201  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! Cognitive Resurrected on[Havelock] on: December 01, 2013, 07:06:25 AM
Correct. Usually Cognitive can solo mine consistently enough to make sizable payouts, but it was an unlucky few weeks and I have changed the pool strategy accordingly.
202  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! Cognitive Resurrected on[Havelock] on: December 01, 2013, 06:58:14 AM
Garr can you address these calculations?

Sure thing.

The calculations being used here can only estimate the output of a given mining rig + pool combination. It turns out that our pool has had a bad luck streak for a good while and we have since switched to mineb.tc which is proving to be a bit more reliable, with more consistent payouts. We should see output much closer to these calculations with the coming dividends.

Cheers,
Garrett

is it possible to use cointerra rigs to mine other sha-256 altcoins?

i'm guessing we would have considerable % of total hashing power if we did?

Yes it is, I have done this with FPGAs before Smiley
204  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! Cognitive Resurrected on[Havelock] on: November 29, 2013, 11:06:50 PM
You'd probably want to look at http://middlecoin.com/ then. It mines the most profitable scrypt coin and gives you BTC.

This.

Also what are we paying for electricity where the miners are stored?

Will do. I visited someone today who wants to make a fluid-submersed alt-coin miner, and it looks quite awesome. He did it with ASICminer blades and it works really well. Expect to see a motion tomorrow morning!

Cheers,
Garrett

PS. $0.08/kwh for electricity

Agree, let's get more hardware.
I also agree. Any ideas on who we might want to order from? I think a great choice right now would be to set up some LTC rigs actually.

The Bitcoin mining is too competitive. It would be a smart move to invest in Litecoin mining :
- low competition
- instant delivery of the hardware
- faster growing than Bitcoin

+1

I will raise a motion to spend our reserve coins on LTC rigs. The website is fully up-to-date, so you can see our current reserves there.

Cheers,
Garrett

I am also interested in our current BTC reserves.  With the current price of BTC we should be able to buy some more mining gear.

That's just the difficulty increasing so much and us not receiving any new hardware, because our 28TH won't be here until January, at which point we will be seeing quite massive dividends, relative to these.
208  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! Cognitive Resurrected on[Havelock] on: November 28, 2013, 08:31:00 PM
฿0.00050147 per share ?

seriously that's 2 months of compounded dividends Huh Or is there more to come?

Because difficulty has increased drastically, and our 28 TH has not arrived yet, this is the correct amount. A financials report will come quarterly starting December 2nd, and the second one being released on January 1st.

Cheers.
209  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! Cognitive Resurrected on[Havelock] on: November 28, 2013, 07:38:34 PM
Are we really paying 1BTC a month to be listed on havelock?

Definitely not! I modified the contract before signing it. We will pay a maximal $500USD worth of btc every month for being listed there. And there is a 0btc fee to delist instead of a 10btc fee, which was super outrageous.

Dividends will go out today, because yes I agree we are close enough and waiting longer will not benefit anyone.

Cheers,
Garrett

I'm on my way home from Vancouver right now, and while this isn't entirely related to Cognitive, I wanted to say that there is a fantastic bitcoin community in Vancouver, and if you just hang out at the Waves with the ATM on Smithe and Howe downtown, you'll be sure to meet a bunch of like-minded people who are totally into bitcoin!

211  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-11-11 Is Vancouver’s Bitcoin ATM at-risk of an attack? on: November 24, 2013, 09:04:13 AM
Does anyone want to go to the coffee shop with the ATM tomorrow? I'm staying at the Hyatt which is three blocks away from it, so that's where I'll be in the morning!

What happens to the unclaimed shares? Are those considered "dead until further notice" or something?

I will be open to accepting claims for at least another few months, at which point the shareholders will make a decision on what to do with the shares.

If you have not seen the shares in your havelock account yet please send and email to garrett [at ] cognitivemining [dot ] com ,and CC it to: funds [at ] havelockinvestments [dot ] com ,and you will receive a response on the same business day.

Best,
Garrett

Any update on our dividends?  We have 8900 shares claimed now.  What is the magic number to send out almost 2 months of dividends now?
Peace

When 90% of shares have been claimed, dividends will go out. We are almost there!

COG.F and COG.F2 will be delayed an additional few days, but they will come early on next week.

When dividends go out, I will push an updated financials sheet to Havelock and update the main website. We are on schedule for January delivery of 28th still, and in the process of outfitting housing for this hashpower.

Cheers,
Garrett

What should I do in case of having Havelock account but registered at other mail address than used at BTCTC?

Garrett did not respond to my emails for over a week, so I have to ask here.

Please email me using the email associated with my bitcointalk account, I usually answer that within a few hours.

I'll be in Paris on Friday, would any bitcoiners like to meet up and possibly sell me some Bitcoins? I'm arriving early Friday morning!

Cheers,
Garrett

Tafelpoot, I am working on updating the web site today; you can expect periodic updates being pushed to it throughout the week until it meets our satisfaction.

I talked to a guy a few days ago who is creating a sCrypt bitstream for the x6500s which will be finished in a few weeks. It may or may not be more profitable than mining btc on them, but keep your eyes open for that Cheesy

Still waiting for my shares - I signed up for Havelock on Friday.

I am also missing my shares on Havelock and I signed up Friday as well.

As I said in a previous post, Havelock does not work weekends, so please allow them a full business day to push shares to your account.

when will the cog f1 and f2 be online??i did not get my shares right now

COG.F and COG.F2 are not listed yet, and will be online later this week.

Cheers,
Garrett

Hi Garrett,
I see that the PT has been resurrected on litecoininvest (cool). I had a share or two on litecoinglobal. Do I need to do anything to ensure that it is transferred to litecoininvest or will it be automatic? My username is the same (odie158).
Thanks
Odie 158

Hi,

I sent an email describing the process to claim your shares on LitecoinInvest. If you did not receive this, please message me your details and we can figure it out.

Cheers,
Garrett
