Charity Update 1:
We will receive plenty of complentary tickets for the event when we hit our $10k mark. Folks, with matching donations, we're already half way there. I'm on a TV news station tomorrow to talk about Nxt and Songs of Love.

great work! can you pm me the donation address? i cant do it atm and it would save me hunting for it again later in this monstrosity of a thread lol id like to help.. i dont have much but its something.. on another note... the place i normally buy bitcoin seems out of actoin for some reason.. i only want it to buy nxt.. :/ lol im wondering if anyone would be interested in selling me 100/150 euro worth of nxt? il do a sepa transfer first so you know im not scamming. i have no other way of buying coin at this moment.. :/ you can hold the coins until payment goes through if you like.. thanks and no harm if no one is willing to sell. Nifty and Bitventurer got Nxt for their conference costs
Some new little promotion projects were also paid: reddit tipbot giveaway, nxt wallet giveaway, chinese promotion and first 2 newsletters. There is also 15k promised for starcraft, but unique now wants 25k + more nxt for some casters
I let you know way back in january that it cost more than 15K though! At the time this was begun the price of NXT was half what it is today, you wont get professional players who get their livelihood from this game to play for a couple hundred. And of course casters cost money. I received the funding for the conference. Thanks Salsa! I for one think getting into the gaming community could be a huge audience for Nxt and 25k would be well worth the investment |

Part 2 of ZipZap and GoCoin
When I spoke to the guys at the conference, both were asking basically the same thing:
"How is the market we attract different than Bitcoin/Litecoin"
This is an extremely valuable point. If we don't bring in a different market segment, why add redundancy. I know some people don't like the green/eco area, that's cool, but it's a legit difference. As Bitcoin continues to get larger, some people aren't going to be fond of the amount of resources it utilizes. Nxt should be able to appeal to that market on a mass scale.
What else? Why add us if you already have Bitcoin/Litecoin?
This is important, not just mental masturbation. I'd like to make contact again by the end of the week.
Green is nice, but not the important thing. NXT is PoS NXT is a whole ecosystem NXT is new code. ( when they find a flaw in BTC, its not in NXT) I would disagree a little bit. Yes the three things you mentioned are very important, but the average person could care less about if it is a whole ecosystem or new code. They want to know how it is going to effect them personally and what makes a difference in their eyes. Peercoin has gone a long way with the green/eco friendly angle to gain mainstream attraction. Nxt takes this to a whole new level with PoS which will appeal to an even wider audience. Once the mainstream knows who we are and what we are about they will be able to appreciate the fact that we are not similar to Bitcoin or any other alt, and the fact that we are making our own path with new code. It is important that we show ZipZap and GoCoin that we can attract a different and wider audience than Bitcoin/Litecoin. We are in fact very different and green because of our PoS algo, which will be very attractive to them. We need to build up the data from John's earlier post and make a presentation for these guys. This is a very important step for Nxt to take to get into the mainstream and prove itself. I hope someone will step up to dig up the data we need so that we can make this presentation to them. Who is willing to step up and take the initiative? |

Huge Marketing Opportunity
Great job Salsacz and the rest of the Berlin crew! NiftyNikel will be contacting you today to talk a bit about our charity drive we're about to start for SongsofLove. Our marketing group, CoinTropolis, will start the party off by donating 10k Nxt. I've worked with the foundation director before... they are completely behind it.
Not only does giving back feel good, it gives us a story worth printing with the 200+ writers we have in our media list.
Could you elaborate on this? they are collecting nxt helpers for months but until today they shared 0 contacts from that list with other marketing guys so it is worthless for us This is not true at all and I'm apologize if you got that impression. I emailed the swarm out to the members that signed up through the volunteer form at the time to minimize the exposure of the list to competitors that may be lurking in the forums. The spreadsheet is public and like Justabit said there have been many people that have contributed. If you would like a link to it Salsa let me know, I will get it sent to you. It was no way meant to be held from anyone, I just did not want it to be out in the wild. |

Have the committees already been decided?
Nope, not yet. I have been nominated by a few guys so I am willing to step up. I have already spent 2 months on NXT and pioneered the marketing angle of NXT, so I'd fit on the marketing committee. I have a ton of projects up my sleeves and can sympathize with great community members who are lacking payment for their efforts so I will be 100% fair in all ways. There are several members that can verifiy this, I am just eager to get a committee going so that we can move NXT to the nxt level I am right there with Uniqueorn, I can't wait to get this marketing committee together so we can get to work. I have been nominated by a couple guys as well and look forward to the opportunity if I get a position on the committee. I am also part of a start up company that I can get involved with Nxt to amplify my efforts |
