From Cryptopia twitter, Feb 14 2019:
"Update: The police have now given us access back to our building, while they continue their investigations. Our staff are working relentlessly to evaluate the funds that were stolen."
They are doing evaluation. For me that is measuring, calculating USD values of stolen coins.
USD value of stolen coins at this 1 year bear market is minimal. No matter how much we paid for our coins, that current value of stolen coin at the 1 year bear market is minimal or close to it.
That could mean, Cryptopia's obligations to us, to their clients, measured in USD in such bear market is very likely quite minimal.
If we can't get our coins or funds (remaining) that could mean: our losses or missed opportunities could very likely become maximized in this bear market, and Cryptopia's obligations to us could very likely become minimized.
Well I just need Access to their system so I can prove the holdings I have there the Devs have allready locked out the wallets containing the coins and will probably refund people losses after burning those wallets. I dont see this Bear going much lower then it allready is anytime soon that would have to be an extremely long game for them If only their Eth related stuff was stolen lock that stuff out and give us access to everything else. Also that Update Post should be on the Fing FRONT PAGE OF CRYPOTIA not this over a old month of message really really bad ,, I will be amazed if they can recover from this I had allready stopped trading there only the coins that where not listed anywhere else I traded on cryptopia , after I get my coins out will never use them again. |

Saying stuff like that in public is how you get arrested m8 and also it doesn't help us get our coins back just another reason for them to hide behind the police. However it is time we all start contacting the police there and asking if they want to go and take a look because not even changing the front page is outrageous .. At least Tell us why we dont have access to our funds yet. |

So many uneducated comments I don't even know where to start, so I won't. I'll just leave you folks to your little FUD echo chamber, its a shame the Mods of this site allow the kids in here to post what they do. This use to be a good site, now its worse than twitter/facebook comment section.

Reading some of these comments, this is the most toxic... uneducated FUD I've ever seen. So many armchair experts who are suddenly versed in Police procedure, how exchanges should be run and their own version of what happened. Meanwhile the drop kick still thinks he "schooled" the "3 of us".

Yea sure, here you cant delete blockchain research links, reddit links, theories as you (as entity-Topia/mod team) do on "unofficial"-discord. Btw I read the same crap" "armchair experts" from others in your ranks. Belittling people (coz butthurt(?)), who were digging data and not just shit-talking. So arrogant, yet some of these people who sacrifice their time know their stuff. + They saw other "hacks", "scams" etc.. some of them are here since start of Crypto (even before on their fields) and some are data researcher themselves. Angry people exist what a surprise, but you would be the same, esp in their shoes. Others make a point even if a bit vulgar/coated with bitterness. FUD the magical word, yet you are not in kindergarten anymore. Not some shitcoin dev/fan either. (The FUD-shout is their secret weapon in many cases) + You had the choice not to reply to provocation, yet you yourself lost it too and went berserk. How this is handled and how they (you as I understand u are part of this entity) were fcked over is the real Issue here, despite people warning them, saying delist shitcoins so they spare resources by not maintaining garbage wallets etc.. Topia failed to scale down after prices went to shit,not reorganizing stuff fast enough. Where did the bullmarket (or lets just call it insane 2017 Crypto Spike) profits go may I ask? Obviously a big chunk (if not all) wasnt put back into the company to face the future challenges. I dare to say an 50k-100k $ BTC could cripple Topia easily with this infrastructure. (Yea I am referring to when registration was suspended/Topia crapping out and those were "golden times") It is cute that you think this is me going "berserk" lol Why would I want to delete anything here? You guys are doing a great job of showing how this forum is just full of FUD. It was actually a very well worded response and you have clearly shown a lack of maturity. You cant respond to people that are "yelling" at you and you cant respond to polite people with good arguments you clearly have no communication or people skills and should not be talking on behalf of any company Officially or unofficially especially not one that holds millions of customers money. So I don't expect that a fall from "untrustworthy" to "totally untrustworthy" will have a big financial impact to them. Well I read some stuff in this thread recently that makes me think they are slipping down to CB levels of untrustworthiness and imo there is no coming back from that. |

I don't want to spread FUD and sadness, but I was thinking... Think at the owner of an exchange that has been hacked, therefore has totally lost users' trust. He has (?) million of dollars on cold wallets and he perfectly knows that when will reopen, ppl will run to withdraw EVERYTHING and go trade elsewhere. He will face very hard months, in addition in a bear market that has already killed some exchanges. If you were him, what would you do?  I still believe that there are people who will do the right thing no matter what the situation is. The idea of running away may have crossed their minds knowing that most users ( if not all) will leave the exchange anyway if they reopen. However, we are not sure if they'll go that way, well I hope not. I'll just wait and see If there was any chance of Not having a mass exodus from cryptopia then they should have taken action and communicated what they could .. they just clammed up and are hiding behind the police newly spawned exchanges are lining up to take all their customers and listed coins. Hacks can and Do happen If this was one or inside job I cant say for 100% but the thing a exchange can control is the Aftermath and they clearly shit the bed on this. |

The Court noted that Mr. Firano had been aware of these unauthorized withdrawals almost immediately after they occurredand found that Mr. Firano had reported on Twitter in late July 2017 that he had blacklisted accounts connected to the unauthorized transfers.
The Court reported that three months later, in October 2018, another 7.5 million NANO had been improperly removed from the exchange. Again, Mr. Firano took no meaningful action. with current prices he could buy back a lot of that nano with those 230 btc  to return to his customers  230 btc buy order would be a nice pump:) A win-win situation for the costumers plus for nano holders. So how did the court ruled it? Will they return the money in form of fiat or Cryptocurrency? If it's in fiat form how lucky they are because they are saved from the great fall of Nano that we suffered. 😂 doubtfull because the exchange funds did not get exchanged for Fiat as far as I know so the remaining funds will have dropped along with everything else. But seeing Bomber stripped of everything he owns and declared bankrupt will offer some comfort and if they use the BTC to buy back some of the Missing Nano that would be great. |

This is NOT a hack, this is a scam.
I am not mad about topia because of the hack. Hacking is a reality in cyberspace. What makes me mad is the aftermath. Topia slackers use police as a shield. This is unacceptable.
Let the police do their job BUT do your own investigation and inform us. Hiding behind the police and ignoring lots of customers is not the way to go...
Your words are real It what makes me think their not coming back and makes an inside job more likely .. If you are doing everything to recover the funds and are trying to save your buisness Your Customers would be your nr1 priority clearly we are not. |

When Cryptopia announced they were going to "allow" people to withdraw a portion of their holdings after they suffered 100+ 51% attacks and froze the accounts for multiple months I suggested on my Twitter Account that people withdraw all their funds on Cryptopia as they (Cryptopia) were effectively trading while insolvent. With multiple class actions being flagged against Cryptopia it stands to reason a liquidator would be called in to ensure creditors were paid out first followed by depositors a distant last place. Anyone who predicts Cryptopia will somehow reopen in February 2019 doesn't understand the magnitude of what is going on. (feel free to remind me in just 22 days time)

Please quote your source. unfortunately I did not read your twitter post so I did not reduce my cryptopia exposition. if cryptopia will bankrupt, no money for us. AND, your words make me think the hack as an excuse more probable. Remember, bear market is killing exchanges. Or better: they simply don't have so much convenience in continuing business besides doing an exit scam. Probably I am mad in continuing to have 100% of my funds on different exchanges. Even if they go bankrupt they will have to return the coins that where not stolen to the people they belong to .. It depends on how much of an asshole they want to be if they can reopen to let us withdrawl what is OURS and then go bankrupt some of us would be ok and get our coins back. If it just goes into bankruptcy without doing that then we will have to wait forever to get even the funds that where not stolen back I hope it doesn't come to that. |

They have to return so people can withdraw the coins they still have on there .. and then they can disappear. There are coins stolen after ten days of hacker the question is Why not open the site They allow thieves robbery They do not allow members to enter and withdraw their money What are they waiting for? The case seems to be orchestrated ye seems to be the case else they would have verified by now what wallets they still have control over. I just need a SS of my account so I can ask the devs of the coin to refund me after they burn the Cryptopia wallet on their chain. Their database should be intact or they should have a backup so they can at least give us access. At least their security was piss poor at worst they just robbed the place themselves. |

I don't understand why these refunding announcements are coming out when case is in court and there is decision for refund yet, as far as I know. Even if there will be ordered to refund limited number of people are going to claim it be sure of this. This refunding topic is being kept alive artificially and hard reality is investors have lost money for good.
case is in the court but what about investors and worker who workhard for envion to make it successfull envion raised 100 million in the ICO excluding underground and unofficially sold tokens to investors refunding should be done in a proper way to those lost money by investing in envion refund should not for the limited number of people. distribution of refund should be first for those who still holding envion token from its ICO time. Actually the Pre ico and ICO are separate and was not known to the ICO investors that there was a pre-ico the funds remaining in lockdown are the ICO funds not the Pre-ico funds that where spend on marketing and other stuff so imo the Pre-ICO investors have no claim to those funds. |
