Other contributors of the project are working with me already. I went through the github commits and contacted several of the other contributors a month ago, and this has helped revive interest in the project and accelerated our code reviews. This really isn't the battle of ego that one influential person may be making it out to be. In our world, the age of egotistic blockchain savants are over. Boolberry is broken and we are repairing it with a level of professionalism more in line with the broader software industry. You'll have to wait for more code updates if thats what you want to see for your comfort level.

What's broken?  The blockchain was working fine before you showed up.  Many of us have been mining Boolberry from the beginning and off and on over the last couple of years without any "Repairs" from you.  Please explain what was broken.

All that seems to have happened since you showed up was a coordinated pump.  You've added some checkpoints and made the developer bounty disabled by default.  All of those are very simple changes and does not prove that you have the ability tio make the changes to the code that you lead people to believe.  You have also made a comment about changing the trading ticker as if that would have anything to do with the technology, price, or adoption of this coin.  You were promptly followed by the typical shills asking "when yobit" "translation bounty" etc...  This is all suspect and leads one to think that this is nothing more than an elaborate attempt to pump the price so some can dump their coins.  My last post regarding BBR was to say that I'll hold off judgment before deciding on whether this is a pump or a legitimate effort to develop the coin.  I do not think that this is a legitimate effort to develop the coin and because of that I will support CZ 100% and will not take part in any hostile takeover attempt that you are currently pursuing.

That's where I stand.  You are free do do whatever you please and myself and others are free to call CZ's repository the official Boolberry version.

We want to change the trading symbol from BBR to XBR.

We think any confusion about finding the trading pair, and liquidity, will be very short lived

Why?

You would have to setup your own pool.  It's not that difficult.  https://github.com/clintar/node-cryptonote-pool
Even better, https://github.com/clintar/cryptonote-xmr-pool
I got so many dumb pool repos..
This one works for BBR?  I used the other one because i thought it was optimized for BBR.  Which is best?

This thread isn't worth following.  Nothing of substance just crap posts and name calling.  They should lock it and open a self moderated thread.  I don't particularly like moderated threads but when a thread turns into a cesspool like this one has something needs to be done.  Nobody reading this thread will find any substantive information.  Just crap and that will turn people off.

How are the discussions with those Ghanaian politicians going?  When will the website you claimed would accept Bitcedi be online?  It's been three months and http://nigeriafoodstuff.com is still offline.  What are the updates if any?

Too funny.

Just some advice.  I know in the USA anything related to Nigeria is immediately considered a scam and I know it's the same way in other countries.  411's and 419's are Nigeria's biggest exports.

Coin is forked.  Pools are at different block heights and have solved the same blocks.

Looks like mbk's pool crapped again. No payouts for 10 hours. This is getting really annoying.

I don't bother with the pools.  Too many issues.  I use mbk's boolberry-opencl to solomine and am finding blocks consistently.  The hashrate is low enough that solo mining is still the best option for me.  I get much less coins mining on a pool.  I'm also not affected by any DDOS attacks.  I did have a private pool setup but I seem to get more blocks with the solo mining using the daemon rather than pointing my miners at a pool.

Yup pool mining is broken right now. Neither Suprnova or Mbk work properly.

What daemon are you using? I've tried boolbd and when it finds a block it freaks out and breaks.

I'm using the open-cl from mbk https://github.com/mbkuperman/boolberry-opencl/releases

Like someone already stated though, you need to have plenty of RAM.  The blockchain is over three gigs and that gets loaded into memory so you're basically out of RAM.  I had the same problem on a box with only 4 gigs of RAM.  I doubled it to 8 gigs and everything works fine.  Same thing when running a pool. You need plenty of RAM or else the daemon will die.

Yeah, I tried boolbd for a bit. Every time it found a block the miner would crash. It also used 100% of my CPU. It wouldn't load with 4GB as well and I had to install 8GB.

Is there anyway to setup one stratum locally and have miners connect to it?

may i suggest you to try http://bbr.poolto.be ?
pool is running since more 2 years.
payout working fine.

I'll give it a shot, but payouts from Suprnova were less then 50% of what I should've been making, even less on Mbk.

You would have to setup your own pool.  It's not that difficult.  https://github.com/clintar/node-cryptonote-pool

Fake  It's on C-cex.  It's probably their coin.  I wouldn't trust the volume to be real.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to enlist CZ to do some changes, if needed. After all he stills gets his fee, and it would benefit him if that fee is higher in price due to development.
He's planning on incorporating a lot of things from his other project, so I'm not sure if current course is prudent.

I was wondering about that as well.  CZ has stated that he's not abandoned BBR and will be incorporating changes in the future.  This "takeover" seems premature.

Hey guys,

I've just taken a look at the commits to the new github repo (here: https://github.com/BlockchainDevelopmentCompany/boolberry/commits/master)
And there is not much happening, yet. Besides some version renaming, that introduces rune, and some new checkpoints.

I like the spirit here, but I really would like to see some new code. I assume github will not just be used for showcasing/transparency, but also for the active development?

Have you looked at the code?  It's not just as simple as pulling in some commits from other cryptonote coins.  CZ made some very significant changes to the original bytecoin code.  Boolberry is an entirely different beast.  It's definitely not an insignificant task to alter the code.  But I do agree that there should be some development beyond just creating a github account and adding checkpoints.  It's still too early to tell whether or not this is a serious attempt to develop Boolberry or just smoke and mirrors to pump the coin.  I'm holding off judgement for now and will watch what transpires over the next month or so.

Why not? If they list it for voting we will win the vote

Because cryptonote coins are different than bitcoin clones.  They tried adding cryptonote a long time ago but were unable to incorporate it into their trading platform.  This topic comes up frequently in cryptonote coin threads.  Exchanges supporting cryptonote are Poloniex, Bittrex, Cryptopia, and BTER.  Boolberry is listed on all of those.  If by some very small chance c-cex makes another attempt to incorporate cryptonote coins into their platform and lists Boolberry it isn't going to have any effect anyway.  Just what do you think being listed on c-cex would do for Boolberry?  It's already on Poloniex which is by far a much larger exchange by volume.

I am waiting c-cex to respond to add BBR to be listed there. Prepare to vote for Boolberry - The best crypto note!

c-cex doesn't list cryptonote coins.

How about we rename Boolberry to Boolcoin?

Bool reprents the 0 or 1. It is more or less like Bit.

If you say one Bit, it would be a 0 or an 1.

If you say one Bool, it would be a 0 or an 1 as well.

Does it make sense?

Are you fucking serious?  Grin

We have gone through this name-change trauma twice already, it was hugely contentious and ultimately pointless. It was BBR's "Brexit" moment - "Boolberry" won on both occasions, it's settled.

The name is fine, leave it alone. Life's too short.

You made me laugh.  thanks!

The fact the topic never dies is proof enough the name sucks.... or maybe it is proof enough the name is awesome..... nah it sucks

The fact that the name is still being debated proves that the name elicits different feelings from different people  That in itself is good.  Anytime people are engaged in a positive conversation regarding a product it's good for that product.  If the name Boolberry is a catalyst for conversation regarding Boolberry then the name itself brings awareness to the project.

Excellent point shojayxt.  If I may summarize, the alternately provocative and evocative Boolberry appellation is a work of art.

Additionally, the memorable nomenclature is antifragile, having been ruthlessly attacked and experiencing one or two near-death experiences only to emerge stronger than before.

I propose we call "Dingleberries" the folks who insist on futilely pounding sand to effect a name change, in recognition of their Not-this-shit-again.jpg producing proclivities.   Tongue

You made me laugh.  Thanks!

Cheesus do we really need to hash this out again. How about boolrune, or honeybool, or boolshit, or maybe just leave it alone Tongue

Lol. It is rather hilarious at this point isn't it?

Its like the word "berry" somehow cuts at the very nature of bitcointalk users. Some weird universal relationship.

Ha ha.  That's funny but true.

The name is fine.
