101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: January 20, 2020, 05:39:18 PM
How do I get my coins 100% liquid for the fork tomorrow? Do nothing? How do I freeze coins in the client? Do it in batches? How?

I don't believe anyone said the fork is tomorrow.  But it is happening soon. Not sure...
The team wants the network to have over 75% of people switched over to the new network update before doing so.
I believe it stands around 63% now (unless I am reading the Network numbers wrong), so people are switching over pretty good.

David or BitBayDev will let us know exactly when that will happen.

Basically ALL your coins will be liquid when the fork happens I do believe.
Don't worry about "freezing coins" in the client or "Doing it in batches" at this point.

Just relax and don't worry about doing a lot of stuff now.
Just sit tight and after the fork we can specifically address all your other concerns later.
In the meantime - go back to the website and review how all this works - it's all there.

I'm using the latest market client (2.0). What is the difference between "Actual Balance" and "Available Balance"?

"Actual Balance" is your TOTAL Amount of BAY.
"Available Balance" is what you have available that is not being used in staking.

Every 24 hours or so your Available Balance will equal your Actual Balance; and then the Proof of Stake (POS) algo will kick in again - IF you want to keep staking. I stake 24/7/365 for the "interest" gained in actual BAY from staking and supporting the network. Smiley

FYI - I have uploaded the update to 3.0 and everything is running like clock-work. NO PROBLEMS.
"Just do a regular install, load your keys and sync." D. Zim    Boom! That's it!

Repost from BitBayDev (This is very important, I don't want anyone to miss it!):

As some of you already know, BitBay will be hard-forking very soon, in preparation for the release of the Dynamic Peg! If you use the Qt wallet or markets client to store your BAY, you must update to the latest version by downloading from:

https://bitbay.market/downloads

For any support with the update, please feel free to ask.

THIS IS A MANDATORY UPDATE!

(Web wallet users, your coins will be safe during the fork but please consider using the Qt wallet to help support the BitBay network.)

I have updated the QT; this went quite smoothly, as hoped.  I am also staking, but the results appear to be a bit odd.   Before update, I was staking a few dozen times/day, gaining 20 coins each time, as expected.  I am now gaining 18 coins each time, every other minute.  So something must be wrong, surely?

@Cryptonaire - I have asked David to look at your comment. Thank You.
My staking amount has decreased a bit also down to 19.99994446
I just checked and I am doing better than usual also. At least it's not less than I did before! Cheesy

Your increased run might have happened because everything "caught up" to what you had coming that was in que?
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: January 09, 2020, 07:14:44 PM
Hi Everyone,
I just checked to see if everything was running smoothly after updating for the fork.

MY ACCOUNT IS FUNCTIONING PERFECTLY AND I AM ONCE AGAIN STAKING.
TOTAL DOWN TIME WAS LESS THAN 3 HOURS from the time I exited the client, and uploaded the new one.
Then, it took about 5 hours to start receiving staked coin again, as seen on the Extraction file page.

Hopefully Little Tiny Piston sold all his/her/its Bay by now... I wonder why the hard-on for Bay all these years?
Maybe his mothers name was "Bay" and she/it abandoned him/her as a child Huh
Just kinda strange the amount of negativity he/she/it holds. Must be a paid shill to throw shade all the time.

NEXT:  Like 3dant I was a little nervous about changing anything. But as I found out, I did not have to worry, it was a very smooth transition.
Thank you again David for all your help. Everything is running beautifully!  Smiley

hopenotlate:
Yes, there is a HIGHLY recommended end date of 1-21-20.
However, the SOONER everyone does it the better!

Whether its the QT or Markets Wallet/Halo everyone needs to do it at their earliest convenience.
I just did my Markets/Halo update on my desktop that I run everything off of, including my staking.

Simply follow David's very good directions and it will go very smoothly.
I read the instructions (above) 5 times before I attempted it; and it was not that difficult.
We've all done updates before, this is not really that different.

So - DO NOT DELAY THE UPGRADE TO CONTINUE STAKING REWARDS.
WHY? ONCE YOU UPLOAD THE NEW CLIENT AND UNLOCK YOUR WALLET, YOU WILL/CAN START STAKING ASAP, JUST LIKE YOU HAD BEEN DOING.

Think of it like the down time you may experience during a computer update or loss of electricity, etc.
You simply have to Rescan and Re-Synchronize the wallet; and viola!, its running and staking again.
Call it growing pains.

Again, EVERYBODY NEEDS TO UPLOAD THE NEW MARKETS AND QT WALLETS at their earliest convenience.
It is super important for the fork, this be done sooner rather than later.

Bottom Line: The sooner everyone downloads; the sooner we can all BE FREE.
So... Get on it, doggone it!

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

The Game Has Changed. Be Free. Peace.

is it possible to get listed on any of these exchanges?
https://fuk.io/no-kyc-exchanges-list/

Some of the top exchanges may be a bit expensive to list. But we definitely have them on our radar.
Some of the top exchanges would love to have what we have... we are next level. Be Free.

Good Question.
Answer: We really don't trust many exchanges these days. Also, Bay needs additional programming to run its 1st In The World Dynamic Peg - so every exchange simply cannot do the programming that's necessary to run our unique "Stable Coin" during our early implementation stages.
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: December 11, 2019, 06:12:25 PM
(From D. Zimbeck 10-08-2019 - "*Bay has been around for 5 years, and is one of the most developed projects in the industry. All it takes is for someone to look at github and the 50k lines of original code in Halo to know that. BitHalo and BitBay were the first smart contracts, a year before Ethereum. Although they are different because this project uses double deposit escrow. And that doesn't even get started on the peg.")

So - What is Bit Bay?
(From the BitBay Dynamic Peg Overview)

BitBay is the *World’s first peer-to-peer, decentralized contracting platform.
Everything from household items to real estate have been bought and sold using BitBay’s marketplace, all without any third-party involvement.

We are proud to announce a brand new method of price control for BitBay (BAY), one that has yet to be seen in the stablecoin industry.
It’s called the Dynamic Peg. With this system of liquidity control, BAY now serves as both a store of value, and a medium of exchange for users. It stimulates organic trading volume, increases potential profit for investors, and creates price stability for our p2p marketplace.

It is purely decentralized, non asset-backed and most importantly, a democratic system. The Dynamic Peg reduces volatility, without anchoring the price to any one point. Through a secure Proof of Stake 3.0 voting mechanism, stakers can now collectively adjust the liquidity of BAY’s total supply. This creates three balances for users: Liquid, Reserve and Frozen...

To learn more go to:
https://bitbay.market/downloads/bitbay-dynamic-peg-intro.pdf and https://bitbay.market/decentralized-marketplace

SIDE NOTE:
Not being on major exchanges at this point in time while the peg is being implemented (Exchange(s) that host BAY need to be programmed for it!), might be the best thing that ever happened to BAY. And, for those of us that are early investors, when BAY relaunches on an exchange at $0.20 - BOOM!
All the pain will have been worth it!  Cheers!!! - Doc

@cryptonaire - I don't think Bay is operating on Latoken's test environment yet.
It's in the process... God only knows if they will honor their commitment.
We shall see.

In the meantime... @crypt - we should talk. Do you know how to contact David?
If you do, can you ask him to give me your number and he can pass it to me.
I think we have much in common; and both seek to have BAY succeed in the long run.
Thanks

112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: November 21, 2019, 11:47:07 PM
For whatever it's worth - everything is running smoothly on my end; but I haven't changed a router or anything.

Also: we just need to have our own exchange. Period.
It sucks to have to depend on anybody else to run your stuff.  Right?
BUT, what we have makes us different, solid and transparent; and we learn as we go.
The powers that be are not as humanitarian oriented as David, shall we say.

So, we basically have an exchange in place that is running the peg beta site, so why not just use that?
It's right in front of our faces. Bay can't truly trust another exchange - ever.
...Unless they list us for FREE.
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: November 14, 2019, 08:28:26 AM
We just need a few good angels on this planet to pull the plug in their home country and start setting up their own de-centralized BitBay Marketplace.
Everything is right here to do that. David has done all the heavy lifting with this profound build.
Be creative! Let's roll! Power to the people right?!?
Here it is. Freedom. BitBay.market.
... now what are we going to do with it?
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: November 03, 2019, 06:57:40 AM
quick question, I've got the wallet and everything seems to be running smoothly...except when I click on marketplace its empty am I doing anything wrong?

The marketplace is empty because no one is posting. However, the community IS testing the web based double deposit on beta.bitbay.market if you would like to check that out and even join in.

Many of us are simply waiting for the exchanges to accept the peg.
Once that is resolved I think there will be an uptick in volume and price.

The only reason there is a delay with this crypto 2.0 (BAY/Manipulation Resistant), is that the exchanges have to run our code and it is a bit of a pain to implement; BUT can you imagine the traffic our truly stable coin marketplace will generate for an exchange?

What progress has been made on implementing the peg on BAY's in-house exchange?

On the "in-house exchange" the peg is running beautifully and has been tested. It works great and the price goes over $8.00 pretty quickly.

Is there any reliable blockchain bootstrap to speed up shyncronization?

Also my qt-wallet only shows 3 connections : should I create a .conf file to have a better connection to bitbay network? If so, may please someone paste its content here?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I think your answer may be found at: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/bay/#!network

Be sure to go to the "Network" page as it appears to not be loading all the way in the above URL.

(David can confirm this after he gets back to his computer if you have any further questions.)
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: November 01, 2019, 03:48:49 AM
@cryptohunter - I am ALL for everything you said.
I felt like I was reading my own writing and ideas...
Donating a percentage of our staking money for the cause was a new one I had not thought of; but I like!

Having said that... Right now we are in a holding pattern, everything is working, but we can't do much until the peg is up and running on an exchange.
Once we get it up and running, I will have a big party here in the Southwest somewhere, and those that want to participate can decide on how to implement all the great ideas yourself, David and I have all expressed over the years.
Once we are back up and running - it will be easy.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: October 29, 2019, 10:05:21 PM
@CryptoHunter - Yes onward and forward.
I just think the market is still soooo small and because BAY is what Crypto is supposed to ultimately be, that "they" just had to try and "pull it"... out of everyone's conscience by killing it on the exchanges.

@ParsiCoin - You have a very nice looking exchange - congratulations!
You are very young, with very little traffic - for now. Best wishes for success.
Thank you for your interest in BAY.

WORLD NOTICE:
BitBay.market IS FUNCTIONING AND HAS THE BEGINNINGS OF A WORLDWIDE MARKETPLACE.
I do private trading/sales on there now.

BAY is like Amazon, Ebay and Alibaba; however, in a TRULY DEcentralized block chain - for the world to use, FREE.
I think this coin would be perfect for those that cannot access traditional banking and eCommerce systems.
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: October 26, 2019, 10:55:09 AM
So... everyone now knows that everything in the world is... shall we say - rigged?
EVERYTHING... It's no longer a conspiracy theory. lol

However, anyone can still make M O N E Y if they work hard and are creative; and when the rigging stops and penance is paid, and true capitalism is allowed to flourish, BAY will do well, very well.

BTW - The cryptos, I think, are 90% a ponzi scheme to suck money into a black hole and F*** the people just looking for a way to stop being a slave.
Just imagine what it would be like if an Asian or European or African person with no credit card, or credit history said, "I would like to participate in global commerce; and BAY will allow me to do that!

BAY levels the playing field for everyone! AND - EVERYTHING IS WORKING AND READY TO SERVE THE PUBLIC! Now.

Having said that, if real people and real movements want to help the world survive, the world needs to wake up and start using BAY to CUT OUT THE MIDDLE MAN/WOMAN/or WHATEVER, and get the blood sucking vampires off our necks.

Peace.

Interesting...
$4,000 in the last 24 hours just moved BAY up $10M in market value. Wow.
Not having the slimy greasy fingers of the manipulators in our market may just be one of the best things that could have ever happened.
We will see.  Cheers! Wink
