461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Surpasses Tesla, Ranks 11th Globally on: October 30, 2023, 04:06:40 AM
Tesla's market cap isn't based on anything rational but rather on easy access to fiat money which is created out of nothing. Facebook/Meta losing hundreds of billions in market cap last year after their disastrous metaverse flop shows how easily this paper value can disappear. Bitcoin is something which creates real lasting value in society so I expect it to eventually surpass the market capitalization of all these companies whose value is pumped through infinite money printing.
462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the most weird thing you bought with crypto? on: October 30, 2023, 03:20:39 AM
Back when Netflix used to offer free trials there was a guy on Reddit who would create an account for you and I used to pay him a few bucks in BTC each month for a new account. It was better than paying full price. Sadly, Netflix stopped offering these trials because too many people were abusing it to get free or discounted subscriptions.

An even weirder purchase was Chaturbate tokens when somebody I followed on social media signed up for an account and did a few cam shows.
463  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pacquaio vs Mayweather 2 rematch on: October 30, 2023, 03:06:07 AM
Until there is an official contract signed we can never be sure how much credibility there is to these rumors. For a long time we kept hearing that Pacquiao would fight Conor McGregor but that never happened. Then he was supposed to fight Crawford in the Middle East. Even Ryan Garcia thought he was going to fight Pacquiao. There is often contradicting statements coming from his team. Now we're hearing he wants to fight in the Olympics, fight Gervonta Davis, and have a rematch against Mayweather. These things can't all be true. The money that is being thrown around to make these big events that attract lots of attention is insane so I am certain there are some options he might be considering
464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 29, 2023, 12:38:26 AM
In any case, what is everyone's prediction on Tyson Fury vs. Usyk after witnessing Fury vs. Ngannou?

I honestly don't know how that fight would play out. Usyk isn't nearly as powerful as Ngannou. Fury can't look as sloppy as he was tonight. His confidence might have taken a hit and he might be more hesitant about trying to bully his opponent. Getting knocked down repeatedly throughout his career has got to be taking its toll and I don't know if the next time it happens he will still be able to get up. December is not that far away and Fury needs to get in better shape. There are many doubts but until he is beaten decisively I will still favor him to win. If he is still as fat as he is now and still partying one month from now then I will switch my prediction.
465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk - December or January in Saudi Arabia on: October 29, 2023, 12:04:19 AM
Francis Ngannou reached a milestone in this fight even though he lost by a split decision, many are surprised by Ngannou's performance he is much better than some of the veteran boxers Fury has fought in the past.
Ngannou can have a good boxing career if he chooses he has good ring generalship and he knows how to time his fight, Ngannou will have a lot of great success for any combat sport that he wants to get.
Scoring a knockdown and coming in very close against a lenial World Heavyweight champion is a huge achievement for him and he should be proud of it, I thought Ngannou won the fight when the first scorecard was announced and he was leading on it.

I was impressed by Ngannou. His skill level and stamina are above that of somebody like Deontay Wilder. I would also probably rank him above Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz currently. He is also massive in size and pure muscle. Originally, I thought Fury would be able to use his size to dominate but as it turns out promoters have been lying about his height and he is only slightly taller than Ngannou.

Ngannou should forget about MMA and focus on boxing instead. That's where the money is at and he is certainly capable of becoming champion. From what we saw tonight, I wouldn't count him out against Fury in a rematch or against Usyk. The division just got a lot more interesting and I am excited to see who can become the ultimate king amongst these fighters.
466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 28, 2023, 11:42:32 PM
That was one of the most amazing spectacles I have witnessed. I think even the most die hard Ngannou supporters underestimated his potential. I thought the split decision was sensible due to Fury winning most of the quiet rounds but I wouldn't have argued against a draw or Ngannou win. Overall Ngannou landed the most impressive punches but they were concentrated to a small handful of rounds.

I certainly hope there is a rematch because Ngannou still has a lot of room for improvement. Either Fury is really starting to decline, or he didn't take this match seriously enough, or was just scared of Ngannou's power. He didn't look his best. If he is better prepared in a rematch it will be a really explosive fight but if he takes it lightly again his vulnerabilities, which were exposed again tonight, will lead to him getting knocked out cold.
467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk predicts X will replace banks in 2024 - The Verge on: October 28, 2023, 06:40:01 AM
Doing all my banking on a social media app would feel really awkward. You'll be able to shitpost about Trump while taking out a loan so you can invest in Dogecoin all at the same time but why would anybody want that though? How many people would be comfortable giving all their personal info and financial data to this website, which has been a complete trainwreck since Elon Musk's takeover.
468  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Samourai Wallet is accessing to the Clipboard without permission on: October 28, 2023, 06:04:17 AM
also asking to point in what file of the source code is this action done.
We can say with certainty that the Samourai Wallet software you are using on your phone is closed source considering how their repository has not been updated for ~3 years despite them releasing a lot of newer versions (last release on appstore is on Oct 6, 2023).

They stopped using Github several years ago. I believe it was after they were acquired by Microsoft and they started censoring controversial projects and restricting users from sanctioned countries. Their code can be found on their self-hosted GitLab repository https://code.samourai.io/explore/groups

I haven't reviewed their code but I assume they are accessing the clipboard as soon as the app is launched so users can quickly paste addresses and BTC amounts.
469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fake casino streamers! Why such streamers are very popular? on: October 28, 2023, 05:29:21 AM
I've always assumed that most casino streamers were playing with sponsored money. If somebody loses thousands of dollars in a day and comes back to gamble again the next day as if nothing happened wouldn't that seem odd? We see it with crypto youtubers also. They will put on an exaggerated performance to sell you all kinds of products and after a dozen or so rugpulls they still act like the thing they're shilling for is the greatest thing ever. Anytime there is a sponsorship involved with streamers it is very likely you are going to see a curated experience designed to attract new users to a product and not a genuine representation of what an average user might typically see.
470  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: October 26, 2023, 09:02:24 PM
I didn't think it could drop this much... and these days I'm wondering if it will drop to 1 sat? Is that even possible? Smiley

13 sats which is its current price is the lowest it has ever been. For the benefits you get as a premium member that is an attractive price for acquiring tokens. Due to the exchange spread, however, users might not be willing to invest in the token. Converting from BTC to FUN and then back to BTC will cost you around 15% of your BTC at current prices. The lower the price goes the more value you lose when exchanging directly on freebitco.in.
471  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto News Site Created Recently on: October 26, 2023, 07:51:53 PM
Can you access this news site even if it's not responsive?
I want to try to know the contents of the site but it can't be accessed, is there an error made or is it under repair?
I don't know if the OP when he came here was ready or trying to figure out the problem?

I could access the site just fine when I remove the "www" from the URL. This is what I see.

I like the clean and uncluttered look although I imagine advertising banners will be added in later and that might change the appearance somewhat. The one thing that was really annoying is that with endless scrolling it takes a while to load more stories when you scroll to the bottom of the page. This can probably be fixed so they load instantly but it's the only issue I have with the site.
472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question for those who loose too frequently in gambling on: October 26, 2023, 07:21:46 PM
I have often wondered about the people who have lost a lot in gambling and who almost loose in every gambling activity they participate. What is their reason or motivation to continue even after so many losses?

In any luck based game you will almost always end up losing due to the house edge. Even after losing people might continue gambling due to the thrill that comes with the possibility of making an enormous amount of money in a short amount of time. Some people just want to earn their losses back and that can lead to bigger losses so you must be careful not to lose control or you will end up spiraling downward.

Whenever I've lost big I will just stop gambling for a while and gradually ease back into it later with some smaller wagers.
473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will it affect your life if bitcoin price comes to $1 million per bitcoin? on: October 26, 2023, 04:16:14 AM
I do not hold enough Bitcoin for it to become life changing if it were to reach $1 million. Maybe I will be able to afford a few things I've been saving up for but it wouldn't be enough to live off of for more than a few months unless I moved to a country with a significantly lower cost of living. There is still plenty of time before it reaches that price so I will be busy accumulating in the meantime. If I do reach that goal of having more than 1 BTC and became a millionaire I would cash out some of it to help my family and also make some investments that will provide additional sources of income.
474  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: October 26, 2023, 01:46:12 AM
When I woke up to the beginning of this week I saw the price moving I immediately remembered the best October ever we had just 2 years ago when we had the maximum so far all time high price for the Bitcoin.I started dreaming a bit that maybe the next bull run is much earlier than end of 2025 but I think I should get back on earth as most likely the price will continue to drop now as there is no real event that Bitcoin price to reach a new all time high so fast,so most probably it will be in this range, just above 30k I think it will stabilize there.

The halving and a potential ETF approval are major events which could have a significant impact on Bitcoin's price. It might seem unlikely to reach a new all time high so fast but we've seen in the past that Bitcoin has gone from under $1,000 to almost $20,000 in a single year. While we may not see a 20x increase in this bull run, surpassing the previous all time high is not out of the question.
475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: October 25, 2023, 12:39:30 AM
Before you even begin to gamble it is important to read the terms of service at the casino you wish to play at. There are many cases of casinos suddenly asking for KYC or deciding to restrict users from certain countries even though they were previously able to access the site and play normally. Multi-accounting can also be prohibited due to people abusing bonuses. It is always necessary to be aware of their terms so you don't end up losing funds by inadvertently violating one of their rules.
476  Other / Archival / Re: Sinbad.io Mixer - secure, fast and easy to use on: October 25, 2023, 12:18:36 AM
For example, in case you have an amount of 0.0009BTC in two different wallets, the best(only) option is to first consolidate and combine them into one wallet and after that send as much as you want to the mixer.
Correct me if I am wrong, if I have UTXOs of 0.0009 BTC in and 0.0005 BTC in an address and then decided to mix them. This should be fine, the output will be more than the minimum with some change if I am to spend exactly 0.001 BTC in the mixer's deposit address. There's no need to first consolidate.

Consolidating beforehand is not necessary but if the UTXOs are in different wallets they will need to move them to the same wallet first so they can deposit in a single transaction. Depositing them in separate transactions would probably not be valid because then people could just spam many small deposits that add up to 0.001 BTC and burden them with high fees.
477  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I think gambling is inbuilt, kids don't learn it anywhere, they do it! on: October 24, 2023, 11:12:23 PM
Gambling goes back thousands of years. It is something that has become ingrained in many cultures. Passing laws to restrict it is not really going to change human behavior. Kids see gambling as a way to have fun and make some money. Even though they might be limited in legal gambling options they will still make bets amongst their friends. Online casinos might not have the ability to verify their customers' ages with full certainty so it is incumbent on their parents and guardians to monitor their activity and teach them responsibility.
478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Centralised exchange getting better than Decentralised exchange? on: October 24, 2023, 06:50:41 AM
DEXs can't match the convenience and low fees of centralized exchanges. Their appeal is in being open to anyone and having better liquidity for obscure and newly launched tokens. Not having to worry about KYC and getting arbitrarily blacklisted is a huge benefit.

Previously, Uniswap had delisted certain tokens from their website for compliance reasons. Although you could still access them through other means it set a bad precedent. Now we are hearing about KYC only liquidity pools which is an even worse idea. If DeFi becomes permissioned, on top of all the other drawbacks like high fees and scams being rampant, then it becomes a worse alternative to the traditional services it was intended to replace.
479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thurman Vs Stanionis WBA world welterweight December 9 on: October 24, 2023, 05:53:36 AM
Even tho Thurman did not compete for a while i think he is still the favourite going into it. His record is pretty good and his last performance (tho long time ago beginning of 2022) was good. I would not could Stanionis out tho, and i think he might actually be my pick for this fight. He is young and active with a good record aswell.

Both of them didn't compete for a while. They're both inactive for almost the same period. Thurman's 1 year and 8 month's inactivity isn't much different from Stanionis' 1 year and 6 months.

Before the Barrios fight, Thurman was also inactive for over two years. He wasn't just inactive, he was practically retired. I still have questions about whether he is still committed to the sport or just looking for a payday.

The main event is going to be action-packed and so are the supporting events two former champions battling it out in the middleweight division

Danny Garcia 37-3-0 against Erislandy Lara 29-3-3

This is a hard fight to predict. Lara has only fought tomato cans in recent years and is only considered a world champion because Golovkin vacated his title and as a secondary champion he got elevated. Danny Garcia has never fought at middleweight and he struggled against a diminished Jose Benavidez Jr. in his last fight. I'm starting to lean towards it being a draw.
480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 23, 2023, 03:57:32 AM
I am now excited for this fight and for sure the next weekend for sure is the start of this fight,

Fury vs. Ngannou: Battle of the Baddest

They are really going all out in promoting this event. Just a few days ago the organizers of the event released a promo video with cameos from celebrities like Cristiano Ronaldo. They are also giving away $100,000 to whoever can predict the outcome. The Saudis want to show they are capable of hosting high profile events and portray their country in a positive light — this event is their way of achieving this goal.

As for Catterall, Teo Lopez could be a good fight for him next, for a title fight in the US.

There's a strong possibility Teofimo might fight Ryan Garcia. Arum and de la Hoya have already had a meeting to discuss it. Josh Taylor doesn't have many options at welterweight so he might end up facing Catterall at a catchweight while he waits for a PBC fighter to cross over to his side of the street.
