363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Possible to have two algorithms? on: October 03, 2014, 02:09:12 AM
How many multiple algorithm coins are out there now?

It would most likely never be possible, but imagine a multi algo coin that used...

SHA 256- Support network via ASIC
Scrypt - Support network via ASIC
X11 - Support network via FPGA and GPU
BLAKE 256 - Support network via FPGA and GPU
Cryptonote - Support network via CPU / GPU
Momentum - Support network via CPU / GPU

It would be perfectly balanced from a mining perspective. You may say im a dreamer, but im not the only one

364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Neos reach $5 when V2 is released? on: October 03, 2014, 01:57:19 AM
This one has a long ways to go before it hits anywhere near $5.
365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Final [BOOLBERRY] Rebrand Vote - Ends Sept. 30th on: September 30, 2014, 01:52:31 AM
When I first heard the name BoolBerry, I thought it was terrible. Also, when I first heard of Bitcoin I thought the exact same thing...

I never thought I would use the word 'Bitcoin' in a conversation, and now it happens on a fairly frequent basis. In regards to BoolBerry, it just sounds so damn ridiculous when you say it out loud, but it really does roll of the tongue nicely. I cant say that its the best name in the world, but I think its significantly better than the other name being considered. Additionally the ticker BBR, just clicks for me.

Worry about rebranding if / when all crypto becomes mainstream. Keep making the coin better and everything else will fall into place.
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero mining pool New Monero Miner, 20% more efficient than the Claymore on: September 29, 2014, 01:25:35 PM
Anyone care to share their opinions on this new miner vs claymores? Is it a completely new miner coded from the ground up, or is it just hacked together from existing projects? Also, is it hardcoded to this pool like the MoneroRS miner or can it be used at any cryptonote pool? Thanks in advance.
367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: $0.98/Mh/s scrypt at 6.4W, on ancient 50nm process? plausible? on: September 29, 2014, 10:54:08 AM
The links you quoted are in relation to SHA256, not Scrypt. I don't think anyone has attempted a Scrypt FPGA simply because the ASIC route is significantly faster and more efficient. The only coins people are using FPGA units on now are X11 and Blake256 algo based coins.

372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ypool on: September 27, 2014, 02:35:23 PM
YPOOL is one of the best, most diverse pools out there IMO. With that being said, if you plan on CPU mining your only option there (feasibility wise) would be Riecoin ,and thats only because there is no public GPU miner available. All other coins on the pool, now have GPU mining clients which make CPU mining all but obsolete.

CPU mining is all but dead to the average miner, unless you're operating a botnet there is no way you will ever come out ahead profitability wise regardless of pool / coin. Anywho, good luck wih your mining endeavors!
373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Insignificance of Altcoins? Potential? Mass adoption? Really? on: September 26, 2014, 09:35:40 PM
Some altcoins are VERY innovative, and bring a lot to the the table versus BTC. The vast majority however, only serve as a vehicle to gain or lose BTC.

376  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS][UK] 3 Antminer S1 + 1250w Psu on: September 26, 2014, 01:28:47 AM
Regarding price:

I called it a 'fire sale' here when 4 S1's sold for $100 with a PSU plus shipping, that was crazy. I bought my first S1 for 0.135 shipped ($55 USD at the time) and I thought it was a damn good deal. I'd say that $65-75 USD shipped per unit is a fair deal at the moment.

The S1's can still turn a profit, and its a very well built machine. Anyways, good luck with your sale man!

378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XMR] vs [BBR] - Fight!! - CryptoNote War on: September 26, 2014, 12:57:07 AM
Smoke was such a better character in the Mortal Kombat games. If Smoke was XMR, and BBR was Sub Zero, depending how the fight ends; THIS could potentially happen...

I've sold cars, household items, computer parts and bitcoin miners, but I have never attempted to sell any cryptocurrency there.
