2  Other / Meta / Re: calling all sauces... on: November 12, 2019, 03:52:49 PM
This is a step in the right direction, the possible outcome of this is to encourage more good posters to contribute more to the forum.
Leaving the work load for merit sources or some high ranking members is completely not good.
3  Other / Beginners & Help / Your post defines you on: November 09, 2019, 01:57:09 PM
Construction of a solid post poses as a strain to people. And barriers like language, computer adaptation adds to this problem.
Bad and jaw dropping low quality post is not incurable even to the chronic bad posters. Am still on the developing stage so I can say I also have an effort to put in.
Why do people make bad post
A.  no idea but still want to make a post: some people lack idea or have little idea of what the want to write on and would not take the time to build the idea and make it logical for the community when posted not withstanding they go on to make the post.

B. They are in a rush:people can be in a rush to get there post count, want to be part of the first people to drop a reply to a post, no matter the reason for your rush it makes you to go on and deliver an half done post

C.  To bump a thread: bumping a thread is not against the rule but it has procedure, projects can hire some hoodlums to come on the forum using multiple account to spam and bump there thread

Making nice post is all about your desire to do so, don't wait till you become an expert but the small values and culture you can put into your daily post and your quality post would define you
4  Other / Meta / Re: Funny since the Cryptotalk campaign came. on: October 13, 2019, 03:20:25 PM

only one campaign for sig this month, another, the old sig campaign.
Your rank means that you have been on the forum for w good time so should this surprise you that we are just 13days into the month and only one new signature campaign so far, don't forget wolfbet reopened on 30sept
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5186462.0
that fact that no new signature campaign on service has nothing to do with yobit. Bounty organiser are not deterred by which campaign is on going, if you have the fund for a campaign then you can run one
5  Other / Meta / Re: Funny since the Cryptotalk campaign came. on: October 13, 2019, 02:58:40 PM
Yobit can not be blamed for the low turn out of signature campaign it is just a coincidence that campaign are not coming out.
Also the 20post a day maximum can result to spamming and to add to that the simplicity to join the campaign with out proper screening of participants can make matter worse.
About altcoin it's not recently that high Ranking members started to see that altcoins campaign is turning out to be time wasting at times, and the newbies that are there some with multiple account on the same bounty are of the option of other campaigns like social media, article Etc. Still yobit is not to be blamed for that.
Also the manager that is handling the yobit campaign thread has compiled list of those wrong doers

6  Other / Meta / Re: How much Old Post Can I Report to Moderator? on: October 12, 2019, 03:08:28 PM
I've just read a thread that was last replied on April 2019. I believe that need to be Moderated but it's almost dead. is it good to report such dead threads or simply ignore them?

Is it plagiarism? Is it spamming? Is it just completely out of place then you can report it.  A post that has stayed of for a very long time for example years and you find it worthy of getting reported to the moderator there is a chance it might have been reported before but mods did not consider it as spamming
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling habits that will cost you on: August 13, 2019, 01:56:06 PM
A golden rule is moderation. Learn to moderate how, when and the wager with which you gamble. No when to take your profits and also when yo cut of your loss.
Addiction has cost a lot of gamblers lots of money.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BitKrabs - Learn from this case, and be extremely careful with artist scammers on: August 13, 2019, 01:35:14 PM
Be careful, extremely careful before you give your money to other hands!

It's best not to give your money to other hands at all. Always keep your assets in a wallet to which you alone has access to the private keys.
If you plan on sending money, always take a commensurate collateral before doing so. It's safer to use an escrow.
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the best wallet for crypto noobies? on: August 13, 2019, 10:03:57 AM
All cryptocurrency enthusiasts look for almost the same thing in a wallet, security and accessibility. Transaction fees are sometimes negligible and not everyone pays attention to it.
I use electrum to hold bitcoins and imtoken for ethereum and ERC-20 tokens.
You can go with that, or choose one that suits your strategy better.

I wanted to try where you buy at low price and resell at higher value.

Everyone wants to do this. It's not as easy to do. The safest path would be hodling, and your safest bet would be bitcoins. You could also sell at a higher value and buy later when it drops. There are many trading strategies and you'd need to learn about them, it's good you are into stocks that will help you get settled in quickly into cryptocurrency trading
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [GUIDE] Overview of the trust flags on: June 21, 2019, 09:23:26 PM
I have been reading through posts while I have been offline about the trust flag and had thought I fully understood the trust flags. theymos made it very simple on the initial thread. This post however draws my attention to some points on the new system.
It's great that logged out users and guests also get to view the flags on accounta

Trust and DT is the current 'talk of the forum', merit discussion has cooled notably, except for a few now and again.
There has been an increase in number of merits available to sources and ith this hopefully an increase in merit distribution

And there is still the occasional FUD associated with bitcoin as the price is still at a low value.
I regularly catch up with the [urlhttps://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178336.448820]Wall Observer Thread[/url] for speculations and analysis.
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Caution!!! Do not buy accounts!!! on: January 13, 2019, 07:40:18 PM
There are other alternatives to getting acknowledgement here on the forum and achieving a higher rank without having to buy that position.
I am against the idea of one with knowledge below a certain rank holding an account at that rank, sort of pike a legendary member who doesn't know much about the forum or cryptocurrency.

The process of growing an account legitimately exposes one to knowledge and is worth experiencing.
As has been mentioned, it is heavily frowned upon and could get both involved in the transaction tagged
14  Other / Meta / Re: Plagiarism as a result of cultural differences on: January 13, 2019, 07:33:32 PM
I think that people who copy/paste and plagiarise the works of others can be divided in 3 groups:

1.
2.
3.

No 4 should be those who copy and spin texts, making it very difficult, almost impossible to track down using a pliagarism checker.
This group puts in lots of effort, which could be directed I making a half decent post, to steal and customize contents of others.
15  Economy / Reputation / Re: S_Therapist = mdayonliner on: January 13, 2019, 03:01:30 PM
That sound the same, isn't it? I did not notice that but I hope I was able to prove the point? I was inspired by D and S_th.. was inspired by me (I guess)...

'Inspired' does not mean the user would adopt your posting style and use of grammar.
I am not pointing hands or accusing anyone, but evidence was presented, and it has to be proven wrong in ordee for you to clear your name

If he didn't tell you about his account, did you tell him about yours?
16  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Using our web presence to help people on: January 13, 2019, 02:53:37 PM
I sometimes use my influence (no matter how little) on some social media platforms to publicize the works and abilities of others to potential clients.
Unfortunately, I am not as web savvy as I wish I was right now, but am growing major interest, and also on the look out for learning opportunities which are affordable.
17  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Pablo Escobar’s Estate Launches Cryptocurrency to Impeach President Trump on: January 13, 2019, 02:50:51 PM
This could be an attempt to get publicity and attention.
Reading thorough the article I could not understand the relationship or why investors wood be willing to put capital into this. And targeting a particular nation limits the exposure as citizens of other nations would not be interested.
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price: Analyst Willy Woo Says Bears Still Have the Upper Hand on: January 07, 2019, 08:42:40 AM
The market has shown more of organic and sustainable growth over the last days, although slow, it's more preferred to sudden jumps followed by sharp falls.
There are supposed levels that have to be broken through inorder to truly launch a price surge.
$4300 would be a good break out level.

Anyone has any suggestions on the ethereum fork and if indeed it affects other currencies?
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: From IPO/ICO to STO on: January 07, 2019, 08:33:47 AM
Regulatory barriers differentiates them.
Utility tokens are not considered 'investments' and holders of such tokens/coins do not hold shares in the company or establishment, but can use their tokena for the utility the projects offers on its platform. Lots of projects without platforms and no utility were crowdfunding through ICOs. This created lots of distrust in the industry.

The advent of STOs would make crowd funding more seamless and would clearly define; investors and contributors. And would be in conformity will laws and regulations.
20  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Nigeria’s presidential Candidate Promises Cryptocurrency Regulation if elected on: January 07, 2019, 08:26:25 AM
This is a progressive suggestion ans shows intent to embrace the digital technology.
The blockchain industry is ripe for implementation and utility. And it has made significant progress into Nigeria amd other developing nations.

Corrupt officials would be averse to it's implementation as it's transparent and data saved can not be manipulated. This is where the exposure of the populace is necessary, and their leverage on democracy.
