11  Economy / Economics / Re: Learning from Imperial Rome on: February 20, 2014, 02:22:05 PM
Well i notice you look on problem... hmy, from rather diferent point of view then most of people. Even though it is intereting to read, I haven't heared about most fo this stuf stil im rather sure we can't just take random information, place it next to subject we are interested into and force any kind of conclusions. If they are or wrong we set aside and just continue our analyses without proper look back, since after awhile we might notice we are just weasting our time. Besides when it comes to currency i think Bisantium history is much more interesting. More intervention and more dynamic situations, not to mention there were actualy few possibility when it comes to usage of different coins.
12  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price at end of 2014? on: February 20, 2014, 02:09:58 PM
I don't think there is place for speculation any way. I am expecting over time bitcoin shall be more stable to the point of total stagnation. Other currencies, well thats other kind of problem. There are more place for speculation there. Besides it is hard to tell what new powers shall try to get on bitcoin market. China tried  something, other countrys might try too. Maybe some country with less stable financial situation might try use more endure option for sudden changes of market. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if people finally lose they confidence in dollar and might try something else. Investment in gold is dull and not always profitable. Even though with minimal risk gold and diamonds value always were artificial in some way.
13  Economy / Economics / Re: Student Dissertation Survey on Crypto - Please Help! on: February 20, 2014, 01:59:20 PM
Interesting idea but at current state it is hard to tell if you can use any of macro-economy knowledge we have for creating any analyses about bitcoin and other variations. Her peers might encounter some problems to even determines if things she would be writing were true or not. It is hard to tell if there is any specialist related to meta-currencies on her university. I hope she wont encouter any problems related tosuch dificult problem, especialy since she can't use any more traditional sources of knowledge then internet.
14  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: February 20, 2014, 01:52:07 PM
So from what i understand people can take part in such... hmy.... lottery and they can get TGC for it. Also you want to fund it from ads, even though can you really expect big enought traffic to generate such income ? Since it is kinda easy to count down, depend on what ads service you are using. On other hand larger traffic of ... hmy ... customers might actualy lower for them chances of winning and then people might get discouraged.
15  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Pizza for bitcoins? on: February 20, 2014, 01:38:31 PM
Well recently i have seen more and more diferent services provided for bitcoins. Pizza for bitcoins, such articles i saw fewmonhts ago, actualy it were more about pizza being both for ammount of bitcoins for today price of few milions (did i write it right ?). Definitly there is future in it. Not to mention payments in bitcoins feets perfectly for any kind of onlin shoping. Meta-currency for meta-grocery ?  Sounds about right. It is actually even more interesting when you buy stuf at diferent country and would be force to pay for exchange of traditional currencys any way. Not to mention bitcoin value changes aren;t more dynamic then other posible options.
16  Economy / Marketplace / Re: List of honest traders. on: February 20, 2014, 01:27:16 PM
Perhaps someone should establish a wiki posting of trusted resources?  A wiki page that is limited in users that can edit it for extra precaution
Wiki might not work for that becouse first somehow you must decide who would be the users, it might eather creat way too big group of people with easy way to get in and spoil any important data or isolated community with lack of new, fresh and impotent entries. Modern market are changing in great speed every day so we cabt put ourselfes into small chamber with no dors, witch would be closed group on such wiki.

Ofcourse there is nothing that would stop any one from creating such option for others, but i personally would rather ignore such option.
17  Economy / Economics / Re: Deflatory nature of Bitcoin - the problem and a possible solution on: February 20, 2014, 01:18:15 PM
Deflation never worked well for normal currency's. Right now base on rather limited data it is hard to tell how would metacurrencys react to more excesive actions of larger groups with aim of deflation of them (if i am describing it in right way). Inflation even though look terible in long run might creat more natural environment for future meta-monetary markets.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anonymity on: February 20, 2014, 12:17:02 PM
Important part are not why you buy but what are you buying. Even though anonymity is never perfect, stil it might be less likely to get abused by someone. Our personal data are very important and we should defend them at all cost. Moder companys collect them and use them in various ways, not only targeting, marketing but also enforce they will on our consumer lives. Not to mention that I dont want everyone knows what kind of stocking i am buying and why and for whom. It is my data and i wana do what i want with them and have the most control i can get over them.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is A joke and will never last. on: February 20, 2014, 12:07:59 PM
The average consumer is not going to partake in bitcoin when transactions can take hours or even days (currently waiting 3+ hours to move money between accounts). Bitcoin is a fad and will never be a real currency due to the massive draw backs that are built into the currency itself and can not be counted. One of the reasons to use Bitcoin was due to the low fees. The fees will continue to raise as mining cost increase and people have to pay higher and higher fees just to get their bitcoin moved to a new location.

You will never be able to walk into a shop and just pay for an item. You will have to wait untill the transaction is confirmed which is currently taking hours and will eventually take days/weeks.

Bitcoin will fail once a better digital currency is introduced.

did you acctualu used visa recently ? or bitcoins have certain advantages normal money doesnt have. People are suing them not becouse they act like blind ship fallowing the others. they use them becouse they see certain diference, diference that makes actual damn good reason to use them. Reasons that you should alredy notice, and if you havent, I cant find any reason to talk with you about it
20  Economy / Economics / Re: A Resource Based Economy on: February 20, 2014, 12:00:01 PM
Greetings,

I was very excited to learn about the Bitcoin currency several months ago, and I am very pleased to see it growing. I am part of an organization called the Zeitgeist Movement, who advocates a resource based economy. We are interested in seeing a radical redesign of society and an associated shift in values. We understand that the major cause of human suffering today is the current monetary system and the warped values and corrupt behavior inherent in its implementation. We know that we can provide food, water, shelter and a highly technological life style to every one on the planet if we chose to do so. What generally prevents us from doing so is the idea of money, which paralyzes us as a society, in terms of technological advancement, quality of education and healthcare, and a sick culture that encourages us to be competitive and cruel to our fellow human beings.

Knowing and understanding the underlying mechanics of a monetary system is fundamental to not being abused by it. Currently, the vast majority of people are unaware of the destructive and unfair nature of our current fractional reserve banking system, and that makes them vulnerable to all the abuses we see today. Poverty, war, crime and hunger are the result of inequitable economic practices, and will not significantly change until we end or significantly alter our subservience to this and associated institutions. I believe Bitcoin would make for an ideal transition currency until a full RBE can be implemented.

An RBE is basically the realization that there are no arbitrary restrictions on reality. Being bound to the imaginary rules of a monetary game, we limit how much we can accomplish and provide for each other. If we declared all of the earth's resources as common heritage for all the world's people, and used the methods of science to construct and provide all of life's necessities for all people, then there would be considerable reduction in hunger, crime, war and poverty, not to mention unnecessary suffering due to lack of access of medical care or inadequate educational opportunities. If people were given all that were necessary to survive, they could devote themselves to the benefit of all man kind. These would be the values of a resource based economy, not the competitive and acquisitive value based behavior we see today.

I encourage you to learn more about these ideas if they interest you. I hope to support the bitcoin system as long as I am able, and I hope to see it become a dominant and thriving ecosystem in the months and years to come. Thank you for your time and attention.

Normal curency represents numerous problems that botcoin doesn't have and thats the main reason why many people are using it. Even though it wont remove normal currency from market it creates helthy alternative for persons tired of many manipulations and bad influence standard currencies have. Definitly it is interesting and exciting times. Finally after so many year we have certain evolution on financial market, even though it is still more of meta-finances.
