Come back to the forum and shocked this thread is still active after all this time!

He's been gradually trickling out payments to people ever since early June...slowly, for sure, but still doing it.

I can't imagine, if he is truly doing arbitrage, that he isn't making an absolute killing right now. But in terms of USD, he owes about half of what he did just a few months ago.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Is NOT Dead (It Is Just Dying A Slow Death) on: January 06, 2015, 10:19:43 PM
I think this posting by Coblee: “Litecoin Does Not Need Development Right Now” will go down in history final turning point and starting date of LTCs last phase of life, leading to complete project failure and price < 1Ct.

Even now, well known hardcore Litecoiners for the first time don't believe Coblee anymore, they doubt the statement and think its wrong and questioned it in public.
(People that always until this point took als words from Coblee as "undoubtedly messages from god" and NEVER questioned a word he said before and always frenetic defended other controverse statements by Coblee before.)

Except that he's right. The protocol works as intended. It doesn't have any huge bugs that need squashing. What he's saying is that you shouldn't expect them to start adding any new bells and whistles to it, in an effort to create news for some kind of short-term pump. There's no reason to add anything that could potentially break it, for questionable gain.

He isn't suggesting that Litecoin doesn't need any third party development. He's just saying that the protocol itself is solid. Look at what Warren is working on, in terms of changes. There ARE things planned for it...changes to accommodate sidechains in the future and things of that nature, which will eventually require a hard fork. But with the protocol working well and not encountering major problems, there ISN'T an urgent need for major developments. It's short attention span theater in crypto, these days...I swear.

I´m sorry, but if you followed the thread from the beginning, you would know, that his family received personal threats, and thats the only reason, why he´s still here, paying as little as possible and as much as neccessary

You will find me posting in this thread all the way back to page 4. I know what's going on. I really don't care whether he's doing arbitrage to get the money to pay us back, or he took a second job to earn it...we need to be made whole and we are, even if it's slow. All I care about is that we continue being paid back.

Nobody here is happy to have lost their money. Not a single one. You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake, in this thread.

I hate to break it to you, Starfishi, but you're about seven months late to the party with your rant and the situation is what it is, now. It has been this way since summer and it's unlikely to change, certainly not because you are ranting and raving about it here. The fact is, we could all be sitting here a whole lot poorer with no prospects of ever seeing the money back at all. As it is, he's still making payments. Slowly, yes, but he's making them.

"payments"; they are so small and randomly, that i take them as "insults".
Do the math, they won´t get us anywhere . .

The math is pretty easy...every .05 Bitcoin is .05 more than I had, the day before.

At this point, if he keeps paying as he has, it will eventually come back to me. It's gonna take a long time, but it will come. I will survive...I lost a lot, but not so much that it put me in dire straits.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is scrypt MH/s profit per MH/s? on: December 16, 2014, 10:16:36 PM
I'll be buying a scrypt miner next year, but need to know what to expect for profit. I'm looking at the ZeusMiner Volcano which features 300 MH/s. Can anyone tell me how much I can expect to make, based on today's market values and difficulty. It would be nice to have an estimated $0.xx per MH/s

Thanks in advance!

As I understood it, Zeus was not going to be selling these. They appear to want to focus on their "cloud mining" scam...er...operation.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: December 10, 2014, 09:01:57 PM
Considering that it's been a solid month since they claimed they'd be shipping "soon" - I'd say the writing has to be on the wall, at this point. I don't think anyone actually wants the systems anymore, anyway.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: scrypt asics - what one have you ordered or using? on: December 08, 2014, 06:35:15 PM
They're all horrifically overpriced. I'm out of the mining game until prices come back in line with reality...which may be never.
15  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: btc-arbs.com - Update: dead HYIP, Refund progress: BTC-arbs still doing refunds on: December 08, 2014, 06:23:28 PM
I received my first payment 5 july, already over 5 months ago, since then waiting very patiently...
This will take at least 15 years to get even...  Undecided

The good news is that in 15 years, that Bitcoin is probably going to be worth a whole lot more than it was when you deposited it Wink
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: December 08, 2014, 06:18:41 PM
I'm here to declare home mining completely dead and a total thing of the past. There is now no way anyone can possibly make ROI purchasing any of the available hardware out there, period!

Not one product on Rigwarz.com can even come close to achieving a ROI, even though they say they can. I challenge anyone reading this to prove me wrong. After you're done embarrassing yourself i'll explain why it's impossible using any of the miners that one runs in their homes. Even if you get free electricity and pay 0 in pool fees, you still can't make your money back, period.

The days of making money by mining coins is long gone unless the price of bitcoin skyrockets. Which honestly, I don't see that happening with all the new regulations that are making it near impossible to use as was intended. It's a miracle the price has held above $350 for as long as it has. Everyday massive amounts of BTC mining hardware becomes obsolete as the difficulty rises.

The only way to make a buck mining is if you got the chips for free, say you trick a bunch of customers into buying them for you. Anyone come to mind?

The hardware manufacturers are gouging people at retail...bottom line. Their markup is insane but they do it because it's a high risk business where their product becomes obsolete within months. There's a reason that the manufacturer who started out selling a piece of hardware at $10,000 can, after two or three months, sell that same piece of hardware for like $3,000. They aren't taking a loss at $3,000, I can tell you that.

However, I remember very clearly a bunch of GPU miners in July-August of last year, talking about how they were getting out of mining because it just wasn't profitable anymore. Then BOOM - prices skyrocketed and they'd have been raking in the money with low difficulty, while others scrambled to get involved. That's the mining game. When we finally see the return of a bull market, things will improve again...but the hardware has to come down in price and the only way that'll happen is if people stop paying the inflated prices. I personally wouldn't pay more than $3.50/MH for an ASIC now (that includes power supply, etc...) and nobody is offering that. Cheapest I've seen is about $5. I'm also not going to do any more pre-orders. So I may be done with mining for a while...which just means what I would have spent on hardware is going directly into coin.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is it worth to buy a 5.6 MH/s Scrypt miner? on: December 07, 2014, 12:48:46 AM
Hashlets may be an option but I do think there are much better was to spend your $.

Like throwing your money down a rat hole.
18  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: btc-arbs.com - Update: dead HYIP, Refund progress: BTC-arbs still doing refunds on: December 07, 2014, 12:19:43 AM
You guys gave him a bunch of coins. He took it. Every so often he pops back in to throw some pennies back to you guys and you guys sit here and take it.

The alternative is the expense of a protracted legal action against the primaries involved with BTC-Arbs, in a foreign country, with no certainty of receiving anything in return financially. Although many people are aware of the identities of those who ran BTC-Arbs, the incentive to pursue legal satisfaction isn't there if they continue to demonstrate an intent to refund everyone...even if it takes a long time.

So what are we going to do? Wind them up with legal action that stops all funds from being returned to people? Or just wait it out and let them try to make restitution. Because he's still here six months later, paying people back...it may be slow, but it's still happening. As far as whether or not the repayment is the result of arbitrage, or whether he took a second job to pay people back...I don't much care.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is it worth to buy a 5.6 MH/s Scrypt miner? on: December 05, 2014, 09:39:45 PM
Right now, at retail prices for hardware, mining isn't really very worthwhile. You would never see that hardware earn $400 on almost ANY coin, to pay for itself. Most hobbyists do it for fun, or they have a situation where they get free power and don't have to worry about expenses, beyond the cost of the hardware. But for everyone else, it has grown increasingly unprofitable. Hardware manufacturers, in my opinion, are gouging retail miners with their prices. So are most cloud mining services. Unless the coin price switches into a STRONG bull run and explodes upward (unlikely right now) my mining is more or less on hold, until prices of both hardware and coin come into a more copacetic relationship.

I'm taking the money I would have spent on hardware and putting it in coin to sit on, in the meantime.

I suppose it could be easier to aggregate the week's profits and do it once a week or something, but it'd be nice if BTC-Arbs would clarify how he's doing things, so people would have some reasonable expectation of when things would happen. Make it a round every Friday or whatever.
