If uPLexa continues the way it evolves right now, I have no doubt there will be succes in the next 5-10 years. The key to this succes is finding the niche for IoT mass adoptable tech. And since there are great ideas within
the team (and actually being carried out), great ideas being vented by the community here and in the other channels, and the team is obviously willing to listen to those ideas, we'll be allright. But it is really a chicken and egg story: there need to be demand for the project to thrive. And it's our job and the team's to find that market and supply the solution.
That said the web advertising is interesting: it could be a booster to get the upx-story and tech into the world as well, marketingwise. If you can only find one or two companies with a great reach it should really help a lot.
Let's hear some more about it..

Interesting idea Dmitri129, physical coins and gold in the bank! However if I understand it correctly you prefer UPX to be a store of value, right? This is what Quantumleaper (main dev uPlexa) said in telegram: I disagree. Investor speculation doesnt mean much of anything in crypto anymore. Bogus/useless partnerships and chasing exchange listings is what projects did to build hype, and it worked. Things are getting real now, and the same gross tactics are no longer working (sometimes the occasional spike/p&d). Our marketing plans will be based around PlexaNet, UNApps, and the dVPN. We will focus on utility and building an internal economy rather than focusing on building an external economy. Because right now, even the top 10 cryptos are barely being used. It's mostly just speculative BS. I didn't start this project for those reasons, I want our software to be used. Thus O think privacy applications and services built on top of uPlexa as layer 2 services will provide both more functionality, something we could all use, and something that makes sense to use UPX for. How would your physical coin relate to building an internal economy with UPX as driving force? |

The charging companies probably don't like the idea that the transactions are anonimous, since they have to report to a tax agency/government.
I am interested to know what idea's the uPlexa team themselves have about the implementation of UPX. And I don't mean the toaster, consoles, phone and stuff. I think their position on those is already quite clear, but I mean implementation in the bigger picture, like the aforementioned charging stations, green energy projects etc. With Steadfast Storm approaching they have other things on their mind right now, but some vision (apart from ecommerce) regarding this must have been looked at the last year.. I thought something was mentioned in the white paper as an exemple. But the anonimity of the whole UPX story makes it -in my opinion- very hard to get partnerships with serious bussinesses.

In the past there was a bounty for creating a miner for XBox. Which type of IoT device do you think is most suitable for mining? I am still thinking Tesla  But any other IoT device that can keep cool enough during mining and not burn down should do. But, now is the time to get the systems ready for mass implementation. It is not yet the time for viable IoT mining on other devices than smartphones. But when it is doable in say 5 years (due to technical advancements) everything from the blockchain to the underlying (infra)structure, support etc, must be ready to integrate UPX asap on the devices that are fit for purpose then. This IS the time to get the technical stuff lined up and create some sort of plug and play thing for those devices. And in the meantime building up usecases on ecommerce. |

On the topic of decentralization and UPX listing on bisq. Here is a resource Komodo released, obviously biaaed but raises great points on what to look out for but since bisq isnt compared i wonder if we can reach out to them to see how they fair against the competition...? https://komodoplatform.com/decentralized-exchange/Yes, interesting indeed. What I take away from it is that DEX's are not yet simple enough for the general audience. To much hassle to get from one currency to another, moving in and out of wallets, take to many steps compared to the monetary system we use today. Other then that there, to the potential cryptonewbies there is no sense of urgence to change to crypto. As long as there is no other incentive, like the easy money in the bullrun 2017, they will stay away from it and explosive growth is not going to happen. this is our bet, there are too many differences between what is necessary do and what we can do... for example why in this epoch there are people without food and city with a food in excess to finish in junk, or why we continue buy petrol for our car when there are alternative, why we pay electricity if there are solutions for free energy... and finally why we continue use dollar or euro with an infinite supply certaily devalueble in time? because we aren't free, we cannot live outside the system... we are slave to unusefull things, i see the entier cryptospace like the most revolutionary method to take our freedom back...
for reply at your question i think that accessibily/easy to use is the key for reach the masses... decentralization/privacy is the necessity for be free.

I cannot explain it, but it's a fact. The only difference is the slightly lower network difficulty.
But it is not that low either.
Has anyone else observed almost same mining results after the fork compared to before it? I stopped mining right at the fork, will give it a try. |

Ok, halving is complete! Fee reduction by more than 5 times, that's all good news! Congrats uPlexa team for making that happen!
Price action has not followed yet, remains the same as before halving. I consider that a good thing for now, since I can get more Utility Nodes for a bargain price:-)
Anyone thinking the price will increase towards Steadfast Storm? Or only after the roll-out of the e-commerce part and getting a real usecase?

With current market conditions it is indeed a cheap lottery ticket. Techwise the project will just continue along it's path, and adjusting to new idea's and circumstances. A path along which there are many hurdles. Right now the team has taken a lot of hurdles already very succesfully. I have a lot of faith in the project.
With the Utility Nodes coming up: what exactly is it's purpose for the decentralisation of the project? Will the nodes owners have some sort of (extra) voting power on future developments, or is there no connection?

Yeah, I have a lot of faith in the development party: this was posted on Discord and Telegram by the lead developer 'Quantemleaper': QuantumLeaper, [26.10.19 16:35]
Somebody was asking about pricing on Discord and what I think about the current valuation. If anybody else is wondering, here is my answer:
Would I like to see a fair evaluation of our project? Absolutely. But I am not dependent on this. If I were to be dependent on our price, our project would cease to exist.
I do plan on eventually being rewarded for my hard fork, considering I value my time at ~$240/hour and am not just investing time, but also money into this project.
However, my main intentions is creating software and services that we very much need in this world. To create awareness of privacy based issues
and to help avoid censorship and supression.
The way I see it, there's one of two options for UPX to really "moon" and stabalize at a fair valuation, which we are extremely extremely far from.
#1) A true alt market kicks off after bitcoin goes parabolic again (but this isn't consistent)
#2) To create an internal economy by bringing users in to buy and UTILIZE (huge emphasis on utilize) UPX for unique, original, or viable purposes.
This would be like having apps on our services that require UPX to use (UNApps anyone?).
If you take a look at MANA and DICE, you can see their price movements are completely independent of the typical alt market.
This is because they have a solid use case that is explored by those who are not just speculative traders.
It's my opinion that the first option is a huge gamble, and not worth the risk if that is why people are buying. It's our job as a community to show what blockchain can do, not to just invest and "hodl". Unfortunately, that mentality is extremely harmful to both the technologies and peoples involved within this industry. to me it's clear that this team will do everything in it's power to succeed, and bring blockchain and uPLexa to the masses. |

Stack away those UPXs, they'll come around and come around big, although it might take some time. I don't get it. It's almost like people don't want to see the potential of this project and keep selling.
Indeed gives me more flesh on the bone for my retirementplans;-) I think the devs are more dedicated than ever so good news (pricewise) will come once it is the right time..

I agree price is something to worry about, when bitcoin was a few pennies worth, nobody noticed. It came under attention of the public due to it's price. But it took btc some years to mature, and so will uPlexa. I won't go this far to say UPX will be priced like btc, but we really need to give it some time to mature, and just get the project growing, indeed Tybiboune with partnerships, working payment modules and stuff.
See these current prices as opportunities for building your stack, because the time of higher prices will come for sure.

Why is it a bad thing the halving scares the miners away? When the big miners go and leave us with half the hashrate, the smaller miners still get a lot of the coins. Big boys will come back eventually, when the project sees growth and adoption.

The price is an absolute bargain right now! If you have any interest at all (you are here, reading this after all) you should read in on the project and at least consider investing. The idea is great and the (small but very efficient) team delivers all the time. Compare that to other small cap projects and you can spot the difference.. Do I need to mention the WORKING mobile miner again?! Androidminer is available and the miner for Apple devices is almost ready.

A 100 nodes? Is it optimal number of nodes, or just a number? What if more than 100 people want to buy a node? The number 100 was an example for calculating the pay-out amount, not a optimum or a minimum as far as I know. Btw what happens with your payout when your connection quits a few minutes or even hours? |

What will be the max supply of the physical coin? If it's low it could be a great investment for the future when uPlexa finally takes off! Imagine uPlexa being on Coinmarketcap with two coins! UPX en UPhysicalX.

that'd be awesome i'd love that so much just ready to start up you're own node with barely any experience. also it'd cost like $500-1000 to actually sell And with the price action that's going on right now, the utility nodes are getting cheaper and cheaper.
