1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 on: November 16, 2015, 02:16:25 PM
When will all the coins be mined? what happens after that?

The same thing that will happen with Bitcoin: miners' reward will be based on the fee. The rest will stay the same.

What is a good Windows 64bit miner to merge mine BCN with FCN?
Been using YAM in the past, but doesn't seem to support BCN+FCN.

This thread is hardly supported. You should ask someone here: https://bytecointalk.org

Hi,I am not able to send my BCN to poloniex ? BCN come back for wallet.

What version of the wallet are you running? Try the latest version 1.0.8 https://bytecoin.org/downloads/

But if you have the latest version already, then ask the devs support@bytecoin.org
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 on: August 26, 2015, 09:06:18 AM
Is this a scamcoin?
trusted exchange for this one? since I deposited some BNC to Hitbtc and wasnt credit to my balance. also a friend tried to deposit and got the same problem.
Deposits in Poloniex are disabled and the other exchange on this post dosnt have volume.

Thanks in advance!

HitBTC and Poloniex are both okay to manage BCN, you can use them.

Did you use Bytecoin Wallet to send your money to exchanges or did you only use the exchanges?

If you only used the exchanges, then you better write to their support.

If you used Bytecoin software, you can send an email to contact@bytecoin.org, or ask your questions on the bytecoin forum http://bytecointalk.org/

Hey guys,

New blog post regarding smart contracts from Bytecoin developers: https://bytecoin.org/blog/bytecoin-smart-contracts-solution/

Quote
In the previous post I wrote about general direction of business development in the 21st century, and touched the subject of tools it would require. I am going to elaborate on the case from that post and tell you how can production and delivery of the 'customized' flakes be organized.

Let us have a look at the principal scheme of custom flakes business based on smart contracts. In the simplest case there are three actors entering contractual relations.

32 bit wallet Huh??
exist or not?

There's no wallet for 32 bit version, but the devs say it will be developed in future.

@crazyhashmanz: link pls.

Submitted a ticket here's the reply

Unfortunately I was unable to find your transaction on the coin blockchain:

https://minergate.com/blockchain/bcn/blocks

If you sent this from another site please contact their help desk, if it was from a desktop wallet make sure it is fully updated.

Wallet is version 1.0.4, running win7-64bit. There's now 3 transactions just hanging in there. Can't retract them and can't flush them forward. They're not showing up on.

Pretty much done with this coin - good luck

Still no transaction ID? Can't you post it here?

I've noticed the following Bytecoin Wallet behavior:

1. Create an excessively large transaction (like 1,234,567.12345 with a high mixin). Trying to send it would result in error.

2. Reduce the tx size (e.g. by decreasing the transfer sum to 567.00). The transaction goes through.

As a result, you'll have not one tx in your latest tx list, but two, including the one that was not sent. I guess this is a purely Wallet wrong behavior, as such transactions are never broadcast to network.

The way to fix the tx list is simple: just reopen the wallet file.

I hope this is going to be fixed soon.

Sending just 5,000 hosed it up. I'm generous too offering .9 bytecoin payment to process.
Sending 500 at a time ? Really.....That's just a few cents at a time. Even Doge could handle more.

Here's a transaction ID:
8b3fc6ae4280b8ba08c35fb08c8f08fe0612520e5dbf0ea2454196c1a07afa57

I've opened and closed the wallet to no avail. It's been syncing this morning for over an hour (bottom right circle).

Like I've said....walking away from this coin and fortunately not out much. Ready to delete and say goodbye.

Hey, try to do the following:

1. Backup your wallet.

2. Delete wallet software, blockchain, and all other Bytecoin files (except your backed up wallet)

3. Download the GUI wallet once again.

4. Open GUI wallet and import your backed up wallet.

5. Synchronize with the network.

6. Your funds should return to normal.

Bytecoin team found a bug in OSX: https://bytecoin.org/blog/pthread-bug-osx/

Quote
The Bug

While developing Bytecoin Wallet for OS X we've faced a bug in pthread library condition variable implementation. This bug can't be called nothing else but pesky. Pthread is one of the cornerstones of multithread programming and used in almost every OS X application that uses multithreads, including gcc, clang, java and boost. Due to this bug - user can lose a vital piece of data that is placed in the memory. For instance, some applications are storing transaction amounts in the memory and in certain circumstances this bug can lead to the data corruption and therefore some info regarding the transaction amount is going to be lost.

Yeah, I've already read this interview too (thanks twitter, I can get the information really fast!).

I like the last part, where Ullo describes Bytecoin team's goals.

Quote
As for the long term, our ultimate goal is to help Bytecoin evolve into a very sophisticated financial system. We are already finalizing smart assets and aliases, which should be released later this year. The next huge step is going to be Bytecoin’s smart contracts that we are already working on.
We believe that cryptocurrency as a form of digital money is only a humble start for the Cryptonomy.

That's good news.

Hmmm... What do you mean?

Although there is less and less activity from forum members on this thread for past several weeks, the development seems to be happening consistently with newer features introduced at regular intervals.

Good going, devs. Keep it up.

Pebble is DPOS CryptoNote coin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=909624

Interesting, I wasn't aware that a DPoS CN coin existed.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=909624.msg11214633#msg11214633

I follow Pebble news from January they have some exciting ideas.

How many delegates are allowed?

I think it's better to clarify in the Pebble thread

New wallet is good for the future of BCN.

yeap, outright userfriendliness, haven't seen any analogue to such wallet. don't know if it plays well in the bytecoin future. But it is the fact that it is one of the most convenient

You can discuss Bytecoin Wallet on the Bytecoin forum! Join now! Cheesy

I also send a giveaway and I've just tried to send 5000 Bytecoin to 10 people. I thought I have to enter the amount once and than add the addresses but it turned out that I need to enter the amount for each address separately which is not really convenient. Will this feature added in future releases? Huh
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bytecoin Wallet (GUI) on: April 09, 2015, 07:35:15 PM
The design is out of this world! It looks great! Cheesy

What does "Locked amount" mean in the wallet? And why do strange amounts like this one pop up?

That's the funds that are not available for spending. It's either unconfirmed transactions, mined coins, or time-locked transfers. It may also contain the change: when you send money to a recipient, Bytecoin actually takes more than it requires for the transfer, makes the transaction, and returns spare coins back to you. So locked amount may temporarily increase after you've sent the money.

The funds are getting unlocked fast. Ordinary transactions require 2-5 minutes, while newly mined coins take about 20 minutes to get unlocked.

Thanks!  Smiley
