this moment, when new STOs are coming out, it is important to understand the difference between ICOs and STOs.
STO is a token offering that is similar to an ICO, but the main difference is that STOs are regulated.

STOs have become so popular because over the past four years, approximately, pretty much every ICO failed to maintain at least one of the five promises that I call success criteria.  Roll Eyes

1. Most ICOs failed to attract enough investment.
2. The majority of ICOs failed to maintain a stable price of the coin or to increase the value of the coin, and so it dropped dramatically.
3. Some of ICOs failed to return the money to the investors.
4. Many ICOs failed to be able to produce the software technology or the ecosystem that they promised during fundraising.
5. Almost all of them eventually failed to be profitable.

"I would compare ICO to vinyl discs, and STO to music cassettes. After the music cassettes, there were CDs and DVDs then the MP3, then Spotify." - Stefano Virgilli.

To learn more about the main differences, read more in our latest article: https://bestcoininvestments.com/sto-vs-ico/

Would you rather invest in an ICO or an STO?  Huh

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you invested in TRX (Tron)? Should you or should you not? on: March 06, 2019, 09:38:53 AM
Tron  is a platform based token like any other platform token. As a technology tron is better than many platform tokens. Recently they launched their mainnet and that is already  successfully done. Many project and dapps are successfully  growing in the ecosystem. And as a platform they choose bit torrent as a first ico option and that is very much hyped and successful. And they will do many more thing in the future. They have a great team, great team of developers and great advisos and in all of it thy have Justin sun. Maybe tron got so much hype but I think in future they will do many think. So yes I am in tron and will be for a long time.

Agreed. Also, their community is quite big. We believe that Tron is here to stay. To be honest, it quite depends on the success of Ethereum whether Tron will become more mainstream. They have a rather different target audience than Ethereum.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SHOCKING: BiteBTC is still Scamming ICOs And Users! on: March 06, 2019, 09:17:11 AM
So many users have been locked out of their accounts.
There even have been stories that as soon as they press the "withdraw" button, their account becomes inactive.
That is funny how the deposit function in any of these scam exchanges always work, but somehow, the withdraw function always has problems. Smiley

Obviously that their volume is fake as well, because, who in the right mind, after seeing all this bad press, would use their services?
Also, this is not something new, this has been going on for a couple of months now.
