1  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Faucets Risks / Benefits in 2019! on: August 21, 2019, 02:50:39 PM
I do agree that faucets encourages people to get involved and learn about cryptocurrency, and the reward serves as an incentive. But in most cases as the attention on the cryptocurrency industry has massively increased, the risks far out weigh the rewards. If you do come across a good one, by all means get involved, but as OP stated, protect your device. And see it as a building block, there's a lot to them is industry, do not get stuck at one level.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does bitcoin need to be a currency? on: August 19, 2019, 04:32:28 AM
For Bitcoin to be accepted as a currency it has to go through strict regulations. Not many people what to entirely responsible to the safe keeping and management of their total assets as it is with cryptocurrency and wallets.
We would have cryptocurrency banks and what not.
I don't know whether this would be good or bad for the currency.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: August 19, 2019, 04:27:59 AM
Atletico are kind of the dark horse among the top three Spanish teams, they had an incredible summer transfer window, despite losing their best player to Barcelona, (and maybe having to over pay for one of their sign-ins.
Then again, it's just one game and the season is going to be a long protracted one.

5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: August 19, 2019, 03:21:05 AM
Btw, Leicester also showed a good performance last night. Both teams deserve a point.
Leicester were almost a different side in the second half after a calamitous first period. I do not think Chelsea needs to change much, lampard just needs to get them doing what they are doing better, much better. Goals win matches, and you need to score to win, sometimes more than one.
Attention mow shifts to Manchester United, they could go top with a convincing victory today, but Wolverhampton are not underdogs in the very least, another top test for them.
6  Economy / Gambling / Re: Nitrogen Voiding Valid Lines, Claiming Line Was "Obviously Bad" on: August 19, 2019, 03:14:55 AM
I've had bookies cancel an odd, when they realize that it was a bad bet (for them), but they didn't void the odd totally, those who picked it when it was available were still eligible to win. It is unprofessional and unethical for the line to be voided totally. I have not used their service as yet, but will definitely be steering clear if the issue is not resolved amicably. and
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why we should measure bitcoin in duration(time) rather fiat. on: August 18, 2019, 05:19:02 PM
As long as Bitcoin remains a speculative currency and it's value keeps fluctuating, it would have to be pegged to fiat, to determine what truly is the value of a bitcoin. It has not gotten mainstream enough to be a staple currency. Everyone still instinctively thinks, how much is this in USD (or their local currency) when they hold some amounts of Bitcoin.
It's a gradual process, but we're not quite there yet.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: August 18, 2019, 05:59:10 AM
I was thinking Barcelona will have an easy win.

The defeat was not expected, but San Memes is not a turf where you go expecting easy victories, Athlectic Bilbao are a brilliant side who can hurt any opponent if they get the chance. Batca played much below par.

Are there no great young players on Barca squad? Why not promote them instead of looking for players to buy?
Sometimes I wonder why these clubs have their young squad or school if they never use the players in the end.

There's Puig, Oriel, Alena who are promising young talents. But the board has not been as efficient in managing young talents as it did a decade ago. Xavi Simon's was lost to PSG recently and others as well. The team now wants to buy talent rather than build.
9  Economy / Gambling / Re: MintDice – Bitcoin Casino With Online Slots, Bitcoin Crash & Bitcoin Investment on: August 18, 2019, 05:50:30 AM

Yup the workaround to limit dice drop is a nice trick. Yesterday I tried to re-register my username and shortly after that your site was in maintenance mode. Hopefully not because of me.

I also experienced that, during my registration. So I'm guessing it had nothing to do with you. Did some browsing around and I'm drawn in already, I am new to actual personal gambling, so do not have much to compare it with, but I can say I'm impressed with the layout and features.
10  Other / Meta / Re: Should Signature Campaigns be moved to their own sub-boards? on: August 18, 2019, 05:46:18 AM
Is there a particular reason why admin is not very proactive here?

I wouldn't say the admins are not proactive, rather it is based in priority, lots of cases are in the pipe line needing to be fixed and yours could get added but it would have to wait for the queue to be cleared. Coupled with the day to day running of the forum I would say they got their hands full.
11  Other / Meta / Re: implementation of reporter badge? on: August 18, 2019, 05:33:32 AM
Theymos responded in that thread earlier on this year, but I think many people missed his post:

still waiting for it Cry

Sorry for the wait, when I went to implement this it ended up being quite a bit more of a can of worms than I originally thought because of opting out, preventing certain report-count-padding strategies, etc. It's still on my to-do list, but there are several things above it.

One thing is it would surely reduce surface spam of it does hit the ground. Lots of members would be engaged and cleaning out high priority and also low priority cases of spam. This would increase the workload on moderators but to other remembers it would be just fine. Would be interesting to see what theymos comes up with, should it get implemented regardless
Probably a priority meter where reporters choose how important their reports are before submitting based on an already generated suggestion.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: August 18, 2019, 05:12:49 AM
For anyone who was not already sure about the new rule that led to the Manchester City late strike getting ruled out:

Any goal scored or created with the use of the hand or arm will be disallowed this season even if it is accidental.

This lead to another bit of drama which is synonymous with VAR and which I'm guessing we would see a lot of hmthis season.
13  Economy / Speculation / Re: How will BAKKT affect future of bitcoin? on: August 17, 2019, 04:44:31 AM
as for Bakkt itself i think it is more hyped up than it really is. this is exactly like ETFs and Futures trading. both were super hyped up in 2017 when they initially began

Very true, any new Bitcoin improvement proposal out on the table attracts lots of hype, at times regardless of it's actual expected effect on the industry. This could be a FOMO attempt  to get more investors in.
My advice would be; buy bitcoin for Bitcoin and not some externally sourced project.
14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Good app to buy and sell on: August 17, 2019, 04:38:04 AM
You should select an app that suits your demands, and not just the preference of others. Look up all the suggested apps and choose based on you requirements on privacy, customer relations and and the actual functioning of the app.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: August 17, 2019, 04:31:18 AM
Manchester City just seems to have more hunger and drive than other premier league sides. And with such an attitude you more times than not would come out with the league title at the end of 38 games.
I predict this season will not be as close as the last, but this is football and anything can happen.
16  Other / Meta / Re: Suspicious thread - Possibly filled with sockpuppet accounts on: August 16, 2019, 11:31:59 AM
But personally, I do not understand how I could be on this list.

The list is of those who has commented on the thread, it's not a scan accusation. There appears to be extra incentive to fueling most of the discussions happening there. As LoyceV pointed out:

This does not mean they're all bad users.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 16, 2019, 11:25:12 AM
Do you really prefer Modric at 34yo than Pogba at 26yo?

Irrespective of his age, Modric has been on top of his game and in my opinion has performed better than Paul in almost every season before last, except maybe his final season with Juventus.
When you factor in his age, then Pogba would be a better choice, but Modric would go down as a far better player.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 16, 2019, 04:53:46 AM
On their list I can't see one better then him on his spot.

For one, Modric does hold the award for The Best men's player in the world. He may not have had a good season last time, but he surely has more quality overall that Paul Pogba.
Pogba is a good talent, but is high maintenance for any club. You cannot bank on his attitude and dedication.

I voted for Solskjaer to get the boot before Frank does if at all any of them is to get sacked. Lampard is more of a project manager at this point, and the Chelsea board has to recognize that and give him time if he can't get the resources just yet due to regulations.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The secret of gambling? on: August 16, 2019, 04:34:56 AM
Many gambling games are only mildly dependent on your abilities and mostly down to luck, so there's really no secret to winning more than you lose.
It may be a case of some being more lucky than others, and if you find yourself at a loss most times, it would be best to quit. Gambling is not meant for everyone.

It not so. Even bitcoin hurts, the only safe heaven is to be smart and observant
