1  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Hash Rate / CPU Comparison Table on: December 03, 2010, 12:40:32 AM
are you sure that you are using all cores?
~800 khash/s seems like your using a single core only.

you can also try jgarzik's cpu-miner with the 4way-switch, to squeeze out some more hashes, it doubles the hash-rate on my AMD X3 720, not sure what it does to your i5 though.
Thank you; I set the parameters to use all of the cores available and the client started to obtain ~1800 khash/s. There seems to be a large fluctuation between the hash rates, though - the range of the hash rates is 750-1800 khash/s.

Here are two additional statistics:

Model name    : Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU       M 450  @ 2.40GHz
OS                : Microsoft Windows 7 x64
Client version : 0.3.17
Core speed     : 1197.3 MHz
Multiplier:      : x 9.0
Hash rate       : ~1800 khash/s

Model name   : ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650
OS                : Microsoft Windows 7 x64
Client version : 0.3.17
GPU clock      : 550 MHz
GPU MHz       : 933.000
Miner            : m0mchil's OpenCL
Hash rate      : ~48,000 khash/s

I apologize for the lack of other information; I am not a computer-savvy person. However, if other members could define the needed specifications or explain how to obtain additional precision, I would be glad to provide the data.

On a side note, my i5-450M seems to have a lower hash rate than racerx's i3-350M. Is there an optimum parameter for the processors that I should use to obtain higher hash rates?
