It's been awhile since I've checked up on bitcoin. I saw that the price has risen greatly and I want to sell my coins. I have a good majority of my coins backed up in my old wallet.dat file.... but I am missing roughly 80 bitcoins.
I believe I purchased them and left them on the TradeHill.com website without transferring them to my wallet, but I cannot seem to connect- I guess it went down?
Is there any way to retrieve my coins? Am I out of luck?
Also, where is the best / safest / easiest place to sell the rest of my coins? mtgox.com?
Help! Thanks!

A little over a year ago I purchased $5000 worth of coins at about $15/btc as a short-term investment. I have watched it significantly rise and drop in that time. If I am not mistaken, the price per coin currently is about $31 or so.
Lately, I have not been as involved in the bitcoin community as I would like to be, so please forgive me if this is a stupid or repeat question:
Is this price real? Can I sell today and double my investment? Should I sell? Should I hold on and hope that it skyrockets? What is YOUR speculation? I am interested to hear.
Any thoughts or opinions would be more than appreciated!

Hello all,
I bought $5000 worth of bitcoin last year at about $15/coin. Now, as you know, it has completely dropped below that value.
Just like everyone else, I sort of secretly hoped bitcoin would rise to $100000000+ per coin or whatever. But now I see that will never happen.
Should I sell and take back what I can get or should I hold out of the long-term? I don't need the money anytime soon or anything but I don't want to lose it all.
Any help is welcomed & appreciated.

About 3 months ago I bought a bunch of BTCs when they were at $20 per coin. I have been monitoring the BTC price and it is now down to 6-7. I'm kinda getting worried here.
Why has the price dropped so much? In your opinion do you think it will swing back up?
Thanks in advance. jbgc

don't mine with an iMac... it's not worth it... you will regret later
Why? someone here did and broke the chipset I have a full 2 year warranty so I'm not scared at all. Besides, I am positive he is not the only person who has ever blown a chipset due to mining. Everyone else: Thanks for the help thus far, I will try the GUI version in a bit.

I just bought one from the link you provided! Love it and keep it up. I would definitely buy more if I had the option of paying with bitcoin.
Thanks!

I have an iMac with a 6750M, gives me ~110 Mhash/sec after I've overclocked it.
Is ~110 Mhash/sec considered good?

Thank you so much! That is exactly what I needed. My new iMac has the ATI Radeon 6970M Graphics card so I feel pretty confident Last Question: how do I join a mining pool?

July - $19 Aug - $32 Sep - $35 Oct - $40 Nov - $100 Dec - $100
July of 2012 - 500+ or 0. Depends on how well it picks up in the real world of business.

Anybody? I simply want to know how to set up a GPU pool miner for my new iMac.

Can I have a step by step process on how to do that? I have no clue where to start and I need some help.

Hello,
I just bought a brand new 27" iMac with a killer graphics card. I want to know how to set it up so that I can use the GPU to mine in a pool. I may need to be spoon fed but I really want to put my new machine to work. I am not a computer whiz by any means so go easy on me, but I do know a lot.
Thanks in advance.

Hey,
Whenever I click on the 'show new replies to your post' link at the top near my profile, It shows about 10 different posts that I have commented on but not actual posts that I created. I no longer wish to be included in these topics - is there any way I can make it not show up under the 'new replies to your posts' link?

Hey,
I have searched the forum and couldn't find anything so I thought I would ask. Please let me know if this has already been talked about.
I was wondering when tradehill.com or mtgox.com will be back online and in business? I really would like to buy some coins right now but all the good sites are down. Any ideas when i can start buying/selling BTCs again?

Would now be a good time to buy considering that the price has almost cut in half or will it go lower?

Hey Everyone,
I am not a bitcoin miner but I do support it and want to invest in hopes of making some extra $$$. I've been watching the bitcoin price rise and drop over the week and I am unsure when to buy. Before I do though, I have a few questions:
1. Where do you see the price of the BTC by 2013? (BTC/USD) 2. Is it stable enough now or could the bitcoin system easily crash and turn into nothing? 3. If you personally had $10,000+ to spare, would you invest it in bitcoins? 4. Is it going to reach $1000/btc eventually or is $15-20 (current price) pretty much the standard price now? 5. When would you buy? Now? In a week? Explain.
Any advice/help/opinion is welcome and thank you in advance!

Great, thanks Meni Rosenfeld for the help! I think I will stay away from bitcoin7.com and choose mtgox or Tradehill instead

In my opinion they are not fake but bad programmers.
So are you saying that it is safe to do business with this website or not? btw, I did use the search function.
