1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XMG] Magi | 1st POS-II | Fair Distr | Tor | M7M CPU only on: September 17, 2014, 07:37:03 AM
Is it only possible to solo mine because the suggested pools don't seem alive?

If yes what user, pass, port and ip should i configure in the magi-minerd.sh file?

Thanks!
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] ShadeCoin | Scrypt | PoW/PoS | PoD | Packed with Features! on: September 04, 2014, 11:45:18 PM
Can I get some coins for german translation?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] [DOS] Denial of Service Coin on: July 23, 2014, 08:35:08 AM
Found a new, user friendly name.

Rivercoin

Packets and requests are within the main river and the water is then split up into smaller streams and canals and such to distribute water to other places. The name isn't even taken either : )

Denial of Service coin is self explanatory IMO so you better leave it like this.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PES] Pesa - Anonymous Coin - No Premine - Dynamic Interest - PoStr on: July 20, 2014, 10:46:37 PM
I mined a couple thousand of these just for the heck of it about 3 hours ago on dedicated, and my coins are still unconfirmed - anyone seeing this?

So you just blindly started mining this coin and didn't read the announcement itself?

What do you mean by reading the announcement? I read it and still don't get it. Can u explain? thanks!

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] [I/O] [I/O Coin] [X-11] POW/POS with Hybrid PoS for PoW phase. on: July 15, 2014, 07:15:03 PM
I/O Coin (Input/Output Coin) Will be releasing towards the end of the week

I/O Coin is a Hybrid POW/POS coin, aiming to simplify the Cryptocurrency experience as well creating a better and more engaging end user experience, through better UI design, and utilization of the Blockchain technology.

We are planning on releasing roughly 16 million coins during our Proof-of-Work phase, with an upper limit of around 22 million coins for PoS (which should take a very long time to reach.)

The PoW phase will last roughly 12,000 blocks, and will be running in Hybrid mode for added security on the blockchain (you will be able to stake your coins right after you mine them even during PoW phase.)

Name: I/O Coin
Symbol: I/O
PoW Coin Supply: 16 million
Algorhithm: X11 POW/POW (Hybrid PoS for PoW phase.)
Start Date: 07/22/2014 (Tuesday)

Edit:

The original listed time for release had stated "Friday 07/18/2014" but that is incorrect, and the release will happen on Tuesday the 22nd.

1. Is there any IPO, premine?
2. Why did you change the date?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] [I/O Coin] [X-11] POW/POS on: July 15, 2014, 05:41:01 PM
We will start I/O Coin Friday, it will be hybrid POW/POS and have 22 million total coins.

this is hilarious, I can't even imagine how did you came up with this complicated explanation. In fact I will sell my house in order to buy IPO from your coin  Grin Grin
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CSO] CSCoin | X11 | PoW + PoS | CryptoCoin For Counter-Strike on: July 15, 2014, 12:11:39 PM
Current market cap is around $30-32k, at first announcement #CSO will jump around like House of Pain back in the 92's.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfblUSCaAQk

Damn this is the anticipatory buying spree before Dev releases ANN. Then once plans are disclosed to public price will be 30-50k EASY

When is the ANN supposed to be coming?

Hello,
Sorry but even the announcement of the coin is written ungrammatically, which is not very good.
OP please correct your grammatical mistakes! It is shame to have such mistakes into announcement of a new coin. No offense..

CS is a brand so CSCoin should stay as it is IMO.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL][APEX] Should APEX reduce PoW blocks? on: July 14, 2014, 01:30:33 AM
Yes, but let's reduce it to 10,000 blocks! (approximately 5 days)

Do I need to do something extra in order to get the stake interest from the pos? I have the coins for already more than 24 hours in my wallet but the stake still stays at zero. thanks

You might need to unlock your wallet

There is no "unlock" button and it says "Staking ... Expected time to earn reward is 12 minutes". I am waiting for about an hour already and nothing happens ... any ideas what is going on?

UPDATE: I just got some reward. Thanks for the help anyway!

I could be wrong, but what I can see from the order book that there is no buy support whatsoever but the miners/devs are still dumping. This indicates that really unwise and short sighted ppl around this coin. I am not sure where the devs from are they from China, Phillipines, Albania? I guess they make few hundreds/thousands $ by dumping for 2k and it is enough for a whole village for a year so they are happy, but actually they could make 10 times as much by waiting a bit. Up to them, it is their coin.

"A beggar is not a chooser" don't want to offend anybody though. Proly those people really need the quick buck.

too risky for me, some launch are doa or die after some days... i like to make btc via risk-free

No such thing as risk free.

It's like i took the risk of buying 500€ worth of BTC when price was almost 10€ / BTC
People declared me crazy, mentaly ill, for buying BTC at such a high price ( 10€/btc)

No pain, no gain. No risk, no return.

actually there is, i made plenty of btc here just using my rig, not even a big farm, and just waiting for the right coin to instamine

Can u please define instamine? Is it simply mining right from the moment of launch or something else? Thanks!

Is there somebody on this thread who actually broke even and/or earned some profit which was worth mentioning be it from an ASIC miner, FPGA, GPU miner or some other gadget?
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: USB Miners on: July 10, 2014, 08:51:58 PM
They are very slow, but they can be ok if you get them for fair price, which is really hard. Paying more than 1$ for a USB miner is waste of money. Note that you will need at least 100 of them to get some BTC out of it.

I am not familiar with those. What's the deal with cooling them and where do you plug 100 pieces? Some special device? How much does it cost?
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: USB Miners on: July 10, 2014, 08:28:53 PM
that's brutal

and that was last year
now it's even harder to gain profit

we should seriously make a foundation that will build huge wind colectors for electricity, sell shares and put a  hell lot of miners there Cheesy

while paying electricity..

nothing is worth it now :/

Well from energetic point of view, it takes more energy to manufacture a sun accumulating collector than it will ever deliver in its whole life ... kind of the same deal like miners Smiley

I'v never heard of that Cheesy

I knew solar collectors where expensive, but not that expensive!

As I said manufacturing them costs more energy than they can produce, not that you won't brake even after buying them.
