Currently, still on my Road Trip, ready to check out of this Nebraskan hotel. I will update the tally tonight, along with adding a few from my end.

Thanks so kindly for the past few donations.

hello davout and all the bitcoin-central crew

What about the missing wallets ? These were said to be treated after the initial period of 90 days and some haven't been claimed.
I'm actually having like 80btc frozen at your company servers, and was curious about the way they are treated, and why they're missing.

Thanks for your response !
Wordofmouth

Good luck, Paymium is operating like a rogue scammer now ... you probably wont hear back from them.

Edit: this is you right davout?

To be fair, davout is currently working on my three claims totally 1,100+ BTC via email.

To save money on lodging, we should just have a giant slumber party. We can gossip, try on makeup, and compare our moobs (man boobs).

And, in the spirit of The Tutu Project, every male dons a pink tutu.

4984  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcoin 100: Developed Specifically for Non-Profits on: December 15, 2013, 02:24:08 AM
I guess you deserve a raise for epicness.
Make that 10 BTC from me to the Tutu Project.
I'd consider more if they produced a special run of their Ballerina Book with a picture of Phinnaeus included Smiley

You do realize that it was your initial post that caused me to do this, don't you? I truly need to know if you're serious about the 10 BTC donation (originally it was a 1 BTC pledge) before I send them an email. The only other thing I'm looking for is more pics of me in LV donning the pink tutu.

BTW, while in route to LV, I mentioned to this clerk at an Ace Hardware what I was going to do and why, whereupon she informed me that she had breast cancer. The guy behind me gave me $20, stating to put it toward the cause, whereupon I told him I would match it. Hopefully, I'll be able to honor his request via bitcoins, otherwise I'll do it via CC.

The GW Zoo. The World's Largest Tiger sanctuary open to the public needs our help. They were hit massively by the sudden temperature changes in the MidWest. I know the owner personally, it is a NPO and he would be interested in being set up to accept BTC.

This is another NPO that is hosting the Zoo's donation page for the recent tragedy
http://donateoklahoma.usza.us/ (United States Zoological Association)

Their home site is
http://www.gwzoo.org/   (Largest Tiger sanctuary in the world that is open to the public)

They Zoo's youtube has some great videos that have went viral
http://www.youtube.com/user/JoeExoticTV

Also I know they have a great relationship with Barcroft Media and them accepting BTC for entry and as donations will make international press which is good for the coin.

What can we do to get them set up?

Getting them set up is not a problem. Having them accept bitcoins is all that they would have to do now to get a $1,000 USD via bitcoins endowment from Bitcoin 100.

Have your friend go here https://bitpay.com/bitcoin-for-charities where he'll find the process fairly easy to do with excellent support on BitPay's end.

http://www.naturalnews.com/040859_Skynet_quantum_computing_D-Wave_Systems.html

So, does that mean Bitcoin is soon to become irrelevant?
When they announced the great hadron collider, there was a group of idiots writing articles how it's gonna open a portal to another dimension or suck Earth into a black hole.
This is exactly the same level of journalism.

what if we actually did get sucked into an alternate universe but we didn't realize, and the people at power now are the ones behind the LHC and they trapped us in a matrix like scheme, and satoshi is also one of the guys from the original universe, but he has gone rogue.

and now they're trying to make really powerful agents to stop the bitcoin threath.

Excellent! At least I know that in another timeline I did not don a pink tutu in Las Vegas, albeit I pity them souls that were forced to listen to the Bitcoin for Goats presentation.

4993  Other / Off-topic / Re: Almost got laid last night, messed up BAD, please help... on: December 14, 2013, 04:45:44 PM
Ok this is embarrassing but I have an issue with social anxiety mixed with some awkwardness and inexperience but please minimize your poking fun. I really am trying to improve how I interact with people and could use good advice

So I went to a party last night and to make a long story short, it didn't go so well. I won't go into the details of that right now, but let's just say it could have gone better. But, I still ended up going home with a girl.

Some info about her...she's 25, studying to be a nurse, and she's close friends with the host of the party...a girl who is a manager at the gym I go to. So I went back to her place. We were both pretty drunk...and I was definitely nervous. I haven't had sex in quite some time (not a virgin, but it's been about 5 years) and the last time I had sex it didn't go so well. So we start off making out, and I guess I did a good job because she didn't complain or say anything bad at that point. Here's where things turned for the worse.

She smiles at me, turns off the light, says "do you know what I'd like?", and starts pushing my head downwards. I laugh a little and try to play it cool, but I'm honestly terrified as fuck. I've never done this shit before and I literally have no idea wtf I'm going to do. So I lift her dress up and pull her panties there and man oh man it's sitting right there smiling at me. Jesus. So I go down there and I guess I started licking the wrong part because she sort of adjusts my head a few times. It lasted for about 2 minutes and then she said, "Okay well let's just try something different." Thank God that was over with. So then she pushes me on my back and starts to pull my pants down. I start thinking, "Oh God come on get hard get hard get hard," and of course my dick is just sitting there. She starts sucking on my dick and nothing is happening!! It's just sitting there. After a minute or so she looks at me and says, "Is something wrong?" I lied and told her I was just too drunk. So she keeps doing it for a bit and eventually I get this sorry excuse for a half-boner. She says, "Well good, enough of that...let's get down to business." She asks if I have a condom and luckily I brought three, so I go to the bathroom. This is where it gets really crappy and awkward.

I excuse myself to the bathroom and head on in there. I pull the condoms out of my pocket but I wasn't really sure what one to use since I had three different kinds. I decided to just go with the regular Trojan and prayed it would be the right size. The only problem is I'm not nearly hard enough and the stupid condom is slippery as fuck. I started to panic and my little half erection started to go back down...so I got really desperate at this point. I pulled out my Droid smartphone and started watching porn. I went to the first video I could find and started fapping right there in the bathroom. The entire time I was thinking, "Jesus christ please get hard again" which I don't think helped anything. Eventually I got hard again and got the condom over my dick. So the last time I had sex I didn't last long AT ALL, and I didn't want that to happen again. I remembered what a buddy had told me...put on a second condom to last longer. So I took the magnum Trojan I had and slipped it on top of the regular one I already had. This turned out to be a huge fuckinging mistake.

So eventually I feel like I'm good to go. I exit the bathroom and the girl is asleep on the bed. I nudge her and asked if she still wanted to do this. She opened her eyes and smiled and shook her head yes, so I decided to go for it. I lifted her legs and started poking around with my dink and eventually found the right hole. I started thrusting a bit and she started moaning, and then it happened. The stupid magnum condom slipped off inside of her. She noticed right away and stopped me. She said, "hold up your condom slipped off, let me put it back on." So she reached down, fished it out, and went to put it back on me. However, she immediately noticed I already had one on. She said, "What the fuck?" and just sort of stared at me. At this point, I instantly lost what erection I had and just sort of drooped down with this awkward condom just stuck on me. I think I said something like "Oh uh, I guess I forgot I already had one on", but I was so fucking red and sweating and nervous that I honestly could have said anything. She just sort of sat there and shook her head and said, "I think you should probably go home." I got dressed and went to kiss her and she just turned away. I asked if I could see her again and she said she'd call me, but I'm a bit skeptical considering she doesn't have my number and didn't ask for it. We had taken a cab back to her place from the party, so I ended up walking home at around 4am. It was about a 5 mile walk and it started raining, I just wanted to curl up in my bed and cry.  Sad

The worst part is, this girl is super close friends with the manager at the gym I go to. I'm almost certain she's going to tell her about what happened. It's going to be embarrassing as hell and I'm not sure I can show my face there anymore. It's the only decent gym in town and the girl works there 5 days a week during the only hours I can go. I have no idea what the hell to do now or how to fix this situation.

Any advice? I'm sorry for the wall of text, but I figured you all should know the details so you can give the best advice.

Here's some advice. Tell her you're sorry and, to prove it, tell her you posted the experience on BitcoinTalk.

So he actually did it! Way to go! Cheesy

Not quite, apparently:

Faysal Hanneche who was on a mission to the South Pole has made a bitcoin transaction from the Novolazarevskaya Station on Antarctica. This must be the only continent from which a bitcoin transaction had not yet been made  Grin Grin

This is the transaction which was sent to me:
https://blockchain.info/tx/f87eaa6f7870ae3b7f677cb0929c69d1b7b2bcdf0a5e33a033aef8b05f6f68ac

It was sent to me and I now have to find a way to get him a pizza in Cape Town, South Africa where he is at the moment.

More about Faysal's mission which was unfortunately unsuccessful due to a knee injury:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=317249

Faysal also took these pictures of a Bitcoin flag that was designed:

Boy, am I confused. At first I didn't think he made it, then I saw the planted flag, then I stood corrected. Either way, it's the first Bitcoin flag to grace the mighty continent of Antarctica.

Dear Maria,

Please meet my friend Dmitry. We met in business school and he now runs a foundation that is looking for worthy nonprofits to donate to. He has donated $1,000 each to the Khan Academy, Inward Bound Mindfulness Education, and my friend Amy's Primate Education Network, to name a few. I think Collegiate might be a great fit.

Dmitry's foundation is called BitCoin100. It arose out of the generosity of a few early adopters of a nerdy-but-amazing currency called BitCoins (if you haven't heard of them, this might help) that is poised to become the dominant online payment method. Their goal is to promote the value of the currency for nonprofits: when donors make their donations in BitCoins, the recipient nonprofit keeps 100% (hence the name). None of the funds are lost to credit card or processing fees.

BitCoin100 donates $1,000 to selected nonprofits who agree to accept the currency on their donation page. It doesn't take much work to get it set up, but I know the money could do a lot of good for Collegiate.

@Dmitry, Maria is my cousin and works in fundraising for the private (nonprofit, of course) high school I attended in Richmond, VA. They create a rigorous learning environment with small class sizes and a reputation for a community-focused culture. A $1,000 donation would make a big difference helping provide scholarships-- I certainly couldn't have gone to school there myself without such donations.

Good luck!

This one is a non-profit private school. I think this one may be stretching it a bit  Undecided

Dear Jess,

Please meet my friend Dmitry. We met in business school and he now runs a foundation that is looking for worthy nonprofits to donate to. He recently donated $1,000 each to my friend Jessie's Inward Bound Mindfulness Education and my friend Amy's Primate Education Network. I think he will really appreciate the mission of Clear Water Initiative.

Dmitry's foundation is called BitCoin100. They arose out of the generosity of a few early BitCoin adopters to promote the value of the currency for nonprofits: when donors make their donations in BitCoins, the recipient nonprofit keeps 100% (hence the name). None of the funds are lost to credit card or processing fees.

BitCoin100 donates $1,000 to selected nonprofits who agree to accept the currency on their donation page. It doesn't take much work to get it set up, but I know the money could do a lot of good helping your group provide drinking water.

@Dmitry, Jess is a friend of mine who works at the same coworking space as I do. Her group has helped fight diarrhea since 2007 by empowering displaced Ugandans returning from refugee camps to rehabilitate and maintain wells. A $1,000 donation would be a big help with their projects.

Good luck!

This one seems legit.

Of course, https://www.collegiate-va.org/makeagift?rc=1 is predicated on them embracing Bitcoin, isn't that correct. To date, only an email was sent to them, of which they may decline. Even though they're a school, as long as they're secular and is established as an NPO, they should be fine, but opened for discussion nonetheless.

http://clearwaterinitiative.org/ ~ A Bitcoin donation option on their donation page would look great. They pass, and I like these folks.

Now, can I get back to my 5000 mile vacation?  Roll Eyes

Also

http://www.baltimoreannapoliskendo.com/common/page.php?id=15

this is also a non-profit (registered), run by volunteers, open to the public, with monthly fees only going to pay to rent the practice space. This isn't really a charity, but thought I'd ask.

Should be close enough, considering...

Quote
Baltimore-Annapolis Kendo is incorporated as a non-profit, non-stock entity. Our instructors are 100% volunteer and are not paid.  This allows us to learn kendo at a low cost.  We seek to hand down what we have learned to the next generation of kendo and iaido enthusiasts. Kendo and iaido are life-long learning activities. We learn about ourselves and achieve personal growth through the study of these Samurai arts.

I like them and would it be neat to see a Bitcoin donation option on their website.
