61  Other / Off-topic / Re: What did you want to be when you were a kid? on: April 15, 2019, 01:48:48 AM
Wanted to make video games, dunno if I still wanna do it, but I am an IT student and could actually go down that path.
The reality is a lot less appealing than a kid's fantasy though.
62  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would YOU choose to live forever? on: April 14, 2019, 07:51:51 PM
Honestly, I would.
As long as we don't understand what our "consciousness" is, and what happens to it after we die -- I'd rather avoid my mortality.
Immortality would have it's own share of downsides, of course, but I'd take them over the slow decay that we all have to deal with.
Not much of a choice to be honest, since I could go back on my decision if I changed my mind 1000 years later, there's really no reason not to prolong our lifespans.
63  Other / Off-topic / Re: Confession: I want to become a Bitcoin hacker on: April 14, 2019, 10:22:22 AM
Premeditation is something that'll come back to bite you.
I figure that you'll be bored of the programming and lack of results and give up before ever doing it, like most people do.
Cyber crime tends to not leave evidence, but the people committing it can't seem to help themselves but brag online how they're a "pro haxxor", that's how they tend to get nabbed.
My advice: either give up the idea while you're still clean, or kill the habit of spilling the beans, honesty won't get you far with this.
64  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why is the world unfair? on: April 13, 2019, 03:42:55 PM
The world itself is quite fair, it's chaotic and nobody truly has it easy.
Now, if your definition of "fair" is that everybody should live a happy existence -- it's a nice thought to have, but it has nothing to do with fairness.
Society, on the other hand, has it's share of issues about the topic, but every man-made system is as flawed as the humans that made it.
Bitcoin isn't gonna be a magical solution to your problems, though it might help, who knows.
My advice is to just keep on keeping on, as long as you're alive: things CAN get better.
65  Other / Off-topic / Re: Worst things in your country? on: April 13, 2019, 10:16:24 AM
Corruption, no doubt; picture this -- the guy that got elected last term set up his people on polling booths and gave 10$ + a sandwich to those that agreed to vote for him, likewise he used his political party's pull to threaten jobs unless he got votes.
As expected, we've had frequent protests over these few years, but given that less than 50% of the population even voted and that most young people are leaving the country, I don't have much hope for this place.
66  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Free Merits! on: April 12, 2019, 11:10:30 PM
That certainly was informative.
Didn't realize that "bounty spammers" were a thing, nor that they got as much hostility directed at them.
Guess it's just what the current system invites, the smell of money draws people in, and then they see the post & merit requirements for ranking up, so they get to work.
How'd you even differentiate someone who's just trying to engage with the community from someone that's just racking up numbers? The line between those two seems rather thin to me.
I'm fairly new to this scene, can't say that I even understand the merit system all that well, 'till recently I assumed they were just the forum's version of "thumbs up".
I suppose I should lurk in the "Beginners & Help" section more.
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Never give up on: April 12, 2019, 06:24:38 PM
Congrats man, I kinda hate how I didn't take the gamble during the early days of crypto, got about 2 acquaintances who struck gold with it.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You Can't Be Jobless And Be Participating In Bounties on: April 12, 2019, 11:39:41 AM
To me, bounties are a way to gain extra experience with the type of work that I do, I'm always trying to branch out.
And with my country's economy, even "low rewards" tend to be a good chunk of money.
Though, I do appreciate your insight, gotta be careful and well informed on projects that you wish to participate in.
69  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your very deep question in life? on: April 11, 2019, 12:34:12 AM
If material things, nice cars, houses, smartphones can't make us happy what is missing here?

I think I have this one figured out, what's missing is a sense of purpose.
"Fulfilment" is kinda essential for us, 'tis why even rich folks tend to get depressed a lot, gotta find something to latch onto: work, relationships, faith, hobbies... etc.
70  Other / Off-topic / Re: Culture on: April 10, 2019, 02:10:12 PM
Well, as far as my kin's culture goes, I rather dislike the fact that we lost our pride, for things that matter anyway.
It's like we forgot our roots, another thing I dislike is how heavily religion influences anything between the culture and politics.
71  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your very deep question in life? on: April 09, 2019, 02:12:25 PM
Why are people so passive?
Why is a defeatist and/or nihilistic mindset so prevalent?
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine - man arrested for stealing bitcoins and altcoins on: April 08, 2019, 10:56:43 AM
Scary stuff, glad it's taken seriously in the law though.
Hope that we move more towards decentralization, that'd be one way to make our "wallets" safer.
73  Economy / Speculation / Re: Get ready for lots of negative articles on bitcoin on: April 07, 2019, 02:30:11 PM
Just what you'd expect from vultures, let's hope the "news" don't get too big.
74  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what do u think will happen 100 years or 1000 years from now on: April 06, 2019, 03:06:20 PM
I imagine that paper money will die out, everything's moving to digital and we already can pay with cards, so it's not really a stretch.
Crypto will likely become mainstream, down the line.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Coin360 news on: April 05, 2019, 04:29:20 PM
Looks like an awesome resource for folks like myself, keep up the great work, will be following.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solutions to KYC complain of some Bounty Hunters on: April 04, 2019, 11:10:18 AM
I get the purpose of KYCs, but on the other hand, I hate the idea of giving out personal information online, especially to companies.
Guess we can just ignore bounties that enforce it and hope it won't spread, there ought to be a better way to handle it though.
77  Other / Meta / Re: I was too close - April Fools Discussion on: April 02, 2019, 11:03:55 AM
Figured it'd be something to do with messing up the merit system, or perhaps messing with people's signatures, the KYC caught me a bit off guard lol
78  Other / Meta / Re: I'm not going to comply KYC on: April 01, 2019, 06:49:54 PM
I get where you're coming from, as humorous as this fake KYC was, online anonymity is on it's way to die with all the recent regulations and whatnot.
79  Other / Meta / Re: The April fools joke KYC ?!? on: April 01, 2019, 10:14:55 AM
Pretty evil, as far as pranks go, though the whole "list all your crimes" & "list all your romantic partners" was funny to the "this can't be real!" point Cheesy
80  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinxcryptomining.com is it a scam? on: March 30, 2019, 11:54:41 PM
It certainly is suspicious, I'd advise looking into who owns the domain, tends to be a good way to gauge legitimacy.
If the guy is anonymous then you best avoid it, otherwise I'd suggest looking into their background and online activities, can't be too careful these days.
