I am trying to install a UPS monitoring software from CyberPower, they have linux versions but I am geetting an error about architecture. Could somneone please guide me on how to install it ? Here is the link to the software download page. Thank you in advance.

https://www.cyberpowersystems.com/product/software/power-panel-personal/powerpanel-for-linux/

I don't see anything related to architecture other than 32-bit and 64-bit. As they don't specify, the packages are most likely compiled for x86 architectures. The Apollo CPU is ARM based. The error messages would tell you specifically.

It doesn't appear to be open source. You could contact support, and see if they would supply an ARM version.

Another option would be to run the monitor on a different platform, and remotely shut down attached ARM based systems from there.

Also, I noticed there's another fan in the "official" power supply. Since I'm planning to run it with very low power, I wonder if that fan is even needed as that's now the main contributor of noise. I guess I could buy another PSU without a fan for this "silent miner" project. Any suggestions for one? So far I've found this one, which should run without starting the fan until 220W so it should be absolutely noiseless.

Been using a couple of these: https://www.parallelminer.com/product/z9-mini-power-supply-460w-110-240v-80-platinum-94/

They are running 1-Full + 3-Standard on balanced, and can be paired/controlled together. The fans do move a little air, but I can't hear them. (only feel it coming out the back)

They appear to be sold out at the moment, but you can pick up the breakout boards / cables from above, and source the PSU used. I use the same ones in my old G8 HP servers, and you can pick them up from old server distributors for cheap. ($10-20) They are dead nuts reliable, and efficient. The Titanium versions are a bit harder to come by, and not worth the extra $$ to me. Standard Gold versions work fine as well, but they are usually almost the same price as Platinum.

4mo uptime here, BTW. Would be longer, but had a power outage during a snow storm a while back.

On a different note, where are all the Apollo Full Node holdouts??? Were ~10 nodes away from being the #3 most popular node on the Litecoin network....grab a spare USB drive and fire up those nodes we should be in the hundreds by now!

I got hit by a tornado last Friday, so one node down is on me. Ripped the roof off, and had to cut power to the building.

Is anybody experiencing this? What can be the cause? It seems like since I upgraded to node I have a lot of problems because it was running for almost a year with no issue.

I had a couple of lockups in beta because the USB stick I was running was a bit temperature sensitive. I had to up the fan to keep the MCU cooler, and didn't have a problem after that.

I've got a Samsung USB for it now.

hello COMMUNITY,

I am the owner of your futurebit appollo lot 2 unusable for the moment I hope ..... that's why I contact you.

I bought from the supplier bitshopper.de in Germany 350 euros with food delivery at home very good service on paper ... finally received I was very happy and quickly disappointed after opening the package without food: - \ ... ..

Finally it is not serious it is the trade ..... I have order a food which will arrive soon §§§

I then bent over to get ahead of the start-up preparations for the sd card and one more pbl Sad
I used the links to give the Apollo image each time I end up with a corrupt file ... bad luck makes me feel bad ...
I noticed when checking the file that the letters appear in capital letters I always get this:

PS C:apollo_image_1-29.img> Get-FileHash .\apollo_image_1-29.img -Algorithm SHA256 | Format-List

Algorithm : SHA256
Hash      : 937CCB99B2B58C8C3EA113B5391CA7D8DBA7F10AAFC4261BFA707F51A6DA6918
Path      : C:apollo_image_1-29.img\apollo_image_1-29.img
\apollo_image_1-29.img> "HASH1" -eq "HASH2"
False

What is the solution to be able to have this famous uncorrupted file

The hash output is a hexadecimal number (the letters are digits), and capitalization can be ignored. Just taking a quick glance at the start and end, it probably matches. Convert one of the strings to match the case of the other, or do a comparison that ignores case.

#1 has been mining for weeks now and it's always blinking green like that. I think you got it the other way around. Miner #2 (red and green blinking) hasnt been producing nothing.

Green/Red fast blinking is definitely mining. Green flashing is definitely disconnected.

I could see this happening if you didn't modify the hostname on at least one of the miners.

Has anyone who ordered an Apollo+PSU on/after the middle of June gotten their shipping notification yet?

I ordered May 11 and just got mine today.

And that brings me to why I am here.  I got it hooked and mining.  All good there.

I went to setup WiFi, scanned, found and entered password for WiFi.  Error returned...There was a problem connecting to the wifi, please doucle check the password. Internal error

Password is correct, confirmed multiple times.

The easiest way I found to get wifi working is through the shell.

  • SSH to the system. (futurebit:futurebit)
  • run 'sudo armbian-config'
  • go to Network->wlan0->
  • If you tried to configure through the web interface, select "Forget" (otherwise continue to WiFi)
  • select WiFi, and activate your wifi network here
  • once connected, cancel out.

Once you reboot without ethernet plugged in, it should come up on WiFi.

One minor miner issue: The first one I set up was working fine, but as I restarted the 3 units on the same PSU, that first one didn't have the amber LED at startup. Then I set up wifi, and restarted them again. It took a while for the green/red to start blinking. Now that unit has no front LED indication at all. Tried putting it back on wired ethernet, as well as reflashed the SD card for grins, but no change. Otherwise, it appears to be humming along just fine.

Q: Is there a connector that may have come loose, or could this be a harbinger of things to come for the board?

Thanks!

Just throwing this back out there since we're on a new page. Wondering if it is worth opening up.

Got my batch 2 units on Friday, and have had them all running for over a day now. Really like the new cases, and curious where the wifi ant went. Batch 1 had them flapping in the breeze, so I see it as an improvement. Maybe the metal case facilitated this?
