Tillkoeln is the owner of Unnamed Exchange and has posted on Twitter (
https://twitter.com/TillKoeln/status/1329469594340380672) and on bitcointalk (
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5285740.0) / (
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5264816.0) harrasing messages about ShroudX. Since these messages attack us I felt the need to repond.
The story began:Once there was a cryptocurrency named Shroud Protocol. Shroud Protocol was forked from IndexChain in July 2020 by the original developer getdzypher. Shroud Protocol is listed on Unnamed Exchange. For unknown reasons the dev disappeared in September 2020 removing the content from the website, removing the discord server and does not respond to any communication ever since. Shroud Protocol was abandoned. Shroud Protocol had a premine of 5 million coins and just a little bit has been spent. In my opinion Shroud Protocol was developed very well and I wanted to take over the coin. I tried contacting the developer but there was no response.
Ok, so what did you do?Since I do not have access to the github of Shroud Protocol I had to fork Shroud Protocol to my own github. I changed the code a bit, removing the old seed nodes, added new seed nodes and released a wallet update with the new seed nodes. The network was saved, hurray! A new discord channel was created and posted in the original bitcointalk ann.
Ok nothing special so far, what happend? The new seed nodes did their job and I was the new developer of Shroud Protocol. As a developer I could now focus on the code. I made a few changes:
- Added new seed nodes
- Blacklisted the original developers wallet addresses to be activated immediatly (4,724,447 coins are now blacklisted and can't be spend anymore)
- Changed the masternode collateral from 10k to 50k to be activated on block 168100 (december 1st 2020)
- Increased the protocol version
- Altered the code to disconnect old non updated wallets from the network on block 168100 (december 1st 2020)
After the release was pushed I created a new website and started contacting as much partys as I could to update the information of the coin. All partys updated their data so no worries there. We also contacted Tillkoeln from Unnamed Exchange and we asked to update their Shroud wallet to the latest version. He asked me to proof the ownership of Shroud Protocol which I coudn't because the developer left and I have no access to any of the original sources. He refused to update the wallet because he told me the original developer had payd for the listing and we can't prove ownership. Ok, fair enough so I listed the coin on another exchange and informed the community to remove the funds from Unnamed Exchange and move them to our new exchange.
So far so good but ...Then these messages were posted in twitter and bitcointalk harrassing ShroudX.

We have a complete different github: Thats true but explained in the story above, we have no access to the original but abandoned Github account.
-
Our source is completly different: Actually it's not. Feel free to compare both versions. Same codebase, I made some small changes as improvement but nothing serious enough to call it completely different.
-
We don't own the original code, accounts or settings: Thats true but it is impossible to get as explained in the story above. Thats the reason we blacklisted the premine. This prevents the original developer to get access to his funds in case he returns after some time.
-
This is a forked chain from Shroud Protocol: It's not. I saved the chain by adding new seed nodes and continued development. Same chain still accepting the wallets and funds from the original developer. Only the premine is blacklisted. Yes we are disconnecting older wallet versions on december 1st 2020 but that is just called development. Sometimes it's needed to disconnect old nodes to be ensure something thats new can get activate accordingly. In our case the new masternode collateral.
-
I made a request to swap balances: I never did such a thing and theres no need. As mentioned there will be no problem to connect with any kind of wallet and check on your balance. It works. When you install the latest wallet release after december 1st your balance will show.
-
We have a forked chain: We do not have a forked chain. See above comments and story. We are planning a fork on december 1st because we want to activate changes on the network that are not compatible with old node versions. We informed Unnamed well in advance but they choose not to update.
-
It's a different coin: It's still the same coin, just tweaked the name a bit.
-
When we uploaded the wallet to our github we had a new coin: No we have not. Everything works the same as in september when the developer left. The wallet on Unnamed Exchange is working even do it's not an updated version. We gave people over a month of time to update and even if you have an old wallet after this month and you upgrade you will still see the balance you had on december 1st.
I never expected such a
unproffessional attitude from the owner of a so called
professional exchange but sadly it happend and it probably will happen again. There was absolutly no problem when he told me the wallet was not going to be updated on Unnamed Exchange because of the reasons he mentioned. I did not pay for the listing on Unnamed Exchange and the choice was at Tillkoeln to update or not. When he didn't we got listed somewhere else.
What I can't understand is that TillKoeln is posting private conversations on the internet and calling someone a fraud without any valid reason to do so. Why is he harrasing people who try their best to create a great project with full transparency. He should be working on his own project since cryptocurrency businesses need to hold a Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin)-issued license if I'm not mistaken.
I'm a real life person with a real life professional job in IT trying to create and maintain a nice project for our community together with the ShroudX Team in my spare time. I did not in any way hurt Tillkoeln or Unnamed Exchange nor are my intentions to do so. I'm trying to be open and transparent as much as possible and I'm not hiding my identity. I have put a lot of time and effort into this project allready and I plan to keep doing that to improve!
So my request is to stop joking around trying to keep people on a chain that has no future.
If anyone has questions about me or the ShroudX project or thinks something is not right please feel free to contact me on Discord.
