481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Everything dow today...what to buy, what to buy :) on: September 04, 2017, 06:58:57 PM
you can invest some amount in deeponion if can't or want qualify for airdrop. actually is below one dollar level but two weeks ago it was above four usd.
it is a coin (not an ico :-) ) aimed at security and privacy, with a strong and huge community. long term it will rise to dash level price in my opinion, worth to invest a little amount

eh, I got out on moral grounds.  It just didn't feel right being involved in a 'proof of shilling' distribution model which is what it was after restricting off topic and forcing users to post ten times a week in support of the coin.  As it is there are a lot of other red flags regarding that project.

482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚡ [ANN] ⚡ DeepOnion TOR Integrated ⚡ No ICO 🚀 FREE Airdrops 🚀 8th of 40 Rounds on: September 02, 2017, 05:11:19 AM

If you banned through coin control error - write a post in a banned support! You will be reviewed and 99% whitelisted Wink

Mine was not.  The reviewer said that the block explorer showed only 76% of my coins in the original address which was wrong.  It seems the block explorer was lagging for almost a day.  I had made only two transactions of 30 coins each and sent the change back to the original address leaving 627/687 coins.

They are now ignoring my request to double check due to the block explorer issues.

I am very sad.  I was excited about this coin and trying to do what I could to help out - I even offered to look over the crawling script to help them optimize it as I not only am a software developer but spend time optimizing my own code and have actually made crawlers.

I may be persistent, and may be annoying at times, but I really should not have been blacklisted.

Sad

*sigh*

My request to be whitelisted again was refused because the block explorer still showed an incorrect balance.  It took a good part of a day for the change from coin control to show up after sending it back.  I only made two 30 coin transactions after recieving 687 but even after sending the change back the block explorer only showed a 72% balance.

Hopefully this will get fixed.  I am worried that so many bans, especially for technical difficulties such as an incorrect block explorer, will lead to too much dumping at this stage.  Fortunately the coin has enough utility that recovery should follow but too much dumping might scare off some investors.

ur sig is incorrect. it may be a reason for ban.

Thanks for the heads up, but the reason they gave was being over my ten percent.  When I checked the block explorer later that day the wrong amount was listed and did not reflect sending 'change' back to the original wallet address after making two small transactions.  Hopefully can get back in next week...  I do like the coin.

I want to help out more other than the signature campaign but are unsure what they need.  I am a software engineer by trade.  Any suggestions from the community?  Wallet development might be nice.

I am trying to establish a schedule again now that I am in jobs.

Right now I am mostly bouncing around between playing the coin game, personal projects, finding employment, playing games, cooking, cleaning and chores, reading, interacting with my partner, meeting basic needs, and sleeping.
486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WOLF] Project WOLF on: August 29, 2017, 08:31:36 PM
Someone really should start a new game like Project WOLF.  That game (and yin/yang) were fun times.
Anything similar going on in the coin world?
487  Other / Off-topic / Re: Healthy Diet on: August 29, 2017, 06:08:55 PM
Everyone is different - people react differently to different diets so you have to try what works for you.  Some people have allergens, some people have sensitivities, some people can't deal with nuts or seeds, etc.

In general though:

Carbs are essential but ones with a low glycemic index (break down slower) are healthier.   Squash, oats, brocolli, etc.

Get enough lean protein.  Chicken, fish, etc.

Eat healthy fats.  There is nothing wrong with certain fats.  Our body needs them.  Nuts and seeds, olive oil, coconut oil, etc

Get plenty of fiber.  Whole grains, fibrous fruits and vegetables, etc

Eat nutrient dense food.

Drink plenty of water.

Keep a healthy gut bacteria colony.  Yogurt, etc.

Eat health and stay active and you will lose weight.  Slow and steady and effective.  Starving yourself will only crash your metabolism.

I would also suggest weight training along with cardio.  Both have their place and can really kick your body into fat burning mode.

One little rx480 mining ether at around 24mh/s when I am not gaming.

I was getting a couple bucks a day the last time I checked.

Sold my old mining rig a couple years ago when everything crashed and right now ather invest than set up another real rig,
but I am thinking about it. I would go with a 5 X 1070 setup.

They are old, but you can't go wrong with any of the final fantasies

Best ones are ff7, 8, 9, 10. Think now they are on number 6000....

And FF6 (FF3 in North America).

That shit is so nostalgic to play and still one of my favorites.

I love the final fantasy series.  I like role playing games with hidden characters.  I will get bored if a game doesn't have too many secrets.  These days too many games outline what to do and where to go and there is little exploration.

It is one of the reasons I loved Lunar The Silver Star, secrets.

I am currently playing 'Pillars of Eternity' on the PC.  It is relatively new and plays like the old Baldur's gate style games but with more things to do and paths to take and some new mechanics.
I highly recommend it for people who like overhead turn based strategy rpgs.  It takes awhile to discover all of the mechanics but has been a good game.

491  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is Your Plan for the Future? on: August 24, 2017, 05:04:13 PM
Finish my thesis.  Get my masters.  Do freelance work for awhile and side projects and build up a portfolio on github.  At the same time apply for interesting jobs, slowly widening the scope.
Eventually get hired.
Move.  Work hard.  Get married.  Have children.
Die happy feeling accomplished.

While not always appropriate, mnemonics can be great for memorizing lists and sequences.

To this day I remember things from school where I used a mnemonic such as the reactivity table in chemistry, the geological ages, or written japanese.

They help us create connections, and the more absurd the story the better.
493  Other / Off-topic / Re: what will you do when you are in a bad mood? on: August 23, 2017, 05:01:43 PM
First of all reduce your vulnerability to bad moods:  Get sleep, address physical problems, eat well, get exercise, and abstain from drugs and alcohol, etc
Second learn distress tolerance skills for dealing with stress:  find meaning in the pain, deep breathing, self soothing, half-smiling (triggers a physiological response), visualization, etc
Third learn to become mindful of and regulate your emotions:  if your fear something approach it rather than avoid it, if you are angry with someone communicate your anger in effective ways or accept what happened and then move on, if you are sad then engage in 'opposite to emotion' action such as watching a happy movie, etc
Fourth engage in positive activities daily to 'charge yourself' with positive mood:  walk, paint, sing, dance, have sex, etc
Finally learn to practice 'radical acceptance'.  You have to accept what has happened in the past and where you are currently.  If you are in prison or your wife leaves you then you must eventually accept it.  This takes practice and conscious effort.  Fake it until you make it if you must.

494  Other / Off-topic / Re: In all profession, who has the most important work in our society? on: August 23, 2017, 04:43:30 PM
This is like asking which leg of a three legged table is least important.  Removing any of a number of vital jobs would have dire consequences - fortunately their removal would not lead to the collapse of society altogether so we must ask the loss of which would cause the most instability.

We can still learn without teachers, people self educate and homeschool all the time.  Tradesmen could still pass on their trade.
Many would starve without farmers but we can still feed ourselves through home gardening, fishing, hunting, and so on.
The loss of police would lead to widespread crime and havoc but self organization would occur.  The police would lose power but someone else would gain it.
Losing doctors would truly suck.

I am going to go with epidemiologists.  We would be screwed if we lost them.  They stop the spread of so many diseases, for example malaria the other year.  With globalization the rate of disease is more than ever.
At least people know to wash their hands without them.

495  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do You Waste Your Life On The Internet? on: August 23, 2017, 04:31:01 PM
Nope,

I also waste my life reading books, watching tv, hanging out with family and friends, working, writing, cleaning, cooking, and a multitude of other "wasteful" things.

496  Other / Off-topic / Re: I hate google recaptcha with this pushing pictures. Ohhh!!! Help! on: August 21, 2017, 06:24:47 PM
It is pretty neat how they are using the captcha system to learn as well as verify.  For example when they show you two addreses and you have to type in the numbers - the computer knows one of them and uses it to verify you are not a computer but it doesn't know the other.  It uses your (and others) input to learn about the other one and update its database.  This is why you are seeing more captchas having you solve more than one thing.

How many hours is left for airdrop to happen?
We are at the moment trying to crawl signatures lets keep the fingers crossed then we will start post counting. It may take 6-12 hours we can complete may be earlier all depend on BCT servers performance

Dev
If the team had some issues for crawling or counting
I would sugesst that you post a reward . I believe the community can work together to fix up.

a reward for fixing a bitcointalk.org problem? i dont think it works that way..

I wouldn't mind taking a look at their crawler..  Often crawling scripts can be optimized, even if BCT has been rather slow lately.
498  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Selling ideas on: August 18, 2017, 01:32:12 AM
There are many great ideas, and sometimes it comes out of the "idea guy", That guy that thinks he has a great idea, but don't have any money or anything to start it. This stereotype wants someone to develop and publish whatever his idea is, and take a large cut of all the income, just for the idea. Well that ain't gonna work. If you have a great idea that requires programming, but you don't have the skills, I recommend you to either learn the skills needed, or HIRE someone (yes for actual money). If you have a very good friend he might agree to do it and work together, but it can get quite hard, believe me I've been there myself.

You are right, it is not enough just to have a good idea, you need to be able to design it correctly. Many people can not do this and because of this our world is deprived of many ingenious inventions

This is so true.

There are so many people with 'great ideas'.  There are likely millions of these 'great ideas'.  Often people think they have come up with a 'great idea' because it sounds so good when in fact it is likely average as great ideas go.  I have three ideas for 'killer apps' right now that I am sure would do great.  (I am working on one right now.  Not crypto related)

The hard work is not coming up with a great idea but putting the time and effort into turning it into a product and then marketing it.  'Great ideas' rarely amount to anything because of this.

Because of the massive amount of work that goes into engineering and marketing the 'idea guy' should only get a small percent of the company, maybe 10 or 20% at most, rather than the other way around.  The developer and marketer should get at least equal share in the company.

Thus if you go out and try to find a developer to make your idea a reality and someone to help you market it, please don't say to them "I will give you 5% of my company and I get 95% because it was my idea".   Just don't do this.  It is insulting and it is not fair.

499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [activity]Mine tokens by forum account, claim your tokens now.[Waves] on: August 17, 2017, 06:10:54 PM
My opinion is:  if you are trying to make money by doing an air drop with the hope of gaining interest in your coin and then selling your coin on an exchange your coin needs to have some utility beyond just 'being free'.

I would advise the dictionary approach to generating ideas - look up random words in the dictionary and try to connect that word to the concept of 'useful coins' until something is triggered.

And then rather than pump and dumping the new useful coin try to actually find ways of profiting off of it while at the same time ensuring it's long term survival and overall prosperity.  You will make more money this way than a quick and easy scheme.

As it is you are unlikely to get it listed and if you do there the price is unlikely to go up unless the coin has utility - no matter how many free coins you give out.

Now that my opinion is posted I will take some of your free coins and add them to my bag collection.
500  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many off topic posts do you think are posted to increase profile activity? on: August 17, 2017, 04:47:37 PM
Just 1 time post alone is enough because per 2 weeks we can only 14 activities can not be more

It is the minimum of active weeks X 14 and the total number of posts.  So you would have to post at least once a day in order to maximize your activity score.  Don't need to do that myself as my number of posts are well above my activity score from arguing with scammers so much the other year.

A lot of the off topic posts seem made to meet this minimum or to meet signature campaign requirements *looks below at his signature briefly and back up nervously*.  I don't see this much activity in the off topic section of other forums where profile activity scores are not as important.

It is easier to post in the off topic section than actual bitcoin and altcoin threads because the topics are ones people relate to.  It is way easier to state your favorite type of music than to come up with an original contribution to threads discussing coin dynamics and development every single day.   I am assuming that a number of topics are created and answered by individuals with 'puppet accounts'.  At least it keeps some of the noise out of the serious threads, improving the signal to noise ratio..
