------- IMPORTANT Cube Prep ----------

It is imperative that you perform the following tasks upon receipt of your cube as some shifting has likely occurred during shipping from China.

1) Open the unit up and tighten the 4 heatsink screws on each blade. If there's a loose screw inside of the case, odds are it's missing from a heatsink. Don't ignore loose screws or throw them away!
2) Line the blades up in the upper rails of the case.

Notes:
When putting the cube back together, make sure to guide the red status led into the small hole on the fan side faceplate. If disregarded, it could possibly bend back and break off.

When tuning your cube, do not hit the browser refresh button after changing clock speed. The unit will cycle back and forth between clock speeds with each refresh of the SW_CLOCK page. Instead, use the UI's refresh button located at the bottom left of the screen.

Suggestions:

BFGMiner is a great application for running multiple cubes in one easy interface. However, I have found that it comes with a slight decrease in performance on cubes and Blades. If you are not seeing your cubes performing to their full potential, I suggest trying Slush's stratum proxy:

http://mining.bitcoin.cz/mining-proxy-howto

If you are experiencing performance loss when connecting many cubes or blades to one instance of Slush's stratum proxy, I suggest running multiple instances on separate ports.

Setup Guide:

I highly recommend Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup guide

Good news, my shipper has received a delivery from ASICMiner and I'm told there were no breathing holes! I'll be creating a new sale thread shortly after I receive details on the shipment.

Need to slap those guys around a bit. Haven't you been waiting on word for a week already?

Haha, no way man. Mess with friedcat and you're likely to get a very quick shipment. Unfortunately, it's going to be a box filled to the brim with nunchaku laden little people.

Seriously though, I think the cat is very busy with third gen, but I hope he's got another batch heading my way soon. I'll keep trying fellas.

ya got anymore?

Not yet, still waiting on word of shipment. I'll update the thread when I hear something.

Nice setup visdude, thanks for posting pics. I'm still trying to secure a 3rd batch and will let everyone know when I have word on shipment.

Are you running it against bfgminer or slush's stratum proxy? I've found cubes/blades don't seem to run as well against the bfgminer implementation. Also, both proxies don't handle multiple units very well. Test out your cube on its own instance of slush's stratum proxy and see if you get different results.

I like that calculator, thanks for sharing General.

If you are interested in waiting until December 30th, you can get BFL's version with the same chips(possibly on long boards) for $11.875k(13.45 BTC)

For those of you ready to start mining now, we have a few Sunzis left.

200-220gh/s(220 if you live somewhere really cold like the general) rack mountable miner for 6.6 BTC

4.25 is more reasonable as that is what the Antminer S1 is selling for at this time.https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=364342.0 The antminer has the same hash rate as 6 chilis, takes up less space and uses less power, and are currently shipping.

I'd be in for one Sunzi @ 4.25-4.5. The antminer doesn't come with a power supply.

the antminer is an awesome system, i own two. and if 4.25BTC is 'fair' for that (I think 3.75BTC would be ideal), then a sunzi cannot be worth more than 4.00BTC considering it draws about 2x the wattage, even if it comes with a PSU

Price is firm. Sunzi comes with 1300 watt power supply and custom built rack mountable frame.

Anyone receive their "Cryoniks Frostbit" 10th/s liquid nitrogen cooled miner with advanced led lighting yet?
933  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [OPEN] 200 gh/s "Sunzi Miner"(Rack Mountable)- 6.6 BTC on: December 12, 2013, 06:14:21 AM
That's prob a bit more accurate than mining.genesisblock, which assumes never ending exponential growth. I'm still not sure we'll be adding a billion difficulty per month per jump by May but I'd say that's a worst case. In that event, 6 months break even is nothing to scoff at.

Here's a link for some of you folks looking for more traditional investments. Wink "Zions Direct" is offering a 1% 6 month CD with $10k minimum deposit.

Value of Bitcoin doesn't make a difference. If Bitcoin is worth $10,000 next month, you still paid 6.6 BTC for a Sunzi which would get you
.1107 BTC per 24 hours at today's difficulty
.0914 per 24 hours at 1.1 Billion
.0745 per 24 hours at 1.35 Billion

Now I'm not saying that those are the next 2 difficulties, I have no idea how many companies are going to hit their targets. That would put you at half payoff in a little over a month though.
935  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [OPEN] 200 gh/s "Sunzi Miner"(Rack Mountable)- 6.6 BTC on: December 12, 2013, 05:16:35 AM
man, Id love to grab another sunzi but given the latest diff increase and a week of previous diff, made all the difference in the world between a fair pricepoint original 6.9btc and the now ripoff price of 6.6btc....
Id offer 4btc for a sunzi...

Come on now General, I know you didn't make 2.9 BTC in the last week. Now drop and give me 50.

In all seriousness, this is still a great deal. I wish I bought a pre-order Jupiter a few months ago and I wish I bought a few thousand bitcoins when they were worth a few pennies. You can't invest in the past, but you can still invest in the future.
936  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [OPEN] 200 gh/s "Sunzi Miner"(Rack Mount)- 6.6 BTC on: December 11, 2013, 11:55:46 PM
Sunzis and Chilis are back in stock. Free shipping to continental US.

Same price?

How many available?

Lowered to 1.10 BTC per chili, 6.6 BTC per Sunzi

I'll post when we're running low.

Interested. I just want to know if all will be fine when/if I buy it

Battery has been dead for quite some time and I'm not going to buy a new one just to test it. Basically giving it away at .015. Sold as is.
939  Economy / Goods / Re: .015 BTC - Underwater Digital camera on: December 11, 2013, 04:50:29 PM
It was top of the line in it's time. 3.2 megapixels is nothing these days though. The cool thing is the underwater housing.

I had a quad 5970 GPU rig ("The Minecart") back in the day running at about 1110 watts and plugged into a killawatt at all times. When I finally retired the machine, I realized the constant current had completely melted the plastic around the killawatt outlet. I'm always a little hesitent to go over 80% of any electrical component limits especially when running constant. Is that a 20 amp circuit you have those 5 cubes plugged into herener? Be careful out there...
