why ? because i keep my coins in my own wallets, usually backed up
why ? because no exchange is 100% 'bullet' proof...
next to be hacked are cryptsy, bittrex. and then bye bye altcoins industry ?
people need to keep their coins in own wallets. that is the whole point of decentralization.
besides if you keep your coins in your own wallet and send to exchange only when want to sell - there might be more value to your coins.
buy/mine... store... sell/use.

you might want to also check with FoldingCoin.. very interesting asset IMHO which is smart to use Counterparty, instead of creating another blockchain
Joel from Swarm created a document that compiled many of the answers he found in his search a few months ago. Even in that short a time, much has probably changed, but that document is probably still going to be of at least some value to you. Swarm has a thread here on BCT that may have a link to the Google document. If there is no link, just PM the OP of the Swarm thread and that will be Joel. He'll be able to send you a link. Joel may be able to provide additional insight as well, since Swarm is in the business of launching coins and such.
Ah, yes. I must confess, I had forgotten about Swarm (I don't know who Joel is, however). I had a busy summer and just couldn't follow everything (there are so many coins now!) I will look into that. As I seem to recall and just taking a quick glance at them again on that BTC thread, it is mostly a crowdfunding enterprise. The coin I have in mind is more of an asset-backed coin. That is why I thought of Ripple and NXT Assets and then was pointed in your (XCP) direction. Thank you very much for the suggestion and as I say, I will take a look. |

What does this have to do with you? Easy. You mine the coins and sell them to the noobs that are scared of crypto, but still want the best toys at the best prices. Or maybe you pick up something for that special someone, or something for you when you need a break from day (or night) trading and your partner is not interested. Or maybe you just day trade and make a lot of money... it's up to you!
Obviously our goal is to get ÆØÅ accepted for all kinds of purchases, but we want to get this one done properly before we branch out.
You can buy all kinds of things with crypto, but not a reasonably priced dildo? That's not the world I want to live in... and soon it won't be. It is our dream to have a sex toy in every home... get your ÆØÅ ready.

if i will not have a wallet and my coins will stay in bittrex, i will cry. its a fresh installation.. ~/.curecoin didn't exist before its failing to create the database for some reason i would expect a link which is easier to find maybe something in the front page... I could only find in github, i prefer text wallet which i compile but strange error when compiling and running wallet: ~/CurecoinSource/src$ ./curecoind -daemon=1

curecoin: Error initializing database environment /home/myusername/.curecoin! To recover, BACKUP THAT DIRECTORY, then remove everything from it except for wallet.dat.
Source code links are on the first page of this BTCTalk thread Do you have odd permissions on the .curecoin folder? Backup your wallet.dat (of course) to a safe location, and try deleting that folder. Alternately, you could try another datadirectory. A 280x, if protein folding with Core17/Core18, would probably get ~20 CURE/day how many curecoins a day should 280x get me ? |
