1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XMY] Myriad | Multi-Algo, Fair, Secure on: June 07, 2020, 10:17:39 PM
Is there any interest in resurrecting the Myriad android app by Hash Engineering?

Does anyone have any coins in that app that they need to get out.  It currently doesn't work, so the coins are stuck unless you found a way to get your private keys out of it.  Yes, there is a way, but it isn't easy.

Hi,

It was always nice to have your myriadcoinj wallet, cross posted on reddit here:

I starting using this release in February.  It says it's a pre-release.  version v0.18.1.0rc1 (64-bit).  "This is a pre-release test build - use at your own risk - do not use for mining or merchant applications".
Assume it is now a full tested release.  Do I need to reload the qt?

The rc1 release of the 0.18 branch will work fine, but if you want to get rid of the warning I would recommend updating to the released version:

Hey guys! Now I checked my wallet on cryptap.us there is empty. Did i miss something? Roll Eyes Although https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ric/address.dws shows a normal balance. How to regain access to me riecoins? Thanks in advance.

You will have to import your private keys into riecoin-core with importprivkey.

Weird... But looks like mining_ric/RLG... is still producing signaling blocks (https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ric/block.dws?1124064.htm : versionHex 20000003 instead of 20000000), why?

I would suspect that that particular miner is mining with v0.16.3.0 which has a higher BIP9 threshold. That particular node would continue signalling as if CSV/segwit is not yet enabled.

New Riecoin Core Release - 0.16.3.1

A lot of efforts have been given in order to modernize the Riecoin wallet from 0.10.2 to 0.16.3. To complete the upgrade and move forward (start listing in other exchanges, improve the proof of work and beat new records, etc.), some softforks have to be enabled. However, the activation process is getting stale. Indeed, 95% of the blocks must indicate support for these forks during 12 h, which is basically impossible because of a couple of miners. Both never appeared publicly to explain why they are not upgrading.

As it is clear that the majority of the Riecoin community wants to upgrade, and as we should not be retained by those non cooperating people, we decided to lower the threshold to 77.5% (80% might still be too much, 75% a bit low as we reached 76.5% recently). The window has been increased from 12 h to 1 week to ensure a safe activation. We also want to give everyone enough time to upgrade to 0.16.3.1.
Please upgrade as soon as possible.

New miners are welcome, and additional mining power from the curent ones as well, in order to reach this 77.5% threshold and definitively make 0.10.2 a thing of the past. We can do it!
New developers are more than welcome too. Bitcoin just released 0.18.0, and Riecoin shall never be outdated again like it was in the 0.10.2 era.

You can get the latest official binaries here: https://github.com/riecointeam/riecoin/releases
No further action have to be done, other than replacing the wallet binaries and restarting it.
That said, always make sure that you have backups of your private keys.

Join our Discord server to get even more involved! https://discordapp.com/invite/2sJEayC
With some new rules in the server, invite links can now be freely shared.

Confirmed win64 sha256sum match. I added osx binaries to the release. Congrats on the build work.

Finally, if you get the opportunity, we would love to know what your coinbase
string is so we can add it to our Wiki:
https://www.dgbwiki.com/index.php?title=Pools
This will allow us to put it in to the DigiExplorer / DigiAssets explorer
later on in the year.

...

Perhaps you might find this helpful:

https://github.com/cryptapus/php-coinbase-miners

It includes many of the coinbase strings for popular pools (including miningpoolhub) and has some other small indications that are useful for tracking block version updates per pool. You can see it live for Myriadcoin here:

MPH, why are you disabling Myriadcoin's yescrypt algo? I think skein is getting dropped.
https://www.reddit.com/r/myriadcoin/comments/asv1ph/myriadcoin_01640/

Yes, you must have seen our notification. // - Myriadcoin will hardfork soon. Myriadcoin's yescrypt algo mining will be disabled after the hardfork.

To be clear, it is skein that will be disabled and argon2d4096 enabled at activation. Yescrypt will remain unchanged.

Myriadcoin 0.16.4.0 has been released (required update):

https://www.reddit.com/r/myriadcoin/comments/asv1ph/myriadcoin_01640/

Is there a date set yet for the Hardfork?  It is going to Argon2d, correct?  Just asking because I want to do a how to video/hardfork update on the project.  Thanks.

Myriadcoin has been using BIP9 mining consensus to determine when a fork will occur, therefor it is not possible to give you an exact block or date. This data can be helpful:

https://cryptapus.org/myr/myrstat/#sec3

As long as you've upgraded to v0.16.4.0 or v0.14.5.0 you can safely follow the chain as it progresses to activation.

Greetings!

A Required Update for Myriadcoin has been released:

https://www.reddit.com/r/myriadcoin/comments/asv1ph/myriadcoin_01640/

Please note, this release plans a BIP9 consensus fork that will disallow skein blocks and allow argon2d4096 blocks. Please consider updating your mining node at your earliest convenience.

Thanks for your support!

ok thanks

Thanks for your support over the years crackfoo, if you have any interest in starting an argon2d4096 pool there are a couple of other coins on this same algo (I think argentium and unitus via aux-pow). You might pick up some extra argon cpu miners.

Kind Regards,

Riecoin-core has been updated to v0.16.3.0:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=446703.msg49416523#msg49416523

Please consider updating your explorer.

Thanks for your support!

Greetings fairglu,

I noticed your RIC node is warning you now that your version is obsolete. Please consider upgrading to the above (this has happened due to majority hash on v0.16.3.0 now).

Thanks!

Some more progress on v0.16.3.0 adoption, now hovering >50%. Users of v0.10 should be getting warned to upgrade in their clients. Good progress!

Just to note that I'm observing (via getblockchaininfo) >10% of blocks are now signalling CSV/Segwit. That's a bit of progress from the last few weeks. If you're a miner and wish to try out the new version at https://github.com/riecointeam/riecoin/releases/tag/v0.16.3.0 your feedback is welcome.
