I didn't understand the price movement while staking with VEIL. I asked my questions on the telegram admin but he didn't even respond back to my messages after reading it.  Can someone explain the details, please?

As admins, we're not supposed to talk about price. We don't know the factors for sure, but one that probably has contributed to price decrease was the Zerocoin vulnerability that was discovered, and we had to prevent from being used by temporarily disabling Zerocoin protocol. The vulnerability HAS NOT been used in Veil. Also, we plan to re-enable Zerocoin so that Zerocoin privacy goes live again, and we plan to implement some new privacy protocols and migrate away from Zerocoin to a more scalable private transaction system.

I don't know what was the actual problem for My wallet from the past 2 days it is saying "Unknown. Syncing Headers". In order to solve this what was the procedure, i need to follow for the blocks to be matured again?

I suggest restarting the wallet and see if it can get past that stage. Also, were you able to sync up properly in the past? The blockchain data is currently 11GB+ so will take a while to download. Using a snapshot will greatly speed up the process.

Mobile wallet is planned and will eventually be released, but it is correct that other development tasks are being prioritized. Right now, our devs are focusing on implementing a solution to a major Zerocoin vulnerability and re-enabling Zerocoin protocol privacy, and developing the new privacy protocol that will replace Zerocoin in the future.

ERROR: GenerateAccumulatorWitness : Less than 1 mints added, unable to create spend
PrecomputeSpends: Generate witness failed!
in debug file,is that normal?

That should be fine. You can check if precomputing is working by entering this into console and seeing if your Zerocoin denominations are at 90%+ precomputed:
showspendcaching

You can also confirm staking is working correctly by typing in getwalletinfo and checking for staking active true line:
getwalletinfo

Announcing the architecture of the future Veil privacy protocol

Veil's new privacy protocol will be based on the Zerocash protocol and Sonic proofs, an improvement to zk-SNARKs with superior scalability.

For the interim, a Zerocoin vulnerability fix has also been found and will soon be implemented.

Hi all, can someone tell me about how much needed to get 1 stakes from staking veil? I have been visiting various sites and i don't even get the best answer and is there a staking calculator? I will really appreciate it.
I heard about 13k is needed to get one stake but i still doubt about that.

You currently need about 15k coins to earn one staking reward a day (worth 50 coins) on average. The amount you need for one reward per day on average will increase as the coin supply increases.

I agree. Bounty distribution is ongoing and that certainly must have put some downward pressure on the price of Veil lately. I would expect that to reverse itself once the distribution is finished. Now would be a good time to buy though.

Bounty has been quite effective based upon analytics, but the recent Zerocoin vulnerability news did have an impact on price. The bounty funds are being released gradually to minimize the impact it can have on price, and we limit how much a bounty hunter can earn to between ~500-1,000 Veil per bounty hunter a month.

The team's priority is finding the best privacy protocol replacement for Zerocoin, and although it will take months of additional development time, I believe moving away from Zerocoin to a new protocol will be for the project's long-term benefit even if the specific Zerocoin vulnerability did not exist.

Will dandelion will be the new the algorithm that the Veil will work on? Or it's an entirely a different thing?

Dandelion protocol provides IP anonymity and works in conjunction with a blockchain-level privacy protocol. Dandelion for Veil has been coded and is in testing phase.

So how much of a problem this zerocoin vulnerability is for Veil. If it fixable? Can anyone tech-savvy enough come forward to explain it please?

The vulnerability is not possible to exploit in Veil anymore since we deanonymized Zerocoin as a short-term solution, but our devs are working towards finding and implementing a permanent solution, and that is definitely possible.

Hey everyone.

The team has been fully aware of the Zerocoin vulnerability and our devs are working towards a solution.

Please be patient until we can provide more information in an official announcement.

We are continuously monitoring for any signs of the attack and there has been none on our network. All users' funds are safe.

Hello team, I just wanted to ask if you guy's can update Blockfolio with all the recent new exchange listings that have happened recently so we can start getting some more accurate price data. Ty guys for everything that you've been doing. Project is looking strong. Cheesy

Blockfolio was contacted about the wrong data and provided information so they can correct it. Just waiting on them to implement.

Nah, Lets keep this baby hidden from the big exchanges for a little while longer... Let us small fish accumulate before moving to larger and more greedy traders  Wink

Has anyone been trading on Vinex?  I've never heard of it until this coin... At this point I'm stuck on graviex with a sell side thinner than lake-ice in April, but would like to get some more in my bag at current prices

Yes, I have tested out Vinex BTC/Veil deposit and withdrawal. It has listed Veil since around launch and is currently the highest real trade volume exchange for Veil.

This looks super interesting how do I participate.in this activity

You can stake by having funds in your Veil wallet, and converting your Basecoin, CT, and RingCT balances to Zerocoin. Then keep the wallet open 24/7 to continue staking Smiley.

See here for detailed instructions: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5125073#post_istake

Guys I have a question on POS mining. How much will I get coins per day or per month if you buy and put on the wallet of 1000 coins Veil. I want to understand what ROI?

With 1,000 coins, you may get (on average) one stake every 13 days. That means you need 13k coins for on average one stake of 50 coins per day. Over time you will need more coins than 13k for one stake a day on average because the coin supply is increasing fast for the first few years.
