"I think Obyte has a sh!tloads of technology, and if the world was fair, it would have higher value. And I don't think the world is fair. And I don't think adding extra technology would help. Your only chance is marketing chance and even then... It's hard right now." ~ Richard Heart on Obyte Podcast https://obyte.fireside.fm/richard-heart?t=9018
imo distribution killed this project. Even if you put aside lisk, waves, iconomi, comodo. Bitcoin actually had the similar task - how to distribute coins. From the scratch subsidy for miners is not the way, they should earn from fees. Fair economy, without government subsidy shit. But then Satoshi still had to distribute coins. So he just put it in coinbase reward. But he could airdrop all btc in the same way as Tony did, just with some other methods. Maybe, maybe Tony should have done the same. Start with pow and subsidy, and move to witnesses over time. Maybe this would create stronger community, who know. I understand Tony's decision to go with distribution, it’s fair and it seems you are doing everything right to create a community. But that did not work. While some pow coins managed to create somewhat ok communities. Perhaps there would be more candidates on witnesses, more transparency. But this is only a version, the crypto is dying and small projects like obyte are at the forefront of this process.
Well, yes, I understand that I said stupidity, because there is no need pow for obyte and even if you want to, it’s unlikely to be realized. But the distribution was unsolved issue then. Whel he could airdrop it to vc investors like vitalik did, but this is no easier task than the rest

In the meantime all time low reached yesterday: 0.00178 BTC per GB.

Buy when there's blood on the street?
Or harbinger of further decline?

Can't be helped. The whole altcoin industry is largely abandoned by speculators and long time investors. The herd will go to where the herd will go. During these times, you will know which developers stuck around even when the financial gain is actually negative.

Is 2019-2020 any different from 2015-2016?
dotcom bubble? never heard). Crypto is in the same condition as dotcom companies without legit business. Only idiots continue to hope for a new bubble in this area)

How exactly are those idiots wrong this time and were not wrong last time? When BTC gets back at ATH, all those non-idiot rational "investors" will be back FOMOing empty promises on white papers because they are unable to make a difference between turd and gem. Next time is not going to be any different, it will probably happen much quicker and percentage-wise not as much, but it will happen no matter how deep in denial you are.
haha keep dreaming, will ping you after another 2 year of endless dump)

Same with bytes as stablecoin collateral, can't sell the collateral if nobody makes a stablecoin that requires bytes for collateral.
course who builds a house on a crappy foundation

Those who don't listen to whiners FUD, but actually build something because they can see the potential and they have learnt how Obyte really works.
Already 6 rounds of developer contest done with new features on TESTNET, 1 more to go, but you still spreading pathetic FUD.
https://medium.com/obyte/sixth-round-of-obyte-autonomous-agents-developer-contest-6aa89bedd712
nobody builds a stable coin there

Maybe the cryptospace doesn't need any more stablecoins, many exchanges already have multiple. Especially, no need for more stablecoins, where you need to trust someone (Tether, Libra) or which require lot of collateral (Maker DAI).
There has been much more interesting ideas on developers contest than yet another stablecoin.
bro, even if someone wanted to create stablecoin on obyte, they would not do this because of problems with liquidity. Stablecoin must have a liquid collateral, otherwise the whole system will collapse after the first dump. Before writing stupid answers, understand how the collateral system works, what is liquidation and how its triggered

Anybody can make stablecoin collateralized with bytes on Obyte
bytes is illiquid asset. You can't use it as collateral, because if you need to liquidate it, you will crash the market and cause liquidation of the rest collateral. Your stable currency will crash like a house of cards

Sports oracle has been updated to work with Autonomous Agents.  Now it can be requested to trigger an AA of your choice.  The AA, in turn, can process a payout to the winner of the bet, thus making it unnecessary to manually claim the winnings.  This is just one example of what an AA can do, developers are welcome to come up with other ideas and participate in the contest.

We believe that the retention rates could be improved by having more apps on the platform that the users would engage with and extract value from.
LOL two years later you heard us. Too late tony

Where have you been living? Under the rock? Obyte has been all the time "we need more adoption". There has been always been more tools available than anybody could need, now there is even more.
users don't need your tools, they need apps. Apps better than other places can offer

No sh!t, and who are doing these apps? Developers. This latest update is specially for them, so they can build more decentralized apps by doing more on-chain.
Are you now saying that you have been telling we need more developers on Obyte all the time and nobody hasn't listened you?
you have no funding anyway, good luck searching for enthusiasts

What are you talking about FUDster? Just because we didn't do ICO doesn't mean we don't have funding. Did you even read any of the announcement posts or you just spread your FUD without even reading what the update was about https://medium.com/obyte/obyte-autonomous-agents-developer-contest-6a67ae3dacd2
check gbyte price, your coins almost worthless. What about talented developers developing really necessary things and not useless crafts? We are sick of it.

$16.159.762 is almost worthless?  Shocked You must be rich as f... if you consider 16 million dollar worthless.

But besides that: What are some "really necessary things" that a coin needs, that this coin does not have? Note the difference: That is necessary for a coin, not a thing that you want to have!
1. cap != money, cap = latest price x supply
2. obyte team don't own most of this supply
this coin does not have use case, investment attractiveness, decentralization
