It wasn't my coin, and I don't own any, but I'll give a .1 btc token of appreciation to whoever gets PR running again in a credible way.
unobtanium testnet node (it will need to catch up...) addnode=75.19.27.27:65525
I connected to your node with the PR client. I'm on block 1739196 with a difficult of 10518. Anyone want to try mining it? node is caught up to block 172480, I see one peer at 172480 and another at 173196. You may use my node as a full node, I'll leave it open. Will probably need some hash to bring difficulty down. 1CrYPTB1o7QWc8hXqBMP2LtAJh1VMtTFBh ucrYPTxQPKkb2WTU57PjurHbCHf3rACMJh (don't need any testnet coins ) ... Testnet is moving, now at block 173492. It needs more nodes, but is unstuck. It was moving last night... addnode=75.19.27.27:65525 addnode=75.19.27.28:65525

OH shit, look at that. Looks like cyptsy got hacked. Who woulda thunk it lol... They didn't want to tell anyone because you know, they still wanted to make some money. What clowns.
THE foundation. That is all it will be called. It sounds so ominous. It isn't a bad idea though, at all. For a coin like Uno it can have great effects. It seems like a lot of work and a lot of effort though.
Hey i moved back up to 25 on the rich list! i was stuck at 26 for a while. Checked cryptsy but i emptied my account a while ago, thankfully. Who else is on the top 100? Don't be shy!
"The Foundation," ominous is right. If the market cap goes above 10 million I'll buy all of the maroon, large-hooded robes for The Foundation I'd be in the top 5 but my coins aren't concentrated in one address, so it doesn't really count. Most of them are in super-secure air-gapped brain wallets, thanks to Cryptapus for helping me with that a few months ago. Air-gapped means nothing when it comes to brainwallets. If you didn't use enough entropy it could be LESS secure than an online node. Please take a look at Electrum for UNO. You can do air-gapped properly, here's a quick (questionable production quality) tutorial for bitcoin Electrum (same applies to UNO Electrum): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQumISxkJsQOr, maybe easier, a multi-sig Electrum with a few different machines so that say 2of3 machines need to get hacked to remove coins. With that amount of funds in a brainwallet I would be cautious...

We tried to get UNO on YoBit awhile back, but their tech support said that they could not get the wallet compiled.
I'm not technical, is that legit? Or, did they just not want the coin there?
I'd love to have it on YoBit as well!
Hard to say from a distance. When I last compiled UNO on Ubuntu Linux a few months ago it was no problem. I followed the guide by siameze (thanks for that) and it just worked. BUT I had just set up a clean VM for that purpose and fetched all the specific stuff required for UNO. If they're using an existing system I guess they might run into a similar problem I did when trying to build UNO on Windows: that turned out to be a lot more complicated, mostly because it was difficult getting just the right versions of all the dependencies. If you get a wrong version of some library (too old/too new) then the build will fail. Altcoins based on bitcoin core 0.9 will require different libs than those based on 0.10 (like UNO) or 0.11 and other coin-specific changes might also come into play - that could be a problem they ran into. tl;dr: on a fresh Linux VM building the UNO client can be done in a few easy steps, but on existing setups or other OSes a lot can go wrong... Clear instructions can be found here: https://github.com/unobtanium-official/Unobtanium/blob/master/doc/build-unix.mdIf these instructions don't work it would be helpful for them to drop by for assistance. My opinion: Any exchange that can't seem to get it compiled should not be trusted with your money. They don't know what they're doing. Any exchange that is hosting wallets on a non *nix OS should be completely ignored for incompetence. And of course I'll remind you that if your coins are on an exchange they aren't your coins anymore...

... @siameze, I'd love to see Cryptapus on the dev payroll, and I am grateful to him for all of the good he has brought to Uno. He makes Uno more useful and fun with all the great stuff at https://cryptap.us/uno, and he has always given me excellent advice right when I've needed it. He has certainly earned his role as a respected community elder. ... Wait a minute, there's a payroll? Thanks for the kind words, appreciated but don't feel obligated to add me to any dev list. Besides, I may retire some day and don't want to be held accountable... Until then, feel free to play some dice and lose some coin (or get lucky, seems like the games have been loose lately)

I've heard a lot of talk about brain wallets, what about a wallet that encompasses 2FA authentication through a cell phone or email much like an exchange? Or perhaps make use of geolocation? The only possible issue with these solution would be a slight network slow down especially with geolocation I would imagine.
I do warn users on the brainwallet site that use of a brainwallet is unsafe (humans are not sufficient sources of entropy). It's arguable that I'm not explicit enough in my warning... But at least more explicit than the original brainwallet site ever was In my opinion, use an off-line generated paperwallet for long-term cold storage or multi-sig electrum with keys on a few different machines for warm wallet storage (say in a multi-sig 2of3 wallet: one machine can be compromised but if it takes 2 of 3 signatures to sign a transaction at least one more machine must be compromised to steal funds).

okay i have a bag with uis. How can i burn them into BARR?
Message us here with the amount you're burning, then send your UIS to the burn address: UMz1xPGbHGWacUUtfXefyXWVoJX9Q2kNtF This address hashes to a string of zeroes and is considered provably unspendable. Then message us with the transaction ID and your NXT address. We'll verify on the blockchain that you sent the UIS to the burn address, we'll multiply that amount by .02, and we'll send that amount of BARR to your NXT account. Don't use a NXT deposit address from an altcoin exchange, but you can use an online wallet at trade.secureAE.com. Or a desktop NXT client of course. Full details in our ANN: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1219460.0Can you please point to a clear explanation (or better yet working code) of how that address was generated? It's valid, earlz created that addresses some time ago. Just Google that address and you will find the github link Thanks, I'll take a look...

BlackSmith at YoBit told me that they are still having compiling issues. Not sure exactly what the problem is, if any knowledgeable folks here want to message him that would be cool, he said something about trying to update ubuntu and nodes but still didn't work, idk...
He did give me a refund for the 0.1 btc listing fee and said it will be free if he can get it working. That probably means that it will never get listed there but maybe if some one of you e-mails him to work out a solution it will still happen.
BitcoinCharlie: PM me a bitcoin address to send you your 0.08, or I can put a buy order for UNO at 0.004 on Cryptsy and refund you that way. UNO would be cool since I was going to use my YoBit funds for that anyway, but if you want bitcoin back that's fine.
Clear compiling instructions can be found here: https://github.com/unobtanium-official/Unobtanium/blob/master/doc/build-unix.mdHonestly, if they are having THAT much trouble, be very afraid about having any funds on their servers. Send them here to ask questions and maybe we can learn a bit more about the issue.

I think it would be best to talk about other coins in their forums.
Any discussion is better than no discussion. We gotta get the ball rolling somehow.... I think a great way to advertise would be to publish a chart showing DigiByte's emission overlayed with Myriad's. Yes. The big difference between myraid and dgb isnt the dev but that Jared and the team isn't anon like 8bitcoder and Jared managed to get 250k usd investment. Jared is also accountable if something goes wrong. Who is 8bitcoder ? 8bitcoder didn't code the last hardfork to add auxpow to sha and scrypt, change diff retarget, and stretch emission; it was done by nzsquirrell. It was eventually added to original repo by 8bitcoder, but we're not necessarily counting on a single anonymous individual. Myraidcoin had the perfect opportunity to capitalize for being the first mutli-algo solution but the developers sat on their hands and did nothing aka were most likely working on 10 other coins (anonymous advantage). I warned people months ago on this announcement thread to switch to digibyte as they were moving forward with development and Jared being a excellent marketing person with 250k USD investor. Digibyte has stolen that first status from myraidcoin and it will be hard to get back. Sigh... I don't think there has been nothing going on, quite the contrary as AUX-POW on two algos is not exactly nothing.... As stated earlier, other forums for other coins and all.. I take it as a complement that other coins want to copy Myriad, good luck with that.

It's a bit sad to see MYR doing so bad in market cap while DGB with essentially the same algos doing so good. MYR was traded at hundreds of sats initially and declined to single digits now. Any plans to improve market acceptance?
No, and that's the problem Myriad has had all along. The community is extremely reluctant to 'pump' the coin. The reality is, the best way to advertise an altcoin is still in the Announcements (Altcoins) second of bitcointalk. If people only post when it's absolutely necessary, this thread never gets bumped. Everyone sees Digibyte on the first page non-stop because its developers and their sock puppets post all day. Most people have heard of Digibyte, but not Myriad, and assume Digibyte is the original. We can fix this by having discussions... That doesn't mean talking shit, but it does mean we can lower the bar a bit. There's a lot worthy of discussion that never gets discussed here. For one thing, does anyone have any information about Digibyte's emission? Don't say it's irrelevant please, because it is useful for marketing Myriad. I think it would be best to talk about other coins in their forums. Personally, I'd rather see more Myriad trolls

Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion

The rise in the dollar price is impressive considering the dollar has also risen in the past few days.
not really... it s federal marshal's auction pump.. and who do we think is pumping it ?? i'm holding my mined coins so they can pump this as much as they want.. i'm still making money .. however, i am heavily, and i mean absolutely heavily inspired when i am butthurt. punishing me only makes me more resolved .. i been heavily inspired to write about this in my new book i am about to drop. when the federal govy pumps bitcoin to make more money from the bitcoins they confiscated yet ignore catastrophes then i think we have a problem . If you believe that the fed govt is pumping this price, NOT only are you butt hurt, you are also delusional. You can still buy and get in for under $320, which will be considered a bargain..... pumping bitcoin for marshal's auction would be a typical obama strategy..... huge money grab... just like 2014 and 2015 taxes were record breakers.. just like obamacare is a huge money grab that is now failing miserably. when u look at the past every single thing obama has done has backfired.. obamacare is now a huge mess with people dropping out not paying their premiums because they have no money cuz they are being taxed outrageously high taxes, i am NOT going to buy at 300+. as i said before I have more coins in cold storage than i have cash to buy more on the exchange.. if i buy at 300+ then the price will drop and i will lose.. i been down this road before.. instead, i will just become the enemy i have been turned into .. i'm not going to cooperate because this is not the first time this happen. this is the second time.. we didnt get evened up for the first time so we are doubling down.. should NOT have blocked my buy with that massive buy wall. that buy wall that blocked my buy is what i am upset about... and that buy wall was a bitfinex buy wall. i'm not going to make this easy and jump in at a higher price. i will just box. we'll get evened up eventually. shoulda just let me get my buy in when we were down there. thats all i was asking for. let me get my buy in. .. that did not happen because bitfinex put up a 5000 bitcoin buy wall right where my buy in was at. If your buy was armed that never would have happened

They also have 10x number of coins, a pre-mine, and have been monkeying with coin emission. I don't think Myriad has anything to worry about, scammers gonna scam... Feel free to scream from the rooftops, but it doesn't keep me up at night.
What has the number of coins got to do with anything? They claim to fairly given away their 1% premine. They have, however, monkeyed about with the coin emission. It would be nice if someone were to make a graph showing Digibyte's coin emission, overlayed with Myriad's. If you're going to talk about price, total coin count is relevant. How do you know that they didn't give their pre-mine to themselves?
