1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some one paid 1.0394BTC as fee for 2 transactions. on: December 28, 2015, 11:05:10 AM
Probably a newbie who doesn't know how fees work. There is no room for error when creating txs.
2  Economy / Speculation / Re: With the recent price jump, is now a bad time to buy? on: December 18, 2015, 10:45:40 AM
It's always the time to buy bitcoin a bit at a time. I buy bitcoin every month with spare cash I have. Your savings will grow. You can spend your bitcoin when you need to and buy it back when you have the opportunity. It is a matter of time bitcoin will be worth a lot more than $500.
3  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Any way to earn 0.01bitcoin ? on: December 18, 2015, 10:37:24 AM
Selling something you own in bitcoin or offer to do work for bitcoin. 0.01btc is not much, anyone can earn that very easily when you put your mind to it. Bitcoin is money, cannot expect it to magically fall into your pocket.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin user adoption is horrible - here is why: on: December 18, 2015, 10:34:17 AM
Bitcoin adoption is slow, not horrible. We have more merchants accepting bitcoin than a couple of years ago. There is nothing you can't buy with cash, credit card and PayPal. Bitcoin need to penetrate those markets. It takes time.
5  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BitFury has the No. 1 Crown for Now... on: December 17, 2015, 11:00:57 AM
BitFury do not make hardware for home use. They only sell hash power online to cloud miners. They will lead the race in long run.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you like Android or ios for mobile Bitcoin transactions? on: December 17, 2015, 10:55:50 AM
I like using mobile phones to make transactions because it has a camera to grab are codes. I do think mobiles are more vulnerable to hacks.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you have your paper wallet in printed form with you? on: December 17, 2015, 06:58:17 AM
I have created paper wallets before. I used an address from bitcoin core and not from blockchain.info wallet. I prefer to use an address which has never been "online".
8  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Coinut account with 0.0528 BTC balance inside on: December 16, 2015, 10:34:26 AM
The site looks shady, owner disappeared before, he can do it again.
9  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is there any chance the fee will rise to replace block subsidy? on: December 16, 2015, 10:31:18 AM
I think it all depends on the price of bitcoin. If bitcoin price stays at current level, fees will have to rise to keep mining profitable.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much can you earn with gambling? on: December 15, 2015, 09:43:19 AM
You can win big when you bet big, but it's risky. The slow and steady method works for me. I can win about a few dollars a week.
11  Economy / Speculation / Re: Poll: Bitcoin's price after the halving on: December 15, 2015, 09:39:50 AM
I think the uptrend will continue after the halving then follow by a small correction. It is a tough call, no one can predict what will happen.
12  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Idea to extract hot air for better cooling efficiency on: December 12, 2015, 11:34:02 AM
I think it's a good idea to use ducts to take hot air out of the room and keep the room cool. You can use those rigid round aluminium ventilation duct for kitchen. Those aren't expensive.

14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your biggest loss gambling? on: December 12, 2015, 07:45:03 AM
My biggest loss is in fiat, equivalent to about 1 btc at recent prices. I don't gamble that big in bitcoin.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What would happen if blockchain.info becomes inaccessible? on: December 12, 2015, 07:41:04 AM
I have a bitcoin wallet in blockchain.info.

Is there a way to recover/find bitcoins when blockchain.info is abruptly shut-down by hacking or unexpected events? I have a paper backup of blockchain.info's wallet.

It is possible. You should backup your private keys often. I export the keys unencrypted in bitcoin core format and encrypt the text file with a strong password.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you define "early adopters"? on: December 12, 2015, 07:35:22 AM
Early adopters are those who took risks to use the innovations before mass adoption. We are not at mass adoption phase yet. We are early adopters. If bitcoin is going bust tomorrow, we are late adopters.  Cheesy
17  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 1 BTC available for investement, what would you do? on: November 30, 2015, 10:25:55 AM
Bitcoin is already an investment, no need to double invest it and risk loosing some or all of it. There are not many trustworthy sites to invest.
18  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bitcoinblackfriday.info - Do NOT use their website. on: November 28, 2015, 12:33:50 PM
I was thinking about buying some gift cards from there before, I am glad I didn't. This is a well planned scam, deceiving the most experienced bitcoin users. Characteristics of bitcoin do make scamming easy. I was close to loosing some coins. I am lucky this time, will be extra careful in the future.

Thank you for busting the scam.
19  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Limited number of bitcoin addresses on: November 27, 2015, 02:07:01 PM
The address space is unimaginably large, address collision is extremely unlikely. I understand that ever since I first know about bitcoin. But there is still a worrying thought in my mind that this is possible and there is no protection to my coins when that happens. I have got used to using bitcoin without this insecurity because I think if a collision happened, mine won't be the first to collide.  Grin
