1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: UNISWAP (UNI) is driving me CRAZY!! on: September 19, 2020, 07:09:45 PM
The uniswap surprise brought smiles to the faces of several individuals. Several persons became instantly millionaire without having to go through the hurdles. Thanks to uniswap for the distribution of the UNI tokens to the users of the platform who are their closest and most active community members.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple the next bitcoin? on: September 19, 2020, 07:04:24 PM
I really don't understand on what capacity does Ripple stand as a rival to Bitcoin. Its rather amusing to see the post. Ripple is still far behind the reach of Bitcoin and may never get their till the end of time. Bitcoin is the unrivaled king of cryptocurrency and that has been since the inception of the industry.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New coins like Uniswap and Sushi on: September 19, 2020, 07:01:47 PM
It takes a great deal of effort and community support for a project to get to that stage. Uniswap has high volume of users and that made the project blossom. The token made so much growth within a short while, because it has a high degree of liquidity and as it stands the project deals with liquidity management.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ClipX steals KYC data and shuts down on: September 19, 2020, 06:55:51 PM
I knew something wasn't right when I learnt of their request for KYC documents, it was obvious that they had an ulterior motive when the document required for KYC was passport specifically. Its quite unfortunate especially for those who were willing to give out their kyc documents for such a dubious project.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: (Yes or NO) The 2020s belong to DEXs on: September 16, 2020, 05:14:33 PM
Decentralized Exchange was doing well and attracting many users until the hike in gas fee stroke. My trades was cancelled in IDEX because the minimum trade has been increased to 0.5 eth, from 0.15 eth which was the case before the hike. I had to withdraw my tokens and started using centralised exchange because I can't cope with the new regulations.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Improvements Cryptocurrencies Should Make on: September 16, 2020, 05:11:09 PM
Crytocurrency would bring greater flexibility to transactions, coupled with the fact that inter boarder transactions would be timely and less expensive. The world is said to be a global village and the current regulations and bottlenecks that is embedded in the means of exchange makes the speed needed to transact discouraging, I believe that cryptocurrency would assist in setting this right.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DeFi] Some excellent topics on DeFi. on: September 16, 2020, 04:45:44 PM
There are several threads in the forum which have been very educative, but the challenge is that people invest in Defi and yield farming mostly out of greed. The issue with greed is that it blocks their ability to rational reasoning and all they consider is the reward promised which is too alluring for them to look away.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is It The Best Time to Sell Ethereum (ETH) on: September 16, 2020, 04:38:47 PM
If I was in your position to make the decision, I'll not sell at a 20% profit when ethereum feels like the next big thing. The ethereum 2.0 project is yet to be launched and we've seen a substantial movement in the value of ethereum. I can only imagine when we have the first phase of the project activated, you could have over 70% profit.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your HODL and favorite project on: September 15, 2020, 02:30:38 PM
I've decided to add tron to the list of my hodl tokens. Tron may become the next big project as the transaction cost are much cheaper as compared to ethereum. I had to convert my USDT from ERC20 to TRC20 Inorder to avoid the gas fee for ethereum and I found out that transfers in tron blockchain are almost free.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Classic was hit with another 51% attack on: September 15, 2020, 02:27:28 PM
Ethereum classic has always been having issues from time immemorial, the project has lost so much to hackers and bug and I'll be doomed to hold ethereum classic tokens. The token risk delisting and that may be effected if something is not done about the hash rate. I would advise holders to do the needful before they're dragged along with the project.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto after COVID-19 on: September 15, 2020, 02:21:17 PM
In my opinion, the pandemic had little impact on the cryptocurrency market. The value of cryptos have since been on the increase and the market has been faring well. There's a possibility that we could be having a bull run this year, which may be similar to that of 2017. I'm anticipating sharp increase in prices of cryptocurrencies.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what's your favourite coin and token ? on: September 14, 2020, 11:44:55 AM
Ethereum used to be my favourite coin, until recently when the gas fee became unbelievable. I had to stop trading on Decentralized Exchange because of gas issues and learnt how to transfer my ethereum out of exchange using other coin like XLM and trx whose transaction fees are much lesser. I've learnt how to be more economical this period and trading on centralised exchange is much better. My favourite coin for now is tron and XLM.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All Top 10 DeFi Tokens on coinmarketcap in Loss on: September 14, 2020, 11:35:02 AM
Despite the fact that the value of most Defi projects seems to be on the decline, its more an act of price correction than the project dieing. I've held some of those projects for several years and I can say that they're here for long term, especially the LEND token. It's unwise to be scared of market fluctuations when volatility is a feature of cryptocurrency.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are nodes? on: September 14, 2020, 11:28:32 AM
I've learnt something new about blockchain nodes. Nodes seems like the life wire that joins every system together, enabling the communications needed for the blockchain to strive to be established. I've heard of masternodes severally and I really didn't know that there are lesser versions which are the nodes. Is there any project that uses the nodes as against the masternodes?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it getting late to buy crypto again? on: September 14, 2020, 11:19:07 AM
The year has been full of surprises and one could expect that the present value of Bitcoin is still a good buy. I know bitcoin has the potential to grow much more and I anticipate higher growth in the near future. Since we can't give an accurate predictions, it could be wise to buy some with the intension of buying more, when the value drops.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it the best time to buy Kick? on: September 11, 2020, 09:09:53 AM
The value of kick isn't really worth much as we speak and the decision to buy now isn't a big deal. You can choose to buy any cryptocurrency whenever you want and purchasing them at a significant lower value is key to maximising your profit. I learnt that the total supply of kick is in trillions and that implies that the value won't increase much.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers, the biggest crypto problem on: September 11, 2020, 09:01:24 AM
There's no doubt that scammers have been a menace to the cryptocurrency community. Their impression as it relates to reputation is disastrous. Several cryptocurrency exchange have been hacked in recent times and binance is not left out. I read that Eterbase Exchange was hacked earlier this week. Its quite unfortunate that nothing much has been done to prevent the occurrence of those issues.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do You think about YFI ? on: September 11, 2020, 08:43:13 AM
YFI came to limelight after the value increased exceeding the value of Bitcoin. I learnt that YFI was listed at about 90$, but in a space of less than two months, the value rose to over $30k. The major reason for this level of increase is because of the low supply of the tokens. I learnt that the total supply of the tokens is 30,000 and there was no tokens sales. The early holders of the token earned it from providing liquidity for other yearn finance tokens.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another DeFi exit scam on: September 10, 2020, 05:29:41 PM
I've been reading several posts on this platform of different Defi projects that had exited the space with millions of dollars, but it amazes me that despite these issues we still have people investing sporadically on Defi projects without any research as to whether the project is valid or not. I know that with time people would get tired of loosing and the Defi trend would come to a halt, just like ICO's.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POS earnings on: September 10, 2020, 11:30:51 AM
Before now we had only the Proof of work algorithm, which is still utilized in several blockchain including bitcoin, until recently when the proof of stake algorithm became mainstream which has been the selling point for Defi projects. The proof of stake gives holders of the coin who stake or lock up an amount of the token rewards for the time the tokens are being locked. On the other hand, proof of work gives rewards to miners.
